Every 12 and 13 year old wants to be able to rake in money successfully, but it is impossible to find employment at that age since they are still too young to join the workforce. This can really cause some kids to become depressed, or feel like they are not smart enough to try their hand at a small dose of independence. Therefore, I present one of the best ways for kids to make money fast without having to jump through tons of hoops. With a little bit of trial and error, a younger kid can perfect one or more of these methods to earn income until he or she is old enough to find a job with a local employer!

This leaves an open opportunity for many teenagers to make some money. Kids can wear some of the coolest pieces they have to school, then let people know that they are for sale (along with tons of other clothes) when they are complemented. The child can carry business cards that have a web address on them, so that they can hand them to those kids as well. The web address could be a facebook page or a website where the child keeps photos of all of the clothes that are available for sale, so that they can be viewed by peers and family. How great of an idea is that?? This is definitely one of the easiest ways for a 12 or 13 year old to earn money.

How Kids Can Make Money with the Help of Online Stores
With selling platforms such as Ebay, and ad sites such as Craigslist, it is now easier than ever for 11, 12, and 13 year olds to make some serious cash by selling clothes. By teaching yourself about how kids can make money by simply utilizing these platforms to advertise, the children can quickly and easily build up a sales voice and push their clothes and accessories into the open. Both will require a parent's assistance and permission, but they give the child one more sales outlet for their clothing. They allow the potential customer to find the dresses, shirts, slacks, shoes, and anything else that the kid has to offer through a search or browse feature; this is much better than having to ask people if they are interested in buying the clothing.
Where Can A Teen Get Clothes to Upcycle and Resell??
If a kid cannot find clothes at home to resell or upcycle, then they may need to turn to local places to find some clothing. The best place to check is friends and family. Many households have lots of clothes they no longer want or use; and they will often times give them away. For a 12 year old who wants to know how to earn cash, this is a great opportunity!
If family or friends is not an option, yard sales and garage sales are a great idea as well. It can be a real pain to find clothing at these sales that is viable, but not always! Once a kid and his or her parent become seasoned "yard salers", they can eye great sales without suffering through the bad ones. Most will offer clothes for mere pennies, a real benefit when you hit the jackpot. Many people could walk away spending only $2 or $3 for clothing that will bring them several hundreds of dollars in profit!
Last, but definitely not least, is the thrift store or consignment shop. Yet again, clothes can be fairly cheap and lightly used here as well. These shops tend to offer items that are in decent condition, as they do not want to waste rack space with ratty clothes that won't sell. One of the most popular used clothing stores out there is Goodwill, which is an AWESOME spot to find some great clothing to upcycle. They are a nationwide store that actually helps disabled Americans to find jobs, and the sale of donated items allows them to cover the costs that might be incurred with job assistance.
There are so many great places to find clothes and no stone should be left unturned! As young teens, it is vital to keep an open mind and learn how to make a penny at every opportunity. The most important part is to have fun, or it could become more of a hassle than a fulfilling side job!

Good ideas! I went a bit into this in my article, "16 Unique Jobs for Clever Kids & Pre-Teens to Earn Quick Money", and plan to delve even deeper into the clothing resale business, but I just wanted to share that as a kid, I used to buy clothes in bulk from garage sales and Craigslist to resell for a profit on Poshmark. Nowadays, though, there are endless local 'free stuff' facebook groups (& still freecycle!) where you can find bags of clothes for free. It's a great way to make some money if you've got the time and patience.

I would've never thought of selling clothes as a way for teens to make money. I especially like your idea creating something new from the old clothes. Almost every kid I know wants something to make them unique and stand out so having what could be a one of kind shirt made by a friend would be a very good selling point.
