Terrorism Strikes Again?!

According to the District Attorney Michael Dougherty there was a shooter who, "was injured and is being treated for their injuries." Commander Kerry Yamaguchi states that the only person who suffered serious injuries is the suspected shooter." They have yet to release a name. So the public should know the shooter was seriously injured and is being treated. The man was able to walk out of the store into an ambulance to be treated for his injuries as if he didn't just kill ten people including a responding officer.

In less than a week domestic terrorism strikes again! I watched news reports that defended the reputation of the officer. That is complete crap to me because this man died in the line of duty trying to protect and serve and he deserves the right to have his dignity reserved without question. It was not he went into that grocery store with ill intentions. His job sent him them and its very unfortunate and horrible that he lost his life in the line of duty.

To even attempt to examine his reputation is disgusting and disrespectful. Especially when the name of the shooter and mass murderer hasn't been released as if he is being protected. To read about the recounting of the employees and shoppers that were fleeing and in fear of dying alongside their fellow shoppers was traumatic. I expected there to be a call by liberals for gun restrictions and banning of AR15's.

And I expect the push back of the conservatives about the right to bear arms. I think there are really good points in terms of their needing to be reform and or restrictions on who is allowed to own and the types of fire arms they are allowed to have. However, its a rabbit hole because that's what we always do. We always bring up the NRA and their lack of change, etc.

Meanwhile back at the ranch, this shootings keep happening. I have seen a pattern just like many twitter users have pointed out to this young to middle aged white males killing multiple people. The frequency of this has been taken up to a very uncomfortable notch in the past few days.

In less than a weeks time two white males allegedly ( I only say that because the second mass murdering terrorist hasn't been confirmed) have killed and gravely injured 19 people (1 seriously injured in Acworth and 18 deceased) and no I didn't include the last gunman as the injured he has received enough sympathy from the district attorney and commander.

There was a 23 year old young man from Aurora, Colorado. He was an introvert. He was an animal lover. He played the violin for stray cats because he believed it soothed them. He was a massage therapist. Elijah had just left a convenience store and was on his way home. It is unknown who saw him as threat but they called 911 and reported he had a ski mask and was suspicious.

Elijah hadn't committed any crime. There was claims he resisted arrest and was tackled to the ground by officers and placed in a carotid hold aka a choke hold. It stops or deceases the ability to take in oxygen. First responders injected him with ketamine. Ketamine is used for pain relief and short term memory less and is used in surgery for sedation.

Elijah had a heart attack on the way to the hospital and died days later and was declared brain dead. It turns out Elijah went to the store to get ice tea for his brother. His sister says he was wearing the ski mask because he had anemia and would sometimes get cold. Camera footage revealed that he was reaching not for a gun to turn off his music to hear what the officers were saying.

While in the choke hold he gasps for air and says he can not breathe. He tells them his name and says he has an ID but no gun and pleads with them that his home is right there. He weeps, vomits, and apologizes. He says, "I wasn't trying to do that. I just can't breathe correctly." An officer threatens to release a dog on him if he keeps messing around. He did nothing and he is gone.

In Boulder a man took several lives doing beyond the most and is identity is kept quiet. For what reason I ask? Is he a minor because no one described a minor or is he another example of a largely grow more frequent problem? You can not change anything character flaw, mindset, wrong until you acknowledge the problem. Maybe what happened in Boulder wasn't a problem for some people. Maybe it was a victory. Maybe what happened at the Capitol was a victory.

Maybe what happened in Acworth was a victory as well. Maybe it was tragedy to most maybe not. In my opinion there is a serious problem that shouldn't be brushed off or swept under the rug any longer. Its happening more frequently and they are getting more brazen. Is this self imposed mass murder from home grown terrorist? Is there a desire to return to the brutish ways in which countries were overthrown or is this the result of an embedded fear that is fed by fear mongering and threats of an outdated way of life becoming extent?

Is this a reflection of a country where roughly 71 million people are deeply enraged by a power shift? At the Capitol we heard chants of 1776 and during the pandemic we have heard of violation of one's rights as opposed to wearing a mask. What is this really about? Is it more than the second amendment rights? There has to be a conscious effort to real look at the real problem and take steps to make true change.
