How to Memorize SEO Training with these simple Techniques.

Tips To Remember SEO

Learning how to do SEO Training, along with other ways to Make Money on the Internet, can be a daunting thing. Most of us sit in front of the computer reading all the seo tips, or watching the money making video's and then the second we finish watching, something distracts us and everything that we have just learnt goes completely out of our heads.

There are loads of articles that tell you how to do this, or link to that, and we leave a comment stating how amazing that was thanks. We may even bookmark it. But do we actually do anything about it afterwards?

Yes, there are a lot of very clever people out there that have all the ideas, put them into place and make loads of Money. But the majority of us make one mistake. We don't change.

The trouble with us humans is that we get ourselves into deeply ingrained habits and for some reason, the bad habits always seem to hang on better than the good ones. I have no idea why this is. Especially as we get older, we get set in our ways, and being a bit like a piece of elastic, we stretch and stretch, only to ping straight back into the same old, well, same old! We all want to Make Money, or learn SEO. But how on earth are we going to do it, if we can't get off our backsides and take notice, for goodness sake!

So I got to thinking. Maybe the reason why we keep doing the wrong things is because we presume that everything we do, has to be done on the Internet. Save the hub or article, bookmark it for future reference and so on. Sorry to disappoint you but you are wrong. This hasn't worked yet, has it? SEO and Making Money tips are not going to jump out of the computer and stick to you, like a piece of sticky glue. And that's the problem.

Making Charts

Human beings need to see things. I know that is stating the obvious, but it is true. So the first thing to do is GET AWAY FROM THE COMPUTER! Sorry to yell but I have to get it to sink in. When I say get away, I don't mean turn it off.

The first thing to do is find an article that explains about SEO or how to Make Money and keep it on the screen. Then go and get a large sheet of paper, or if you have a kitchen pin board, even better. Now, start taking notes. If you feel that your brain won't like a page filled with writing, get office Post It Stickers and write down certain words or phrases.

Make sure you use a big black pen or crayons and write them down in big letters. For example. SEO, or Make Money, or Use Tags, Link Urls and so on. Stick these to your pin board or even around your PC screen so that every time you turn on your PC, there they are, in your face!

But the best way of doing this is to make a chart, and stick it on the wall right in front of you. Make it colorful. You don't want it to be dark and boring. Your mind, which keeps getting the bad habits, remember, will eventually forget the chart is there. Make sure you write down everything that you feel is important. Once again, you don't have to use sentences, or loads of jargon.

Just keep it to big, bold writing. Even draw smiley faces next to the phrases or words if you have too! Just make sure that it gets your attention. Every time you sit down, you have got to be able to see it. Leave a box of crayons or felt tip pens next to it, so if you find yourself staring at the chart, not knowing what to do with all that information, just start drawing a picture, or even scribbling. Sounds stupid I know, but it will keep your attention on the chart. And that's got to be a good thing.

tape recorder public domain

Tape It.

Most of us tend to sit in the same place when we are on the computer. That's a good thing. The reason being is that if we move around, we may forget what we have to do. Just by sitting at the PC, it puts us in the proper mode, if you like. You can test this by trying it when you have lost something. Just by going back to the original place and re-tracing your steps, your mind 'remembers' what you did with the lost object. So, you are sitting in your normal place. What's on your desk? If it's anything like me, then its clutter! So, go get yourself a tape recorder. Most of us still have an old Walkman or even one of those seventies one's with the keys at the front. Place it on your desk. Make sure its at the front, or else you will end up pushing it to the back with all the other junk.

Tape yourself saying a few Phrases. Whether Seo, Money, doing links etc, make sure its loud and in a firm voice. It has to be your voice. The reason for this being, if its someone else telling you, your mind will start getting stubborn and after a while you will probably start swearing at the recorder! You can't do that if its your voice! Let's be honest, you would sound stupid yelling at yourself!

Get into the habit of playing it every time you sit down. Even if you are just reading the paper, or doing the crossword. You can turn it down really low so that it is subliminal. In other words, so soft, that your conscious mind can't hear it, but your subconscious can! Oh yes, it will have to do as it's told!

Put Pictures of Successful People on Your Wall

Another idea is to either put loads of photos of successful people on your wall, or try the old reverse psychology and use pictures of ambitious men or women, who you hate! I know, you will end up hating them even more! But bare with me. By doing the first option, you will come to realise that actually they are no different from you. They just have the savvy to figure out how to make money.

By placing the 'hated' people there, you would think that it may put you off. Don't you bet on it. Their smiling, sickly grins will only make you more determined!

Buy Their Books

Scroll to Continue

I know this may sound obvious, but why not buy one of their books? We all have our reading habits, and let's face it, they are stuck in a rut, too. When was the last time you bought a book that was totally out of character for you? These people became famous somehow, why not learn their techniques? And there is no reason why it can't help you. Try it, you just never know, you may find that it sinks in easily because you are used to reading. Let's face it, we always remember the books we read!

memory training

memory training

How to Memorize SEO Training.

So, along with post it stickers, wall charts and my favorite, using a tape recorder, all these ideas should allow you to train your brain in the right way. So many people try to change their bad habits, but bounce straight back into the bad. It takes time to make your subconscious mind listen. Rome wasn't built in a day. And your bad habits, or lets tell the truth here, your laziness, and mine, needs a kick up the backside to bring yourself back to the ambitious, bright intelligent person that you once were. So if you want to learn SEO or How to Make Money, throw away all that trash from your desk, get the old tape recorder out and start writing. Or drawing!

Give it a try. You never know, you may just surprise yourself.

Hi, SilverGenes, the comment box has been playing up, I lost loads last night! I have one of those little dictaphone things that if I really need to remember something I will just say it on there, as long as I remember to put batteries in it! lol thanks again nell

SilverGenes on October 27, 2011:

I think my comment to you just vaporized in the cyber ether! Anyway, I enjoyed this thoroughly and will be posting notes in my office space right now. I'm going to go check my title too (thanks, Cardisa) and see if I can get my mind thinking a bit differently. Nell, this was filled with good advice and I like that recording part too. My brain will have no excuse then! Thanks so much ;-)

Nell Rose (author) from England on October 27, 2011:

Hi, ukbusiness, thanks for reading, it seems that we need a push to help us along, my post it notes are everywhere, and a good old notebook too!

ukbusiness from Bristol, UK on October 27, 2011:

Post it notes were my favoured way of keeping focused, thats been superseeded by a whiteboard and many flow-charts now though

Nell Rose (author) from England on August 14, 2011:

Sharilee Swaity from Canada on August 11, 2011:

Nell, great ideas! I know what you mean about forgetting about SEO. It is such a stretch for anyone over 30, I think! But I keep trying to learn. Thanks for the encouraging article!

Hello, hello, from London, UK on August 04, 2011:

I think I need a sledge hammer as well to knock avery note in. Oh. SEO, will be the end of me.

Nell Rose (author) from England on August 03, 2011:

Hi, Audrey, I think that sometimes we need to see what we are supposed to be doing, I definitely need something visual to get my brain working! lol so I have written all over the picture on my wall, and now hopefully it will work! then again...! lol thanks again nell

Audrey Kirchner from Washington on August 02, 2011:

Interesting things to incorporate - I find that the whole SEO thing is just plain overwhelming. I'm bookmarking this and coming back with a jug of coffee and I'm going to try and get the steps on how to remember it into my head~ I do have a couple of books but they seem already so outdated.

Nell Rose (author) from England on August 02, 2011:

Hi, Koffee, I am trying to find my old tape recorder, I know I got it somewhere! lol that would do it for me, to listen to a voice keep repeating it over and over will be great, I might actually remember it! lol thanks nell

Hi, Gracie, thanks, so many different ways to try and get the ideas in my stupid head! hopefully one of these will work! ha ha

GracieLake from Arizona on August 02, 2011:

You always have such great posts Nell Rose! This one was so interesting, and I'm going to try some of your ideas.

Susan Hazelton from Northern New York on August 02, 2011:

Great tips and advice. I think for me the tape recorder would be the most helpful. Although I do find that a scattering of post-it notes is quite useful in rinding you of important things. It amy be hard to teach an old dog new tricks but it can be sone. Up and useful..

Nell Rose (author) from England on August 02, 2011:

Hi, Chatkath, thanks for reading, I am always forgetting how to do this, so I now have it written right in front of me on the wall! I may get a bell and ring it right in my ear to remind myself! lol need to do something! ha ha

Hi, kerlynb, yes you are right, I just think that as long as we do certain things that will make it help we can't do much more, hope it sorts itself out soon though, thanks for reading, cheers nell

Hi, tebo, that's just like me, the trouble is I like to write about all sorts of things, and they don't always give me the chance to do it properly, well anything to help me get the right idea in my head, is a good idea! lol thanks nell

Hi, Jama, yes this is great for anything else you need to remember, maybe its my age but I forget things sometimes, mind you its probably stress trying to run about after everybody! ha ha thanks again nell

Joanna McKenna from Central Oklahoma on August 01, 2011:

kerlynb has a good point. Panda has changed so many of the rules that even friends who consider themselves SEO experts are scratching their heads over what will still work and what won't.

At any rate what a great hub, Nell! Your methods can be applied to anything we want (or need) to remember. ;D

tebo from New Zealand on August 01, 2011:

I haven't mastered the SEO business. Writing little notes is a great idea. I shall read some info and do what you have suggested. Thanks for the tips.

kerlynb from Philippines, Southeast Asia, Earth ^_^ on August 01, 2011:

How can I even master SEO? :-( Hubbers even say search engines keep on changing their algorithm. Hmmm, guess just have to keep SEO basics in mind.

Kathy from California on August 01, 2011:

Great job, who doesn't need a little help with this! Hard enough to write it after getting your research together but we also have to remember to optimize otherwise no one will find it! Great Hub!!! Up and useful.

Nell Rose (author) from England on August 01, 2011:

Hi, christopher, as that advert on tv says, any little helps! ha ha thanks again nell

Hi, pras, thanks so much, I hope it helps, maybe people are already doing some of these things, but it took me a while! lol

Hi, Green Lotus, that's a great idea, I will have to have a go at that too, I have put a great big picture on my wall with loads of writing all over it now! I hope it sinks in to my stupid brain! ha ha cheers nell

Hi, Ruy, Trump is the guy who does the Aprentice isn't he? I watched the American version the other night, so much more interesting than that horrible Alan Sugar that we have to put up with! maybe I will put Sugars pic up, but then I may just have to throw darts at it! lol thanks again nell

Hi, Astra, thank you so much for reading, and I am glad you liked it, cheers nell

Hi, Dardia, if you scroll up to my first comment, you will see Cardisa? go over to her site, she has made a hub that explains things really well, okay? thanks for reading, cheers nell

Nell Rose (author) from England on August 01, 2011:

Hi, CMHypno, I agree, there is so much out there about SEO, and it just doesn't sink in for me, so I thought I would give it a go, then realised that my memory was useless trying to remember it all! lol thanks again nell

Darlene Yager from Michigan on August 01, 2011:

If only the remembering to do it were the problem for me, this would help. My problem however is that even though I am quite adept at many things, including a lot of computer software, is that I don't quite understand the whole SEO thing. How it works and why? If someone could write a hub I could understand. (hint) that would be wonderful. It is still a wonderful hub and probably helpful to others. Thanks, Nell.

Nell Rose (author) from England on August 01, 2011:

Hi, Pamela, thanks for reading, I just suddenly realised that I was doing everything wrong! lol obviously not on most of my hubs that I just love to write, like history etc, but I had no idea how to do this, so I thought I would actually put it up in front of me, so I can't ignore how to do it! lol thanks!

Nell Rose (author) from England on August 01, 2011:

Hi, Ddraig, I remember that well! lol my son has now moved 250 miles away to Wales, so I have plenty of time to do this, but feel lost without him here! thanks for reading, cheers nell

Cathy Nerujen from Edge of Reality and Known Space on August 01, 2011:

Thank you for a wonderful hub on SEO. I am just learning all about this as it is so important for being published on the web. And organsing yourself with charts and wall posters is good too. Successful people are very single-minded, as I have discovered. This is a hub for Success. I am tweeting this too. :)

Ruby Jean Richert from Southern Illinois on August 01, 2011:

Great tips nell. I love the idea of putting pictures of people you don't like on the wall above your computer. I might paper my room with 'The Don, Mr Trump' No kidding, i wouldn't have made it through nurses training without the trusty old tape recorder, and i use don't forget stickers all over my house. It's terrible when the brain begins to

Nell Rose (author) from England on August 01, 2011:

Hi, carrie, it suddenly came to me! lol what on earth was I doing? I think I may have got the idea right now, thanks nell

Hillary from Atlanta, GA on August 01, 2011:

Hi Nell, love those memory tips! I've been so engrossed in the seo stuff on all my sites, i havent had time to write! Now if i can only find the happy balance between the two, I'd be golden. I have; however, found that writing my excerpts and keywords before I write the body of my article helps me stay on track. Rated useful!

prasetio30 from malang-indonesia on August 01, 2011:

Unbelievable. This is so informative and useful for me. I know it looks hard to learn SEO. But we must try this to win the competition. Nell, you always come up with various topic. Very well written and I like it. I always learn from you. Thank you very much and you'll always be my teacher. Vote it up. God bless you. Cheers....

Love and peace, Prasetio

Christopher Antony Meade from Gillingham Kent. United Kingdom on August 01, 2011:

That seems like a good plan. I was trying to get on a course for SEO, and general website promotion. I felt it would be good to just sit in a room, with people trying to do the same thing, but that seems to have fallen through.

Perhaps I should give your idea a try.

Thanks Nell. You are a treasure.

CMHypno from Other Side of the Sun on August 01, 2011:

Interesting Hub Nell. Trouble is, if you are principally a writer all this SEO stuff tends to be a bit boring. Because I want to make a bit of money, I force myself to do it, but don't do nearly as much backlinking etc as I probably should.

However, I think that your chart is a great idea - nothing like a visual reminder - so will get drawing!

Pamela Oglesby from Sunny Florida on August 01, 2011:

This is a terrific plan. I learn so much better when reading and writing and I love the plan. I am bookmarking this hub to read probably a few times and I'm trying out the method on my next hub. Thanks for the great information. Rated awesome.

Emma from UK on August 01, 2011:

Hi Nell. Yes SEO is extremely daunting to me. Mainly because I do not get enough peace and quiet to study. So it looks like in September I may get a chance to significantly increase my learning in SEO when my children are back at school.

Thank you for the hub.x

carriethomson from United Kingdom on July 31, 2011:

Hey nell great hub!! theres so much to seo training! hard to remember.. thanx for these tips. And getting away from the computer is the best :-) i do love using postits for remembering things.

Nell Rose (author) from England on July 31, 2011:

Hi, Alastar, I saw on the news that the States were, well in a state! as long as the old folk are looked after, even over here they are being treated like second class citizens! and thanks for reading this, I suddenly dawned on me that we expect the pc to do everything! lol so I am going to be surrounded by notes saying LISTEN! ha ha thanks again nell

Alastar Packer from North Carolina on July 31, 2011:

Ah, simple but very effective....8:37 EST special report on the tube Nell. The old folks in the rest homes will still get their SS checks and won't wind up on the street. The Repubs & Obama have avoided default and agreed on something. Sorry Nell, nobody over here was looking forward to chaos. Your plan looks a good one. Thinking away from the screen for SEO memorization training by doing the tips you've provided will have good results. 'Train your brain in the right way' as you wrote, outta be a mantra for us.

Nell Rose (author) from England on July 31, 2011:

Hi, Cardisa, good idea, I totally forgot about that! I will get there, its trying to get my brain to stop grinding to a halt! lol thanks for your help, cheers nell

Carolee Samuda from Jamaica on July 31, 2011:

Hi Nell, just dropped in again to say thanks and you are welcomed.

One little advice..the title is a bit long..81 characters.

"Training for Memorizing SEO Techniques" with something like this, you can change it around a bit to make it unique to you. Google hates long titles.

Nell Rose (author) from England on July 31, 2011:

Hi, Cardisa, thanks for being so quick! lol I just realised that all the great hubs, yours included, just seemed to skim my brain and I didn't want that anymore! ha ha so I have put up a picture of a lady shooting her computer?!.. and all around it I have written, seo, tags, etc and it seems to be going into my dumb brain! lol thanks again nell

Carolee Samuda from Jamaica on July 31, 2011:

Hi Nell, very good tips. I hope I'll be able to tear myself away from the computer screen to try the. You did shout at me to GET AWAY FROM MY COMPUTER!...LOL.

Computer addiction...I let you know how the training is going. Thanks!
