Infobarrel User Review

One of the best ways to create a passive income stream online is by writing articles on revenue sharing sites, such as InfoBarrel. Imagine, writing on the topics that you're familiar with and after publishing them online, it continues day and night, generating you passive income.

The most appealing aspect of writing for rev-share sites like InfoBarrel and HubPages is that they're not get-rich-quick schemes. If one wants to earn money writing online, they must realize it takes a substantial amount of time and effort. To start accumulating the amount of income desired, you'll have to make a commitment to write as often, and as well as you can.

It will also involve learning over an extended period of time. If you start out trying to assimilate as much as you can, as fast as you can, it will take a toll on what knowledge is actually being absorbed. Enthusiasm is great, but don't overwhelm yourself. It's important to manage one's expectations when it involves writing online for income.

There are many variables and factors that will determine your success, not everyone will have the same highs or the same lows. But the best initial advice I can give is, don't give up, it takes time. But once it's built, it's there 24/7 to make you money while you're sleeping.

How to Sign up for Infobarrel

Another beautiful thing about writing content for InfoBarrel, it's 100% free to sign up and become a member. Immediately after filling out the registration, you can start that very minute, creating articles and publishing them to be featured. Members can write on any subject or topics that they want.

However, most quality articles come from a person with personal experience or intimate knowledge of the particular topic. Submitted articles will undergo editorial review before being published. After your article is approved by InfoBarrel staff, it will immediately go live, and start earning you passive income.

There's no maximum to how many articles you can submit, the sky's the limit. One of the keys to being successful is to write as often as you possibly can, if you're serious about being a freelance writer online, it really should be a daily routine. Although quality content will always be king, a writer that wants to make an appreciable amount of earnings will write often, essentially adding to their passive income.

Think of it like fishing, the quality of the content is the quality of the bait you're using, and the published article is the hook. Wouldn't it make sense to have as many hooks in the water as possible? The more quality articles you create, the more traffic you will ultimately end up receiving. As far as online revenue is concerned, more traffic equals more money.

How Does InfoBarrel Work?

Writing sites like HubPages and InfoBarrel work with writers to earn ad revenue, members write and publish articles and they take care of the rest. Ads are generated on published articles, a major portion of the time, you will collect revenue, and the rest of the time, revenue goes to the operating site.

If you're just starting out, InfoBarrel or HubPages would be an ideal starting point. Payment is done via PayPal, so you'll definitely need an account there. You're paid with money that is generated by Adsense ads which appear on your articles. InfoBarrel offers a 75/25 split in revenue.

Meaning when visitors come to your article, 75% of the time the article will be your ads, and the other 25% towards InfoBarrels ads. Authors will also make an undefined amount of commission for anyone who clicks on the ads. You do not need your own Adsense account, instead, they'll be InfoBarrel's Adsense account, they'll give you 75% of your earnings that was generated with your article.

Additionally, you'll also be able to include two Amazon capsules in content that you publish, giving your article a chance to earn Amazon commissions, if a visitor clicks on the item and purchases something. Even if you just lead the buyer there, and they end up buying different items, you still get the commission for any sold product. You'll have to sign up at with Amazon Associate program, which happens to be free as well.

Learn How to Make Passive Income on Infobarrel

As with taking up most things, InfoBarrel has a learning curve. Prospective freelance writers need to dive in knowing that it will take time, how much time depends entirely on the individual. But here are a general list of activities that should be exercised on a daily basis if one wants to be successful writing on InfoBarrel:

  • Write your heart out, concentrate on topics you are passionate about or have a personal experience with, at least.
  • Take your time, building a passive income with InfoBarrel requires a lot of patience, I'm quite certain many high earning authors will agree with that fact.
  • Learn more about SEO(search engine optimization) and keywords. Few freelance writers are able to write and naturally be search engine friendly. Set aside some time, each day to learn more about SEO, and do more research on keywords your target audience uses to find articles on that specific topic.
  • Build backlinks, to drive more traffic to your articles.
  • Quitting too soon, most people who attempt to earn writing online, become discouraged too quickly and throw in the towel too early. To make it writing online, you must keep learning and growing every day. One doesn't get far without a little perseverance in the business of freelance writing.

Additionally, you'll also be able to include two Amazon capsules in content that you publish, giving your article a chance to earn Amazon commissions, if a visitor clicks on the item and purchases something.

Is InfoBarrel Right for You?

InfoBarrel isn't right for everyone. We all learn at a different pace, and some people get too frustrated to push forward, and inevitably will quit. There are some that invest a few months and expect money to fall from the skies, and they become disillusioned when they realize it will take much more effort and dedication.

But you shouldn't give up if you see a progression, just keep adding to your online portfolio of articles, and your earnings will rise. I'll include HubPages because I am writing for them as well. Which is better? There's no clear cut answer to that question, but there are differences that might appeal to different writers, dealing with different situations.

Here are a few reasons why a freelance writer would prefer InfoBarrel over HubPages. Such as not needing their own Adsense account, which can be a struggle for most to qualify for--but if you're a prolific writer, you shouldn't have a problem getting approved. Additionally, InfoBarrel offers 75/25 for ad revenue shares, HubPages rev-share is 60/40.

But there are reasons why many people prefer to write for HP over IB. For starters, there's always someone in the forums waiting to help with any questions or concerns you might encounter. HubPages has a vast amount of writers, exchanging ideas, advice, and the level of support can not be overstated. InfoBarrel is a slow and steadily growing company, therefore will have fewer articles in certain niches to compete against.

Earn Passive Income With InfoBarrel

After all, is said and done, both are great rev-share sites that have solid reputations. It is common for a freelance writer to be an author on both sites, intentionally keeping their eggs in multiple baskets. So, it's highly recommended to sign up for both, Hubpages and InfoBarrel, and decide for yourself which one is a more suitable fit. A must-have quality when it comes to achieving success in this field, one must love to write.

If you don't possess a vested interest and passion for writing, it would be very unlikely that writing online for InfoBarrel or similar rev-share sites would be right for you. But you won't know unless you try. Thanks for reading, please do not hesitate to share your opinions on this article, I wish everyone the best of luck! Good article.

What's the current scene with infobarrel? Does anyone know?

Wesman Todd Shaw from Kaufman, Texas on March 15, 2019:

I like new comments coming in on this page. They remind me I still have content on IB which I need to rewrite to publish here, where I do make some decent money.

Wesman Todd Shaw from Kaufman, Texas on March 14, 2019:

You could dig up a corpse that is 2,000 years dead, and it would still be more alive than Infobarrel.

I keep wanting to do new things, but I've still got stuff on IB that should be moved to here. I thank Michael for this article, and that its comments remind me, yet again, to work on that.

IB is as dead as dead could be.

Umesh Chandra Bhatt from Kharghar, Navi Mumbai, India on March 11, 2019:

Very useful article.

Paddy Michelson from Australia on July 31, 2018:

I think I will stick with Hubpages at this point.

Michael Kismet (author) from Northern California on April 09, 2018:

Hey Wesman, or Todd, Mr, Shaw?

I really should update this article, cause Info Barrel is a shell of it’s former self. Hubpages is the real deal! Thanks for your input, rock on WTS.

Wesman Todd Shaw from Kaufman, Texas on April 09, 2018:

Oh man, I was all in on Infobarrell at one time. They've really just sort of abandoned the place, so far as I can tell.

One of the things I really need to do is re-write my IB stuff for this website, as the Hubpages network is not just being maintained, but being steadily improved.

ShailaSheshadri from Bengaluru on February 05, 2018:

Thanks. This article is very informative. What I want to find out is, whether I can use in InfoBarrell my own pictures that I have used in HP? I want to try InfoBarrell for some time.

Gilbert Arevalo from Hacienda Heights, California on August 15, 2017:

Thanks for giving helpful information about Infobarrel, Michael.

Carol Morris on May 17, 2016:

Thanks for the great introduction to Infobarrel.

Country Sunshine from Texas on December 20, 2014:

I'm interested in learning more about Infobarrel. I have a number of articles on Hubpages, and they don't seem to be all that profitable. I also have articles on Wizzley and Zujava, and found all to be good sites. Thanks for the info!

D. Shaw from Austin, Texas on October 11, 2014:

This was a great read. I'll be giving InfoBarrell a try for sure. I think it'll be fun. I'm pursuing video game journalism as a new career so I'm ready.

Michael Kismet (author) from Northern California on October 08, 2014:

I've been quite remiss with keeping up with comments, I apologize. Thank you everyone for their input, it is greatly appreciated.

Hello John, I hope you give InfoBarrel another chance, I remember writing my first three articles and making a steady $1-2 every month--and it motivated me to concentrate on InfoBarrel, while Hubpages was hurt by the recent roll out of the dreaded Panda update. I appreciate your candor, I wish you much success in future endeavors.

John R Wilsdon from Superior, Arizona USA on October 05, 2014:

Lest there be confusion about my comment, I also have an account as John000 with 62 hubs. GoldRod LM was my transferred lens.

John R Wilsdon from Superior, Arizona USA on October 05, 2014:

I have had an account at InfoBarrel for quite awhile and have about 17 articles. What I have found though is that HubPages is much more responsive, has a wider audience, and pays a whole lot better. So I choose to concentrate here, but that is just one guy's opinion. Some say it pays to spread your work around in case of a corporate explosion and subsequent sinking. Perhaps that is true? I am in the process of deleting my best articles at InfoBarrel and rewriting for HubPages. To date I have earned a bit over 2 dollars after a number of years at IB versus hundreds of dollars at HubPages.

Rajesh Kumar Giri from Delhi, India on September 28, 2014:

It is an excellent informative hub. Though I had registered myself earlier with infobarrel but could not start. but after reading the hub now I am ready to dedicate time there also.

I've written there, but only wrote 2 articles. I should get busy and write more. Thanks for the info.

Audrey Howitt from California on September 25, 2014:

Very good to know--so how does Infobarrel differ from HP? Or is that another hub?

ologsinquito from USA on September 25, 2014:

I forgot to say that I really liked this article. :)

ologsinquito from USA on September 25, 2014:

I've been very happy with Infobarrel. I'd add more content there if I had the time.

Michael Kismet (author) from Northern California on September 24, 2014:

Thanks for your input, guys.

You're welcome Homebaker, you should also check out "Chitika", it's a great alternative if you have problems getting approved for an Adsense account. It's quick and easy to sign up and is very similar to how Adsense ads work.

Chona Fernandez from Philippines on September 24, 2014:

Thank you Michael for this very informative article. You got it right to the bones about the Adsense account. I have been a member of hubpages for 5 years (if my memory didn't fail me) and I couldn't monetize my articles. I will try with InfoBarrel.

OLDNAVY on September 24, 2014:

Great Article. I agree that it does take time to write quality articles for InfoBarrel.
