1.There are two kinds of routing numbers.
1.ABA Routing Number(also known as routing transit number), ABA means
(American Bankers Association).
2.ACH Routing Number, ACH means (Automated Clearing House).
Many banks use the same routing number for ABA transfers as ACH transfers, but some do not.
2.ABA routing number is a nine digit bank code,used in the United States.
This code was designed to facilitate the sorting, bundling, and shipment
of paper checks back to the payer’s (check-writer’s) account.
since 2004,it’s also used in the transmission of electronic copies of the checks.
3.ACH routing number is also a nine digit bank code,used in the United States.
ACH(Automated Clearing House) process direct deposits, bill payments, and other such automated transfers.
Unlike ABA, ACH is entirely electronic,some banks and institutions use the same 9 digit routing number for ABA transfers as ACH transfers, but some do not.
