I'm an aspiring writer, but overall, I am an American who seeks a better America.
As I was browsing through a group of thumbnails on YouTube, I recently stumbled across a video with a news story regarding a 13-year-old girl who had run away from home with a 22-year-old man whom she had met online. His name was Tyler Thompson. Actually, the video itself showed a deputy sheriff named Royce James who went searching for this missing girl.
To make a long story short, Deputy Sheriff James went to the motel room where Tyler Thompson and the 13-year-old girl had been staying together. He had Mr. Thompson to believe that he was a motel employee who needed access to the room for repair purposes.
Of course, after Mr. Thompson had opened the door to the motel room to let him in, Deputy Sheriff James barged in and chastised Mr. Thompson. The 13-year-old girl came running to Deputy Sheriff James and hugged him in a way that suggested that she was turning to him in distress. She complained that she had a stomach ache. Mr. Thompson and the girl had already had sexual intercourse with each other by the time that Deputy Sheriff James had knocked on the door of the motel room. Deputy Sheriff James politely told the 13-year-old girl to wait in the other room.
Deputy Sheriff James kept asking Mr. Thompson his age and even implied that he could lose his temper with him at any time. Finally, Mr. Thompson caved in and admitted that he was 22 years old. It made me think of a scene in the movie titled Billy Jack in which Billy Jack seeks out this one man with whom he had a score to settle toward the end of the movie and he finds him in bed with a 13-year-old girl. It’s strange to think that that movie was initially released clear back in 1971, because supposedly fewer teenagers and tweenagers were sexually active back then as compared with nowadays.
Anyhow, Mr. Thompson looked visibly uneasy and nervous in the presence of Deputy Sheriff James. Anyone could see that he probably realized that his life was about to take a turn for the worse from that point on. His biggest mistake was failing to assert his Fifth-Amendment rights and ask for a lawyer, because doing so would have stopped Deputy Sheriff James from even being able to find out his age directly from him. There is a video on YouTube wherein Regent Law Professor James Duane warns everyone never to talk to the police. You can watch that video below.
Regent Law Professor James Duane Stresses The Importance Of The Fifth Amendment To The United States Constitution
Of course, Mr. Thompson was probably so dead set on believing that he would never get caught at what he was doing that Deputy Sheriff James’s unexpected appearance at the door of his motel room put him into a state of shock and panic. He likely felt that Deputy Sheriff James had him behind the eight ball, and he was too afraid not to answer him when he asked him his age.
I also must add that Deputy Sheriff James talked as though he was going to beat the answer out of Mr. Thompson if he refused to speak. Hmm. Could we have been looking at a prospective case of police brutality?
Now, all of us are going to have our own respective opinions about what went on in that motel room as well as about the events that led up to it. I’m not here to make Mr. Thompson look like an angel in wings, because he is obviously far from it; and I won’t try to convince you that he’s the next Goldilocks. He definitely was playing with fire when he decided to hook up with a 13-year-old girl through the Internet and ask her to meet up with him somewhere so that they could go to a motel room together for a liaison. His arrest was a rude wakeup call to him of the fact that the United States of America was colonized by the Puritans instead of the French, to say the least.
Judge for yourself what happened. You can watch a video below that shows Deputy Sheriff James searching for the missing 13-year-old girl and arresting Mr. Thompson.

Deputy Sheriff James was subsequently celebrated as a national hero and was given interviews on camera and television appearances to talk about his search for the missing girl and his arrest of Mr. Thompson. You can watch a series of television appearances he made in the news clips below.

The media, the press, and the court of public opinion all three had a field day with this same story. Child advocates and social justice warriors were all over the place in the comments sections of online news articles with this story. In describing Mr. Thompson, they spewed their usual derogatory terms beginning with the letter P in which the term “pedophile” was one of them.
Meanwhile, to the best of my knowledge, no qualified mental-health professional has ever diagnosed Mr. Thompson as being a pedophile to this very day. Then again, I’m sure that none of these individuals who have branded him with that medical term could care less how the American Psychiatric Association (“A. P. A.”) defines pedophilia in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition (“DSM-5”), which specifies that pedophiles are exclusively or primarily attracted to prepubescent children rather than teenagers. They may find themselves in similar circumstances as Elon Musk for being so indiscriminate about how they use or rather misuse that medical term. Of course, that’s neither here nor there.
I’m not making excuses for what Mr. Thompson did. I’m not doubtful that he knew what the ramifications of his actions would be as well as the kind of impact they would have on the lives of everyone involved, including his own, in the event that he got caught. However, I would never go to the extreme of equating him to or even comparing him with monstrous abominations like Donald James Smith or the late John Couey, because he did not prey on a defenseless, little prepubescent child in a violent and lethal way. Instead, he crossed a forbidden legal age line with an adolescent girl who was apparently curious about what it would be like to share intimacy with someone significantly older than her. Well, I guess that she found out, although not in the way that she had expected. I know that I am going to get a load of backlash for stating it this way, but facts are facts.
I am well aware that the fact that the 13-year-old girl hugged Deputy Sheriff James upon his entry into the motel room is strongly indicative that she had probably realized by then that she had overplayed her hand after Mr. Thompson had begun to make his moves on her and eventually went too far with her. I am not one who would ever encourage a 13-year-old girl to have sexual intercourse with anyone of any age no matter how “cool” it may seem to her.
After Deputy Sheriff James was getting ready to arrest Mr. Thompson, Mr. Thompson probably had wished that he could jump into a time machine and go back one year in time before everything involving this one incident had taken place. I don’t see how he could be completely oblivious to the gravity of the kind of mistake that he made.
The situation involving Mr. Thompson and the missing 13-year-old girl bears a resemblance to another situation that happened so many years ago in Michigan. Like Mr. Thompson, a man named Zach Anderson was of collegiate age; and like the 13-year-old girl with whom Mr. Thompson hooked up, Mr. Anderson’s alleged victim was also in her early teens when she met up with him for sexual intercourse. However, the major difference between the two scenarios was that the press, the media, and the court of public opinion did not come rushing to Mr. Thompson’s defense after he was arrested and put on camera for the entire world to see. Quite the contrary, the press, the media, and the court of public opinion made him out to be the villain in this whole episode.
Jail inmates actually treated Mr. Anderson with respect while he was incarcerated after he was arrested for having sexual intercourse with a 14-year-old girl. Mr. Thompson may not be as lucky as him in that respect. Last I heard, Mr. Thompson was out on bond. You can get the full story regarding Mr. Anderson’s brush with the law, in the video below.
Zach Anderson’s Life Turned Into A Nightmare After He Was Arrested For Having A Liaison With A 14-Year-Old Girl
The above-described situation involving Mr. Thompson and the missing 13-year old girl also bears a strong resemblance to yet another situation in which a 22-year-old man named Morris Williams was arrested for having sexual intercourse with a 13-year-old girl named Alisha Dean after he first communicated with her on the Internet back in 2008. At the time of that same incident, Alisha Dean was the same age as Mr. Thompson’s alleged victim is now. That same incident also took place in Florida.
Nevertheless, unlike Alisha Dean, Mr. Thompson’s alleged victim got a full-blown pity party from the press, the media, and the court of public opinion. Moreover, unlike Mr. Thompson’s alleged victim, it had not been the first time that Alisha Dean had hooked up with a man in his twenties on the Internet for sexual intercourse. When she was 12 years old, she had a liaison with a 24-year-old man named Darwin Mills. You can get the full story about Alisha Dean in an online article titled “Should Statutory Rape Be A Strict-Liability Offense?”
Child advocates will argue that because Mr. Thompson was a 22-year-old adult man, it was his duly obligation to avoid fraternizing with a 13-year-old girl in any way, shape, or form and that he had no business even showing any kind of interest in a girl that young. Diehard liberals, on the other hand, will argue that adolescents are becoming more and more sexually active at younger and younger ages than in previous decades and that it is, therefore, futile for society and the law to try to stop them from acting on their desires regardless of whether their related activities are intra-generational or extra-generational. Like the abortion debate and the controversy surrounding capital punishment, there will never be a solid consensus among Americans on how situations like the above-described one involving Mr. Thompson and the missing 13-year-old girl should be handled.
Helicopter moms believe that the so-called solution to protecting a middle-school or high-school girl from harm is to restrict her to dating and having relationships exclusively with boys her own age. That is, don’t allow your 13-year-old daughter to have a boyfriend any older than 14 or 15 years of age, and all will be well. However, this same false assurance that Americans get peddled every day could not be any further from reality, because anyone who reads online news articles knows that there are boys as young as 13 years old, even 12 years old, here in our nation who commit heinous crimes against adolescent girls, even against adult women.
Nevertheless, many Americans praised Deputy Sheriff James for “rescuing” the missing 13-year-old Florida girl, and I don’t doubt that she felt very relieved once he appeared on the scene and took full control of the situation to keep it from getting any more out of hand than it already had done so. Even though it should be the court system that decides whether or not Mr. Thompson actually is guilty of any crimes connected with that young girl, it is very clear that she ultimately discovered that she was not ready for any kind of sexual relationship with anyone, not even with anyone her own age. Unfortunately, the dirty deed had already been done by the time that Deputy Sheriff James was walking through the door of the motel room. Therefore, this young girl’s life and Mr. Thompson’s life will both never be the same again from that day on.
The statutory age of consent in Florida is generally 18 years old. However, when an adult is younger than 24 years of age, then a Romeo-and-Juliet provision kicks in that allows for that adult to have consensual relations with someone as young as 16 years of age without breaking the law, of course. Because Mr. Thompson was 22 years old at the time of the incident, the young girl he took to the motel room would have to have been at least 16 years old before he could have expected Deputy Sheriff James to let him off the hook for what he did. Then again, Mr. Thompson likely knew that the girl was only 13 years old, and he, therefore, did not have a prayer of avoiding arrest after Deputy Sheriff James walked into his motel room and confronted him.
Now, let’s stop for one minute and ask ourselves what would have happened if Mr. Thompson had only been 13, 14, 15, or even 16 years old when he ran off with the above-described 13-year-old girl. Well, Deputy Sheriff James would have still searched for her. I don’t know if there are any laws or regulations on how old someone has to be to check into a motel room there in Florida. However, let’s just pretend that age would not have been any obstacle for the young girl and Mr. Thompson to check into a motel room.
Once Deputy Sheriff James had found them both, he would still have been furious at Mr. Thompson; but, instead, he would likely have given Mr. Thompson a thorough scolding and took him home to his parents instead of arresting him. The 13-year-old girl’s grandparents probably would have forbidden Mr. Thompson from ever seeing her again.
The press, the media, and the court of public opinion would not have demonized Mr. Thompson in the way that they have done so since the time of the above-described incident. In fact, if Mr. Thompson had been an underage adolescent boy close in age to that 13-year-old girl when Deputy Sheriff James had found them, the press and the media might have even gone as far as interviewing Mr. Thompson and allowing for him to gloat on camera. He might have even bragged about what a stud he thought he was for taking that young girl to a motel room and fooling around with her against the wishes of his and that girl’s respective families.
Nobody would be accusing Mr. Thompson of being a child molester or a pedophile in that event, which really should not be for the court of public opinion to determine in any event. He probably would have gone back to his own life, and the above-described 13-year-old girl would have gone back to hers. However, here is the problem I am still having with this same scenario.
The missing 13-year-old girl told Deputy Sheriff James that her stomach hurt upon his arrival to the motel room. I gather that she felt that way inasmuch as she was unready to have sexual intercourse and she was likely upset that she went through with it. However, if Mr. Thompson had been the same age as her, she still could have had that same stomach ache and felt the same way about their liaison. It is not right for American society to assume that an adolescent boy is incapable of doing any wrong to a girl her age merely because he is the same age as her, especially when there is sexual activity involved.
If parents don’t want their adolescent daughter to have sexual intercourse before they feel that she is ready to do so, the only answer to their concerns is for them to forbid her from dating at all. However, she would still risk the danger of becoming socially challenged in that event. In other words, there is no easy answer to this problem.
If parents are merely trying to keep their underage daughters from becoming pregnant, then perhaps gender segregation in educational institutions could be the solution to that concern here in the land of milk and honey. Such a set-up would not completely stop middle-school and high-school girls from having any sort of verbal contact with the opposite gender, but girls that age would at least have much more control over to whom they wanted to make themselves accessible or inaccessible.
Now, let’s take this issue one step further and let’s ask this one pressing question. What if Mr. Thompson had been the same age as the missing 13-year-old girl or slightly older than her, but no older than 16 years old, and that 13-year-old girl had become pregnant with his baby? Well, I can tell you that one thing that would have happened would be that after Deputy Sheriff James had brought her back to her grandparents, the press, the media, and the public at large would have lost interest in her very quickly and they would not have seen her as any kind of victim. In fact, the same people who acted so concerned about her previously would likely have turned on her like betraying angels after they found out that she had gotten pregnant.
Now, isn’t it interesting how American society will call a middle-school or high-school girl naïve, impressionable, innocent, and helpless whenever she goes missing and it is discovered that she is in the company of an adult man who may even be fewer than 10 years older than her? However, whenever a girl that same age becomes pregnant and the father of her unborn baby is a minor the same age as her or close to her in age, American society will look down on her with disdain and contempt. Somewhere in that whole mix there is a double standard, and I will be identifying it herein.
As you already probably realize by now, this article here of mine is not for the purpose of discussing whether state legislatures should lower or raise the statutory ages of consent across the United States of America. This article is about how our society treats adolescent girls between 12 and 17 years of age so disgracefully whenever they become pregnant from having sexual intercourse with a boy in their peer circles and how that disgraceful treatment only gets worse with time after that young girl gives birth to her baby.
You may have already read my article titled “Should Deadbeat Teenage Fathers Be Drafted?” that discusses the topic of teenage pregnancy and teenage motherhood. Even though I realize that this is a sensitive and controversial topic, I decided that I wanted to revisit it in the form of this same article here of mine on this writing platform.
Now, for the sake of preventing confusion, I will define a teenage father herein as any boy between the ages of 12 and 17 years old who either has gotten an underage girl pregnant or has fathered a baby with one. I’m going to refer to 18- and 19-year-old men as twenty-something-year-old men inasmuch as they are legally above the age of majority and would not be tried in a juvenile court for an adult crime.
B. Needless Humiliation And Shaming Of Teenage Mothers
We all know how the story goes. A girl may be 16, 15, 14, or even 13 years old, and one day she finds out that she is pregnant. Her entire life is turned upside down. She confronts stigmatization, ostracism, and humiliation from all the malicious gossip that ensues about her at her school and in her community. Her Title IX rights are often violated. The very same authority figures that she previously thought would come to her defense usually end up betraying her.
A teenage girl is needlessly subjected to all sorts of shame after others find out that she is pregnant. Her situation does not get any better after she becomes a teenage mother.
Meanwhile, teenage fathers are usually treated differently in a sense that they are seldom ever even criticized for having gotten an underage girl pregnant. In fact, often they are even praised for having done so. They may even have parents who encourage their depraved behavior.
Most of us have heard about the scene in the shower room of the boys’ locker room where boys will talk about a classmate of theirs becoming a teenage father. If the boy who got the girl pregnant is present there in the shower room, they will surround him and congratulate him as though he is some kind of legendary Casanova. However, seldom will he get run down with malicious gossip.
Unlike the girl he got pregnant, he won’t have to drop out of high school. In fact, he probably will even be able to go on to college; and if he lives in a state jurisdiction that protects him from paying child support until after he completes his collegiate studies, he will most certainly take full advantage of that option at the expense of the underage girl he got pregnant and their offspring. If he gets married afterwards, it will most likely not be the girl that he got pregnant whom he'll wed; and he will continue to find inventive ways to pay the least amount of child support that he can, so that he and his newly formed family can live the lavish lifestyle that they want. It is all so mind-boggling when you think about it.
In her article titled “I Was Shamed as a Teen Mom, Too,” Natasha Vianna tells us about the ordeal that she suffered as a pregnant junior at a Catholic high school. One would think that Ms. Vianna’s life would have gotten better after she transferred to a public school. However, even the public school to where she transferred had its fair share of judgmental people.
Another equally shaming scenario that pregnant teenage girls and teenage mothers encounter is bullying and derision from their baby daddy and his friends. It can come in the form of the young girl’s baby daddy shoving his new girlfriend in her face and getting his new girlfriend to spread malicious gossip about her throughout their school and their community. He can become a control freak with the girl he got pregnant.
Yasmyn Switzer is a teenage mother who posts videos on YouTube about her experiences as a girl who became pregnant at the age of sixteen. The father of her oldest child actively sought to get her pregnant on purpose while she was still a minor. He went as far as enlisting his friends to make fun of her back when she was 7 months pregnant with her first child. You can watch her tell her story in her video below.
Yasmyn Switzer Describes How Manipulative Her Oldest Child’s Father Is
The father of Yasmyn Switzer’s oldest child is undoubtedly a deadbeat teenage father, and like most deadbeat teenage fathers, he’s a social degenerate who has been no asset to Mr. Switzer’s life or to the life of their daughter. Ms. Switzer reported on February 14, 2021 that he was currently in jail. You can get the full details of that true story in the video below.
Yasmyn Switzer Reports That Her Oldest Child's Father Is Currently Incarcerated
Ms. Switzer made the right choice by moving far away from the father of her oldest child and getting completely outside of his orbit. However, other teenage mothers are not so lucky.
There is a teenage mother named Maddie Lambert who posts videos on YouTube about her experiences in raising a child while she herself is still a minor. She first became pregnant with her daughter when she was only 13 years old. The father of her child has been nothing but trouble for her ever since then. He has also wrongfully manipulated the court system to wreak havoc in Ms. Lambert’s life, and he has started fights with her and her family members. His name is Isaac Frausto.
Mr. Frausto’s mother has acted equally as deplorable as Mr. Frausto toward Ms. Lambert and her family members. Mr. Frausto is a complete disgrace. Thanks to him, Ms. Lambert has had to deal with all sorts of discrimination and needless shaming as a teenage mother, while Mr. Frausto has piggybacked on her success as a YouTuber. The hypocrisy of his actions is that he and his mother have attempted to sabotage Ms. Lambert’s livelihood on YouTube. You can watch a video below regarding the melodrama that has become commonplace in the lives of Ms. Lambert and her family because of Mr. Frausto and his mother.
Isaac Frausto And His Mother Have Been Nothing But Trouble For Maddie Lambert
In the video above, Mr. Frausto is even shown becoming belligerent and hateful with Ms. Lambert’s then-14-year-old sister in a confrontation between his family and Ms. Lambert’s family. Mr. Frausto has gone as far as making a video of himself and others making fun of Ms. Lambert and their child. Eventually, he took down that same video from the Internet. This jerk does not belong in front of a camera. He belongs in the middle of a Middle Eastern battlefield in accordance to what I proposed in my article titled “Should Deadbeat Teenage Fathers Be Drafted?” Ms. Lambert believes that Mr. Frausto is involved in criminal activities.
When teenage girls decide to terminate their pregnancy to avoid the difficulties of early motherhood, they are still subjected to humiliation, stigmatization, and ostracism from their peers and even their elders. Social-media influencer Danielle Cohn got an abortion when she was only 13 years old, and the young boy who had gotten her pregnant did nothing to make her life easy after he had found out that she was pregnant with his baby, to say the least. You can get the full true story from the video below.
Social-Media Influencer Danielle Cohn Describes Her Ordeal At The Age Of Thirteen
Now, I will not hide the fact that I have never been a fan of abortion. In fact, I am very much against it. However, I realize that there are people who sharply disagree with me on this issue, and I’m not mindless of the fact that there are going to be other opinions out there that are diametrically contrary to mine on this same issue. However, at the same time, I feel that if anyone is the culprit here in Danielle’s recent ordeal, it is the teenage boy who got her pregnant rather than her. His name is Ethan Fair. He is the epitome of selfishness and arrogance.
Ethan makes the above-described Tyler Thompson look like a goody two-shoes. Never mind that Ethan was only 15 years old back when he got Danielle pregnant. He clearly ruined her life when she was only 13 years old.
Even though Ethan was underage back when he got Danielle pregnant, he still could have been charged with a crime for doing so. Unfortunately, prosecutors in California thought that indicting him would have been the “uncool” thing for them to do for reasons that are beyond my comprehension.
After you look into Ethan’s background, you will find yourself becoming furious every time someone presents the argument or the question on why it is always the boy’s fault whenever an underage girl becomes pregnant. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out the answer to that question.
C. The Tyranny Of Social Services Agencies And Public Officials
Having worked for a social services agency myself, I can attest that most Child Protective Services (“CPS”) workers are decent, caring, and right-minded individuals. Back when I worked for a social services agency, I used to hear some really hair-raising horror stories about the way that some parents mistreated their kids. I can appreciate the hard work that CPS workers put into protecting these children from harm. However, there will always be those few bad apples in the bunch that will pull rank whenever they are in a position to make a legal decision on whether or not to remove a child or a baby from his or her parents.
Most unfortunately, when a girl between 12 and 17 years of age becomes pregnant, corrupt and tyrannical CPS workers will see that young girl as having fewer rights than a pregnant adult woman does and they will become tempted to take her baby away from her upon its birth for whatever reason regardless of the lack of legitimacy of their actions. Because that underage girl will not have the same financial resources as an adult woman, she will usually rely on a lawyer from the Public Defender’s Office or a legal aid attorney to go up to bat for her; and the outcome will seldom ever be favorable to her. An online article titled “CPS Kidnaps Half of All Babies Born to Teen Mothers in Foster Care” explains how such a nightmare can transpire for a pregnant teenage girl and a teenage mother.
Because the father of the baby is seldom in the picture, a teenage mother can feel helpless against the all so powerful tentacles of a social services agency whenever an overzealous CPS worker zeroes in on her and takes her child away from her for unjust or unfounded reasons. Some of you may be asking, “What about the baby’s maternal grandparents?” Well, as the article above explains, usually the tyranny begins when a CPS worker takes a pregnant teenage girl away from her parents and puts her into foster care. Once she is in foster care, the maternal grandparents of the baby become powerless to do anything to protect her or her baby from the manipulative clutches of a CPS worker.
I never encourage any girl to become pregnant at 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 or even 17 years of age. However, these young girls do have rights; and simply because they are not yet adults, it does not make them unfit parents. We all need to contact our elected officials to urge them to get tough statutes placed on the law books that will protect the legal rights of these teenage mothers and their offspring.
CPS workers should have guidelines to work within rather than have free rein over whom they decide gets to keep their baby and who doesn’t. Otherwise, power-hungry government officials like CPS workers are going to continue to develop more and more inventive ways to take children away from their parents for illegitimate reasons.
D. American Society’s Ridiculously Lenient Treatment Of Deadbeat Teenage Fathers
I am not trying to demonize all teenage fathers. I realize that there are teenage fathers who do step up to the plate and parent their children in the most responsible way. The late Landon Clifford was a good example of a teenage father who cared very much about the girl who gave birth to both of his children, and he was the best father that any man could be to his two daughters. His suicide was an awful tragedy, to say the least.
Unfortunately, most teenage fathers in our nation are not like the late Landon Clifford, and many of them turn hostile toward the underage mothers of their offspring after they find out that they are pregnant with their baby. Nevertheless, our society seldom ever holds these losers accountable for their actions, unless, of course, there is an actual violation of the statutory age of consent in their state jurisdiction.
What is even more so bewildering to me is the fact that these deadbeat teenage fathers' parents seldom ever want any part in the baby’s upbringing, and they do everything to avoid having to contribute financially to their grandchild’s rearing. Whenever they find out that their sexually promiscuous son has gotten an underage girl pregnant, the first thing that they usually do is insist upon a paternity test. What is so outrageous about it is that most of these underage girls who become pregnant are not bad girls.
Most of these underage girls have never even had a sexual experience before they become involved with these deadbeat teenage fathers or prospective deadbeat teenage fathers, and they probably would never have become sexually active at a very young age if they had never met these boys. Fortunately, our Congress has made legislative changes to compel paternal grandparents to pay child support on behalf of their underage son under certain circumstances until their son comes of age. However, our society and our nation both have a long way to go before the rights of teenage mothers will be completely protected and the best interests of their offspring will be safeguarded.
What I find so bizarre is that after Deputy Sheriff Royce James caught Tyler Thompson with a 13-year-old girl in Volusia County, Florida, nobody in the press, the media, or the court of public opinion ever seemed to bring up the subject of that same 13-year-old girl possibly having become pregnant from her sexual encounter with the 22-year-old man. What is so ironic about it is that self-proclaimed experts will rant and rave on television talk shows or television interview shows about how girls that age are much more likely to become pregnant if they date a man significantly older than them. On the other hand, whenever a teenage boy gets an underage girl pregnant, somehow our society never passes judgment on him or even as so much attempts to hold him accountable for radically changing that girl’s life. It is as though our society seeks every way to avoid seeing the bigger picture regarding this same issue.
One of my suggestions for a solution to the epidemic of deadbeat teenage fathers is to draft these losers into our nation’s military once they turn 18 as described in my article titled “Should Deadbeat Teenage Fathers Be Drafted?” If parents know that there is a possibility that their sexually promiscuous teenage son will be drafted once he is legally old enough to vote in a presidential election, they will take every measure they can to stop him from sleeping around with underage girls. For example, if such a law existed and a 17-year-old boy were to tell his parents that he was spending the weekend with his 16-year-old girlfriend, those parents would immediately go into tough-love mode with him. However, so long as parents know there are no legal consequences for their teenage son getting an underage girl pregnant, they are going to allow for him to engage in his sexual promiscuity frequently and aggressively.
E. My Final Thoughts Regarding This Topic
Years and even decades go by, and thousands of discussions about teenage pregnancy and teenage motherhood take place; but our society never seems to change in the way it deals with these same issues. Too many parents seem to believe that there are no consequences for allowing their teenage sons to engage in sexual promiscuity so long as those boys cannot get pregnant. However, society ends up paying for this widespread apathy in the end in the form of juvenile delinquency, a rapidly growing welfare state, and other unpleasant problems.
If the press, the media, and the court of public opinion can put as much as energy as they do into getting riled up and worked up into a frenzy every time a 13-year-old girl runs away from home with a significantly older man that she met online, why can’t they stand up for the rights of teenage mothers and make noise about it to the world? It is as though our society has allowed itself to fall into the vicious cycle of double thinking that can only harm Americans in the long run.
I do not wish to be speculative about anything. However, Tyler Thompson could very well have been one of those sexually promiscuous boys who spent his adolescent years philandering middle-school and high-school girls. His parents probably chalked it all off as normal adolescent behavior. Then once he got past 19 years old, he likely found that females in his peer circles had become too wise to fall for his shenanigans. It could explain what caused him to gravitate toward a middle-school girl instead of a woman his own age when he went searching for action on the Internet. Mr. Thompson became kind of like the master manipulator described in the lyrics of the song below, except that women his own age are not as easily impressed with his girl-chasing tactics as adolescent girls are.
The Song Titled "Don't Give In To Him" By Gary Puckett And The Union Gap
Mr. Thompson's reasons for doing what he did are difficult to pinpoint without knowing him personally. Nevertheless, he can no longer use the excuse that he is an underage kid for having had sexual intercourse with a 13-year-old girl as he would have been able to do so 7 or 8 years ago, despite that he may have viewed underage teenage sex as an inalienable right upon coming of age. His behavior reminds me of that saying that old habits die hard. In any event, before he did what he did, I do not believe that he was an incel and I can be sure that he was definitely not a perma-virgin despite what some know-it-alls may believe about him.
If our society allows and encourages teenage boys to be sexually promiscuous during their formative years, we cannot expect them to become decent, law-abiding citizens once they become young adults in their twenties. These boys will go on to be at risk, and it could very well be that Mr. Thompson is the end result of such societal shortcomings.
Nevertheless, even though I do not believe that we should encourage adolescent girls to become sexually active at young ages, our society should not treat them with disdain if they become pregnant and decide to keep their baby. These girls need emotional support from all of us, and they need the American people to stand up for their rights. They do not need to be sent on guilt trips or shamed. Only we as Americans can take that first step to bringing about such a positive change.
