India got Independence in 1947 & the way India got it was a Non-violent protest started by Mahatma Gandhi. There are only few countries in the world which were able to do this. Although there are many who contributed in it, but the biggest contribution was of the “Father of our nation”, MAHATMA GANDHI.

India was the richest country in 17th Century, at the time of British rule. Columbus knew it & he set off to find India & founded America by mistake.

India stands at top among the English Speaking Countries. It is the largest English speaking nation.


India stands 2nd in the count of no. of scientists & doctors in the world. All over the world people come to INDIA to get there diseases cured & our scientists are all over NASA & other research institutions.


Vishnu temple in Tirupathi is world’s largest pilgrimage destination. Around 30000 people visit here daily & contribute about 6 million dollars. Even bigger than Mecca & Rome.


Other than Japan & US, India is the only country to build Super Computer.


The Bailey Bridge built in Ladakh by Indian Army soldiers is the world’s highest bridge at present.


Indian Railways employs about a million people. One of the largest employer’s in world.


Most numbers of Post Offices are located in INDIA.


There are more than 3 LAC mosques in India, many more than any other Country.


About 5000 years ago, YOGA was started & it was started in INDIA.


Martial Arts was created in INDIA & then spreaded all over the world.

Well this is a never ending list, which I have to stop here. Above mentioned facts are only few out of thousands of facts about INDIA which makes every INDIAN proud.

I'd have appreciated it better written with better grammar - as the adverts for English apples told us back in the 70's, "Polish up yer English" (colloquial).

Additionally you've probably got more cricket players than anyone else! When I was a museum steward at Lord's cricket ground - for three seasons - the greatest number of visitors was from the sub-continent.

Seriously I think you could have made a bit more of this as an informative Hub-page without the 'plug', it reads like an advert for India Tourism. Like the pictures, though.
