How to Withdraw from Paypal Account to Unionbank Visa Card Philippines

Paypal money transfer to Unionbank Visa ATM Debit Card. Paypal is one of the world’s most convenient ways to send and receive money online. Working online and earning money like here in Hubpages and participating in the Ad Program requires Paypal because the income is sent to our Paypal account. Since there are more Filipino hubbers here now, I thought of sharing this hub about how to withdraw money from Paypal to Unionbank card or EON visa electron in the Philippines.

Why I chose Unionbank first among other banks here? It is simply because Unionbank is the only bank in the Philippines which officially announced their connection to Paypal. Other banks might have released their bank codes in verifying Paypal accounts, but they never were vocal about it. In the early days, online transfer of funds is done via the Unionbank Visa Electron. Now the bank launched cooler and easier way to link Paypal money transfer to Unionbank account by means of EON Visa Debit Card which offers lots of amazing services to its clients not only cash card accounts, debit card, credit card and more wire money bank account stuff.

With this, you can shop at malls or in the internet using the Unionbank EON Visa Debit Card. What I love most about it is the online banking where I can see my Paypal withdrawal successfully transferred to my Unionbank EON account. This is done by the EON Cyber Account which is so easy to set up. Applying for EON visa card is so easy too. I’ve discussed everything below so read on.

Advantages of using Unionbank to Paypal

  • No initial deposit
  • No maintaining balance
  • Doesn’t charge fees when withdrawing money from Paypal
  • Can be used as ATM savings account that could earn interest
  • EON Card only costs P350 (annual fee)

How to withdraw and transfer money from Paypal to Unionbank Visa Debit Card

Requirements you need are:

  • Paypal account
  • Unionbank EON Visa Debit card
  • EON Cyber Account (optional but I still recommend having this)

Important Notes:

Your name and address in your Paypal account and Unionbank EON card must be exactly the same or else you will have problems in verification

Maintain your Cyber account active to have continuous access. Not logging in more than 90 days may cause the system to freeze your access. You need to call their customer’s support for this to activate it again.

I have my BPI ATm card, can I use this to transfer Paypal Funds?

Consolacion Miravite from Philippines on June 19, 2015:

My eon car expired. I withdraw my funds through my daughter's BPI account. Always work that way :)

CHad on June 19, 2015:

Good Day.

I was just wondering. My Eon Debit Card already Expired and I haven't renewed it yet. Could I still withdraw my Paypal Funds to my Eon Card through Bank Account option even if my Card has already expired? Thanks

Consolacion Miravite from Philippines on March 14, 2015:

You will have to withdraw again. Use withdraw to atm account NOT to bank account. However, you need to wait for the money to return to Paypal. That happened to me before.

This reminds me that I have to renew my Eon card again.

Do I need to submit proof of billing when applying for EON card o just the IDs? Thanks!

twentyfive (author) on April 30, 2014:

I renewed mine and it was free. :)

Bugoyski on April 30, 2014:

Hi my eon card was already expired (Oct 2013), how much will it cost me to renew it?

twentyfive (author) on April 13, 2014:

Yes, UnionBank is so far the only bank that is vocal about linking to Paypal in the Philippines so it's the most sure thing for Paypal earnings and transfer. I got my EON card after 5 minutes when I went to UnionBank. :) I've never tried any other bank in the Phil. with transferring my earnings from Paypal coz they have no official feature of this yet. Thank for commenting and glad to see fellow Filipino here :)

Consolacion Miravite from Philippines on April 13, 2014:

I started to use Union Bank Econ card when I started with freelance work. Payment is usually via Paypal and you need an intermediary bank here in the Philippines. Eon is the cheapest bank to do transfers, and I applied online. I got the card 3 to 4 days later.

The fee for transferring the money from Paypal to eon is $5 - if withdrawal is below P7,000. I think it is cheaper to transact with BPI. I am not sure though.

twentyfive (author) on February 06, 2013:

Oh that is odd. You can withdraw as long as your card has fund on it and as long as the card is not expired :)

Annie on February 05, 2013:

Hi twentyfive :) is it true that you could just withdraw one time each month with the EON?

what kind of paypal account should i open premier or personal?

targom on November 09, 2012:

good day,

please explain in pure layman's term what paypal is all about

twentyfive (author) on October 29, 2012:

You have to wait for 4 days or more before it will be credited to your EON account. I get mine usually 5 days because weekends and holidays here in the Philippines and abroad are different. Don't worry, if that money is not successfully transferred, Paypal will tell you and they will have it back on your account

Aileen on October 27, 2012:

How do you know that money transfer is unsuccessful. I have checked on my Paypal and it has stated that transfer to bank account has completed but it's not reflecting yet on my eon account. Today is the fourth day since I transferred the money. Do I have any reason to be worried? I have transferred money from Paypal to my eon account earlier and it had been successful. I don't see a reason why it should take this long. If you can advise me that would be very much appreciated. :)

twentyfive (author) on July 16, 2012:

Hi Geaorge :) My answers to your queries

1. I think they will charge you if you transfer from Paypal to UnionBank Savings account however using EON, no charge for you if you transfer 7000 and above

2. EON Cyber account is an online banking for EON card holders. Applying for EON Cyber Account is free and done so easily. Cyber account is applicable for EON and other UnionBank products. Only apply for this online banking at their official website at

Related to this topic:

1. If I transfer from PayPal to Unionbank Savings Deposit Account would that still be free?

2. If I apply for EON Cyber Account, do I have to pay for the P350 annual fee or is it only applicable if you apply for the EON Debit card?

Thank you!

twentyfive (author) on May 22, 2012:

I use their new EON card too. It's so easy to withdraw money from Paypal to the card and use them on shopping or simply withdraw them. Unionbank has been so great with this. Hope they lessen the annual fee though hehe

JP Carlos from Quezon CIty, Phlippines on May 22, 2012:

I use Unionbank - EON card and it's been great. I have not tried with other banks like BPI.
