Dwarf Citrus Tree
These gorgeous fruit-bearing trees make for also a gorgeous fruit treat for any summertime drink or wintertime tea. I personally use my Meyer lemons to balance the Ph in my water at home; but, don't stir with a metal spoon because it will mess up the acidity in your mix.
Persimmons are a stone fruit that has no seed. Delicious and can be eaten whole. Not as juicy as the other fruits on our list; but, the persimmon holds up to the taste test. Of sweet with a nice rind texture. Persimmons are deliciously dried and a great source of income for distribution at local farmers markets.
The Haas Avocado was a hobby tree originally by a mailman named Joseph Haas in Los Angeles. He breads the avocado tree we love to eat today. Avocados are a household name and a point of contention with any neighborhood move based on the monetary value of this wonderful fruit. Delicious and filling the avocado works in about any dish possible. Avocado trees are gorgeous with beautiful thick leaves forming around its gorgeous green avocados.
The black walnut tree bears the walnut a delicious nut used as a course in ceremonial holidays. The wood from the black walnut tree is highly valued among carpenters and a deep dark dye/pigment is made from the wood to create a beautiful varnish.
The olive tree has started wars, changed political offices, saved families, and supplied underworlds. If you were to move on any piece of land right now I would advise you to get a dozen olive trees because in 7 years you could have a functioning olive oil facility. Use the leftover olive dough to make bread and give your homemade olive oil to friends. Olive oil is another great way to source money off of your food forest.
