My Weird and Wonderful Door Knockers

What a Beautiful Knocker!

What a Beautiful Knocker!

Half asleep in bed this morning I had a wonderful idea for a new and exciting hubpage article. There was obviously a need to write a hub all about unusual and outstanding knockers! Not just any old knockers mind you, these would be all the best images I could find of attractive, weirdly shaped, funny or amazing Door Knockers. I did a bit of research and was amazed at the variety of knockers out there, available for all to touch and utilise on a day to day basis.

I really hope you all enjoy the collection of pictures I have found featuring the most bizarre, exciting and beautiful knockers in all shapes and sizes.

As you can see looking to the right of this text, if you search in the right places there are some very unusual and diverse knockers available. For those of you who are specialists as far as knockers are concerned, I am certain you can advise us of the best places to find the more specialist knockers that exist and the more obscure locations to seek them out, in the comments section at the end of this article.

*****

The first enormous knocker on the right is ornately and tactiley designed and begs to be touched and explored. Without doubt this knocker is impressive and demands attention from all who appreciate the nature of it's unusual charms.

*****

The second knocker obviously has great 'star' quality (forgive the pun), and is a must for all you sailors out there who just love the "motion of the ocean". True it may need buffing up a bit every now and again to keep it in tip top condition, but surely this extra effort is worthwhile for the comments this will generate from your visitors!

*****

The third knocker could be seen as somewhat creepy or amusing, but for those of you who appreciate a bit of a giggle, or like to shock your guests, then this could be the perfect answer. also a great addition for Halloween if you want to freak out the local children when they come "Trick or Treating"!

For those of you with a perchance for small furry squirrels then this could be the ideal knocker for you. Cute, cuddly and irresistible, plus the obvious bonus that it won't take advantage of your nuts and steal them away from all the birds!

*****

This knocker is for those of you who have a "thing" for horses, and is guaranteed to bring tears to the eyes of anyone with a passion for the these four legged beasts. Beautifully proportioned and with wonderful smooth contours, this knocker will surely make an impact on anyone that uses it.

*****

Dolphins are always popular, and these next two knockers are bound to catch the eye of anyone who appreciates a choice of high quality knockers, especially if they like their knockers a little bit different, and not always a perfect match. Perhaps a true connoisseur/collector would be able to have each of these knockers in different locations around their property, and could even apply a generous coat of Vaseline to give that authentic silky texture.

*****

Well no doubt the next knocker will be another firm favourite for those of us who liked to be assured that we are well tied down and will not be likely to escape easily. On the negative side this knocker will no doubt require loads of tender loving care to keep it in good condition, but even if this does anchor you down, it will surely help to "float your boat" whenever you look at it!!

*****

*****

*****

Okay, it could be argued most of us may not want to get crabs, but this is surely the exception. To have access to such an unusual knocker is well worth the possible doubts over displaying your crab so visibly and for all to see and talk about. Truly this knocker is one that will raise eyebrows and few would be offended by.

*****

This knocker is especially impressive if you consider that it lights up in the dark making it easy to find with little effort. The shape of it is comfortable to handle, (especially for women), and it will definitely ensure easy access to your domain once you are ready to receive visitors.

*****

The next pair of knockers will suit those of you who like things a little bit fishy. The first knocker is a real winner being especially fishy in her lower regions, and very attractive in all her other departments. She will benefit from the occasional buffing up with a gentle touch, but surely anyone would find this a pleasure rather than a chore!

The second of this pair of knockers is tantalising at best. The thought of all those tentacles just brushing against your skin is totally tempting, and most would find it hard to resist a really good feel of this knocker, and it would no doubt attract lots of visitors if the owner allowed their guests to sample it's delights and dimensions whenever they were passing by.

Isn't it odd when you have to 'duck' to avoid a knocker?? A large duck shaped knocker like this one is enough to get anybodies feathers ruffled, plus it should keep your 'pecker' more than entertained when you use it. Give it a good 'flight', I doubt you will be disappointed!

*****

There is no arguing that knocker and pussy make a great combination. This glossy pussy knocker is bound to excite all who love a furry pussy to play with, plus being really sexy to look at and to fondle. I highly recommend them, plus even your Granny will be captivated by their charms!

*****

Who can deny that a dog is adorable, especially when she has the perfect knocker or pair of knockers! Even better is one that is an adorable furry Boxer dog or bitch. Every man especially craves a total dog to entertain him with no inhibitions, and this one also has a perfect ability to get the attention of everyone in the home by the sheer volume of noise she can produce!

*****

This amazing elephant makes the most unusual knocker. His trunk is huge and a show stopper for all confronted by the massive and daunting member. The best part about being so large is the way all the ladies become bashful about handling this deadly weapon!

weird-and-wonderful-door-knockers

This 'handy' doorknob is apparently handling a small ball with a view to grabbing the attention of those within hearing distance of it's activity. A bit weird in some ways, yet mesmerising at the same time in a "Hammer Horror" kind of way!

*****

Alright, so a clog or a shoe is not the obvious way to get satisfaction from your knockers, but don't condemn it until you try it. Many people claim to have enjoyed amazing experiences from such strange knockers as shoe shaped ones. They often come in unusual colours and are happy to make lots of noise to get your undivided attention upon demand.

*****

*****

*****

This little devil is the perfect knocker, especially if you are plagued by those religious groups who tend to bang on your door when you are in the bath or in the middle of watching your favourite soap opera. If nothing else will deter their unwelcome advances, then the sight of an evil looking demon will hopefully do the trick!

*****

Many people with a fetish for knockers may be strange men who are a bit creepy, but how would you imagine the actual knocker ending up being that same odd being, and one you could bang to your heart's content? Well here is that oddity, the perfect knocker for banging, but you can walk away afterwards if you don't receive the desired response!

weird-and-wonderful-door-knockers

Every man wants a bird with perfect knockers, but here you have the perfect bird knocker, and one which will make loud noise when you use her for the purpose you intended. All of your friends and family will desire your bird, yet only you will possess her and control who uses her to get your attention!

*****

*****

Every male would like their own nymph, and here it is, waiting for you to knock it up and enjoy the experience personally. This bronzed hunk will quickly be grasped by all who come across it, and there is no doubt they will quickly get the response they expected providing there is someone home willing to accommodate them.

*****

*****

*****

Everyone will be green with envy over your handling of this green man. A unique Pagan symbol and well known by many, this impressive knocker will be the talk of the village, plus attracting many curious visitors to your home who have never seen a green knocker before. Don't be surprised if your knocker ends up published in the local papers before you know it, but don't be shy, show your knockers with pride, whatever they look like!!

*****

*****

There is no denying every woman wants a lizard in her home. Their tongues are impressively long and they know how to use them to full effect, (the lizard's not the women). As a knocker, they are bound to stop you in your tracks and grasp any guest's undivided attention very quickly once handled by them. Not great for those scared of reptiles, but hey, you can't beat a lengthy snake, so a lizard should be easy for anyone to cope with!

Here again is a knocker that has fishy lower levels! Most knocker fans will be quickly addicted to the artistic design of this designer knocker, plus the loud noise that can be achieved by manipulating it on a regular basis. Certainly playing with this knocker can produce a sound that can be heard for many hundreds of metres if done correctly, plus it has a very appealing appearance to most people who come across it!

*****

This creepy hand shaped knocker will attract those who enjoy something a little different to the normal standards. Most likely the Gothics and maybe even the fetishists will find this the ideal knocker to toy with, plus it is unique, and will definitely be the local gossip topic for many months to come!

*****

*****

Three bikes, every man's dream, especially with knockers! Here is the perfect knocker for such men, a combination of a bike and a knocker, plus being attractive and sexy. No doubt these bikes also have an enviable engine and are more than capable of giving most a "run for their money".

*****

A fairy knocker might not suit everyone, but there are those who would love to have a fairy of their own, especially if their visitors are attracted by fairies. They are an omen of good luck, plus capturing a unique magic that most of us have long since lost since we matured away from our adolescence.

*****

*****

A rock hard knocker is bound to get everyone's attention. This knocker is basic and rustic at best, but will definitely produce the desired result, as well as being cheap in the best possible way. You can pick up a knocker like this from any beach so long as you have a few basic abilities to convert it to be usable as an attention grabbing tool!

weird-and-wonderful-door-knockers

Okay, this knocker might be a bit shockable, but if you have the 'balls' to use it I am certain you will find it grasps the attention of the property owners and they answer their door with a wicked grin on their face. The only question is, DO you have the balls to use it???

*****

Way odd door knocker I know. A combination of a pair of apparent boobies / boobs and a spooky hand, all combined with a generous helping of blood coloured paint. Another great Halloween knocker to spook the local children and adults. I kind of like this one though, unique and weird at the same time! It strikes me as a good knocker to feature in a horror film.

*****

*****

*****

*****

This phallic symbol, (penis shaped) knocker, is not dissimilar to the one the late, great, actor, Oliver Reed had on his front door here in Guernsey in the Channel Islands (albeit minus the large testicles his boasted). Oliver used to hide, and watch the local female taxi drivers, (or any female visitors) come to the front door, see the obvious phallic symbol door knocker, and then he'd chuckle as they would pointedly knock on the door using their knuckles only, (rather than risking handling the rather embarrassing knocker).

*****

*****

*****

*****

*****

*****

Finally, a magnificent pair of knockers by anyone's standards. Traditional in shape, ornate, attractive, a great pair of furry pussies who will grab everyone's attention from the moment they clap eyes on them. I defy anyone not to want to enjoy these knockers as much as possible.

I really hope all the fans of my knockers are impressed enough to enjoy this article, and that if you feel so inclined you will comment on it. My knockers desperately need your approval and would be delighted to receive links to your own personal favourite knockers so that many more can appreciate and enjoy them also.

Note to future commenters:

I do not know where you can buy the 'Big Balls' door knocker from so there is no point in asking this question either in comments or by email. Please read earlier comments with suggestions as to where you might track these down.

Cindy Lawson (author) from Guernsey (Channel Islands) on July 12, 2013:

Sigh, sorry Alice, I get asked this question virtually every month either via email or via the comments here. A quick read of the comments above yours would have given you the answer, and this has been answered many times in the comments before. Basically I don't know where you would buy it from as the images were all found online some years ago. your best bet is to search Google images until you find a other door knockers similar or the same as that one and then click into the site the image is on in the hope they sell them too.

Good Luck.

Cindy Lawson (author) from Guernsey (Channel Islands) on January 11, 2013:

Can't answer that julius, this question comes up all the time. Just try Google and look for things like 'naughty door knockers', 'rude door knockers' etc and then check out the 'images' section at the top of the page. look for the image and then click on it to take you to the relevant site. Hopefully it will be a site that sells them.

Good Luck

Cindy Lawson (author) from Guernsey (Channel Islands) on December 18, 2012:

Sorry David, but everyone asks that question and I often get emails about it, but no-one seems to know where, or even if, it can be purchased. Your best bet is to do a Google search for 'naughty door knockers' or similar and then check out the images until you find something similar.

Good luck

Hows about a boobie knocker.

Cindy Lawson (author) from Guernsey (Channel Islands) on June 06, 2012:

Everyone wants that one for some reason John lol. I get emails and all sorts from people who want me to tell them where to find it. Sadly the answer is that I just don't know, and all I can suggest is a more specific Google search using terms like 'Big Balls Door Knocker', 'rude door knocker', 'naked door knocker', etc etc.

Good Luck.

the one that i am interested in getting is the one with the big balls statue . i am having a hard time finding it. your help in finding it is appreciated .

Cindy Lawson (author) from Guernsey (Channel Islands) on June 05, 2012:

well John, you could try the link at the end of the article to the 'British Antique Doors Knockers' site, but alternatively do as I did originally and do a Google search for 'unusual door knockers' and similar terms, then look at the Google images associated with that search, find one you like and go into that site. There is a very good chance they will be selling the door knocker in question.

Good Luck

where can i get some of these door knockers from

Cindy Lawson (author) from Guernsey (Channel Islands) on May 10, 2012:

I have deleted your comment John as it links to another site which is a bit of a liberty to take without asking first. The site is also only full of affiliate links, so not an actual retail site where you provide the goods. Sorry, but it is always better and more polite to ask before assuming it is okay to post your backlinks in someone else's article or site.

Cindy Lawson (author) from Guernsey (Channel Islands) on November 08, 2011:

I am sorry I can't help you on this as I never knew the site it could be purchased from when I wrote this article, (and that was several years ago now). I would suggest doing a Google search for things like 'door knockers', 'unusual door knockers', 'big ball door knockers', 'naughty door knockers' etc, then check out the 'image results' for each search. When you find an image of the door knocker you like, click on it and visit the website it came from. There is a good chance it will be a site which sells it as well. You might also try Ebay and Amazon to see if anyone is selling them on there.

Good Luck in your search (funny, I get a lot of people email me wanting to know where they can buy that particular door knocker lol).

I wouldn't know where to buy those, either, Misty. (The Jehovah's Witnesses, not the knockers) :-)

Cindy Lawson (author) from Guernsey (Channel Islands) on June 12, 2009:

Thanks Laughing Mom, well so long as you have nice neighbours at least you won't have any worries, it may be a good plan to use the creepy hand one to deter Jehovas Witnesses though, not sure where you buy them sadly, (the door knockers, not the Jehovas Witnesses that is !!!) :) :) :)

Laughing Mom on June 12, 2009:

These are very interesting, Misty. But I think I'll stick with my plain jane silver one. I'd hate to scare the neighbors. Oh, wait! On second thought, where can I find that creepy one with the hand?

Cindy Lawson (author) from Guernsey (Channel Islands) on June 12, 2009:

LOL, thanks for the wonderful insight into your private life Spryte. Any time you need a knocker just let me know :) :) :)

spryte from Arizona, USA on June 12, 2009:

Misty -

You definitely have a knack for knockers :) I've never wanted anyone knocking on my door so I'm knockerless. I do have a bell...but I tend to ignore that too since I like my hermit status.

If I ever were to have a knocker...I'd have a big forbidding door to go along with it that squealed ominously upon opening...and a butler named Igor...

*nods*

Then I'd be sure to see you about getting a big knocker for it.

*hugs* :)

Cindy Lawson (author) from Guernsey (Channel Islands) on June 12, 2009:

Thanks Babedoll50. Lovely comment and it is great to have enthusiastic fellow hubbers to interact with :)

The squirrel and the elephant are very cool, so is the one that is the "front page" of your article if that's actually a knocker too. I lol'ed at the dude with the giant nuts too. That's seriously funny. I was tempted to go take a picture of ours, since you don't have it on there, but I'm too lazy and there's no place to put it anyway. But we have a big cool face of like a pagan sea god looking thing, or, I guess could be the god of the wind or something. It's pretty big too, like the size of two loaves of bread side by side... maybe a little longer than that. Anyway, nice collection of stuff. This was exactly what I was in the mood for this morning. Something light and entertaining. Great job!

Thanks G Ma, you can't beat a wonderful collection of knockers ;)

Cheers Frieda, yes, they can be very expensive, but good fun.

Hi TOF, golly, I don't know how to tell the difference, but either way I am sure it makes a fabulous knocker.

Hi Hawkesdream, not sure I could use it either. So pleased you enjoyed looking at my knockers :) :)

If I turned up at a door where the knocker was a set of balls, don't think I could use it! lol all others fine lol great fun with your knockers.
