Are You Struggling to Make Money Online?
Making money online is a topic that never seems to get old. People are constantly searching for the golden nugget that will help them make money online without the hard work that should go along with it. If you type “How to make money online” into Google more than 3,800,000,000 results will come up. That’s a lot of content! If you are new to making money online, this number will overwhelm and confuse you.
If you have tried everything from affiliate marketing to dropshipping and you have made zero dollars so far, there is a reason. In this article, I am going to tell you the number one reason why you are struggling to make money on the Internet. Don’t listen to all the YouTube gurus, most of them have a course to sell therefore, their content is vague and confusing, they just want you to buy their course to learn the “real” way of making money online.
Let me give you an example, affiliate marketing. Have you heard of affiliate marketing? It’s where you promote other people’s products and get a commission every time someone clicks on your link and buys something. Most of the so-called gurus online will show you their earnings but they won’t tell you that the earnings they show you are not affiliate earnings. They are vendor earnings, money they earn when other affiliates sell their products.
There is a lot of content online that will make you think that making money online is so difficult however, it really is not that hard.
In this article, I am going to tell you the number one reason why you are struggling to make money online. Here goes!
You Can't Stick to One Thing
There are many reasons why you are not making money online but one of the main reasons why you struggle to make money on the Internet is, you refuse to stick to one thing. I know there are many people out there who talk about creating multiple streams of income. I don’t disagree with the idea of creating more than one income however if you are just starting out, you need to focus fully on achieving success with one thing.
I know, you might have been trying for years with no results but you are probably trying one thing and then trying many other things at the same time. When one thing doesn’t produce extraordinary results after a couple of months, you move on to the next thing. In my experience, focusing on one thing, in the beginning, is the easiest way to make money online.
I am not going to sit here and tell you that there is a one size fits all way of making money on the Internet. There are many ways however, I have had the most success with freelancing and outsourcing. I own and manage a content writing company and I create lots of content on the side for my own personal income.
When I built my writing income to $10,000 per month, I started blogging and monetised my blogs with ads and affiliate links. I will talk more about affiliate marketing in another article, I am no expert but I do make a sizeable income from affiliate marketing.
For me, blogging and creating content for clients are the best ways to make money online. I like to stress that this might not be the same for everyone. However, I enjoy a decent income from these two methods. The truth is, nothing happened overnight, I started creating content for clients in 2007 and I am still earning money from it.
If you are still struggling to make money on the Internet, take a long, hard look at the methods you are currently using to make money online.
Are you working on too many things? If so, clear the clutter and focus on one thing. I repeat, focus on ONE thing, I know, it is tempting to try and work on a million things at once however, that is the worst way of trying to get ahead. Stick to ONE thing, work on it until you start earning $10,000 per month consistently, then add another income stream if you wish.

Good advice, Abena. The main trouble I see is that, these days, people expect to get rich quick. Many aren’t willing to concentrate on one thing put their time and effort into making a success out of that. I constantly read that you need to find your particular niche that you are good at or knowledgeable in and focus on that.
On Quora for instance, there are constant questions like “I have been freelancing on Upwork and Fiverr etc for one month and have no buyers or sales, please tell me what I am doing wrong?” One look at their gigs or profile tells you they are in an oversaturated niche where they are competing against thousands of already established sellers, or their basic grasp of English is poor making their gigs instantly unattractive to buyers.
But to make anything work you need patience. If what you have to offer is worthwhile and in demand, it will make money given time and effort.
