If you are starting to wonder about retirement but you're unsure if you're really ready, here are 20 emotional signs that may indicate it's time to start thinking about hanging up your work hat for good.

1. You Dread Going to Work

If the thought of going to work each day fills you with dread, it may be time to consider retirement. It's not worth spending the majority of your waking hours doing something that makes you so unhappy.

If you find yourself experiencing more health problems, both mental and physical, it can be a telling sign to reevaluate your work situation. If your job is causing you physical or mental anguish, it's not worth sacrificing your health.

Another one that I feel is a critical sign. If you find that you don't have any time for yourself, it's definitely a sign that something needs to change. You need to be able to take care of yourself in order to be productive and happy.

If you find that you're always working, with no time for anything else, it's definitely a sign that you need to make a change. You need to have a healthy balance between work and the rest of your life in order to avoid burnout. It's not just about work at your job but when you get back and have house chores and other tasks that need completing as well.

It's important to have other interests and hobbies outside of work in order to maintain a well-rounded and fulfilling life. Your job could be sucking the energy out of you to where you don't have anything left for the things you love.
