"Tired minds don't plan well. Sleep first, plan later. " - Walter Reisch
I am a mother of three, sadly my eldest passed away last year at 16 years of age. My angel was severely disabled and for 16 years he had trouble sleeping because of different health problems. As a mom especially a special needs mom, if your kids do not sleep, you do not sleep. This lack of sleep became a problem to my health, and I suffered a mild stroke due to high blood pressure. Lack of sleep or troubled sleep causes stress and stress causes stress related illnesses thus manifesting itself differently ergo my blood pressure.
After my son’s passing, I still had trouble sleeping because of grief and I just started to explore this ‘not sleeping’ a bit more. In the end, I discovered that even if you got less sleep, that the quality of that sleep was essential to your overall wellbeing also your mattress plays an important role as well. Many people ignore this fact, but the type of mattress that you use affects your body's ability to contour properly while sleeping. Our kids need us, to be present, to be healthy so we can be our best selves, for them.

Such a great article, it's so overlooked how often we should change our mattress and indeed make sure we select the right one - especially if you have back issues.
