Sending a mysterious series of tweets immediately after he posted a $20,000 reward for information leading to the conviction of the killer or killers of Seth Rich, Wikileaks founder Julian Assange has implied that DNC operatives are gunning for him. The first tweet was prefaced by Assange's comment:

"Hillary Clinton strategist Bob Beckel called for WikiLeaks editor Julian Assange to be assassinated. #DNCLeak."

The Wikileaks tweet is dated August 10th. The comment by CNN commentator, Clinton strategist, and Democratic Party operative Bob Beckel was made in December of 2010, when he said on the Fox News channel about Assange:

"there's only one way to do it: illegally shoot the son of a bitch."

Beckel said during his remarks: "Dead men tell no tales," and recommended US special operations operatives carry out the murder.

A second tweet from Assange on the same day referenced his assassination by reposting a 2013 remark made by Time correspondent Michael Grunwald, when Grunwald wrote that:

"I can't wait to write a defense of the drone strike that takes out Julian Assange."

The note by Assange prefacing the tweet only says that Grunwald is now at Politico. But the tweet could not have been intended as an announcement of Grunwald's new employment, as he has been with Politico since 2014.

Last week Assange posted a $20,000 reward for information in the killing of Seth Rich, which implied Rich was somehow connected, as speculation was running, with the leaked DNC emails which showed the DNC working to ensure the nomination of Hillary Clinton over Bernie Sanders as the Democratic party's nominee for president, despite a sudden tidal wave of support for Sanders.

As late as last June, before the release of the DNC emails, Assange said the emails he has released on Clinton show that she is given "constant updates on my personal situation."

A search of the Wikileaks "Hillary Clinton Email Archive" which span from June 30, 2010 to August 12, 2014 brings up two pages of hits in which Assange is mentioned, mostly in emails to Clinton. A search of the more recent DNC Email Database shows an article included in a briefing which talks about Assange's new kitten.

DNC Data Director Seth Rich was killed in a puzzling murder, in which nothing was taken from him, in a relatively safe area of Washington DC. When Assange posted the $20,000 reward for information leading to the conviction of his killer, DC police said welcomed the Wikileaks reward, saying “We are very pleased if anyone is going to assist us with the giving of reward money.”

Since Wikileaks has an ironclad policy of never commenting on its sources, the move was clearly aimed at making a connection between Rich's murder and Wikileaks. Assange went on-camera with a Dutch television station and said, while reiterating Wikileaks policy:

"We have to understand how high the stakes are in the United States, and that our sources take serious risks when they come to us so we can protect their anonymity..."

Now it appears that the DNC has hired a high-priced PR consultant to speak for the Rich family, and to tamp down speculation about the connection between the Rich murder and Wikileaks. Brad Bauman has issued a statement on behalf of the Rich's urging that speculation over the Rich murder not include "unproven and harmful theories about Seth’s murder,”

Julian Assange is currently living in the Ecuadoran Embassy in London, and has been declared by the UN to be a political prisoner.
