I like sharing the adventures of my early years, and most importantly, FAMILY and HOME.
Colors that Calm
You might not even notice it, but seeing walls that are peacefully painted brings the body a cool mood almost instantly. You want to feel light when you’re home. You're yearning for some warmth that loosens the day's load.
If you ever wonder why even the smallest well-painted houses look so fabulous, the choice of colors injected some energy and optimism into the surroundings. From immaculate whites to relaxing greens and blues, warm yellows, and stimulating oranges, it's amazing how colors affect your everyday life.
Fresh and Clean
Looking around spic and span is life-giving. It's extremely invigorating that you would always be looking forward to coming home.
If you have a passion for doing chores (like me! :-)) then you'll also find the process like a mood-boosting workout. Not only it increases endorphins that make the body feel good, but it also promotes happiness.
Do you know how much is a clean home worth? It's worth your health, your family, your children, your life. Above all, it's worth you coming home to it happy and grateful.
I learned this quote in first grade, Cleanliness is next to Godliness.
It keeps reminding me of my first cleaning lessons from my mother. It would be a bad day if she touches dust on any surface first thing in the morning. So me? I would impress her by making every corner spotless. Day by day I realized my efforts have disciplined me. Today, I live to this passion.
A beautiful home finds space for the family. Regardless of size, it removes obstacles for large through rooms or portioning large rooms into two smaller ones. It provides less traffic flow by highlighting corners and spaces. Less is more for a small space.
It allows you to cook in a regular-sized kitchen that seems to be much larger. With your creativity on storage and shelving, it has less clutter. In general, a relaxing home invests in nothing but more space for the family. It is a place that lets the family live large no matter the size of the space.
Lights increase the value of a home inexpensively. Well-lighted means giving enough light to brighten up the surrounding. Whether it’s a chandelier, corner lampshades, or a simple ceiling light, soft and natural glowing lights in the evening are tranquil.
A relaxing home has lights placed exactly where it is needed. It charmingly creates an illusion of more space. How do you feel about a home that uses gas lamps in the garden? There is so much comeliness. Everything is agreeable. When light flows easily and naturally around the house, the more airy and beautiful the home appears.
You can have a totally bare space with or simple furniture but when lit the right way can become the most dramatic space in the house. Just make sure the lights are turned off when not in use.
Some Vintage Touch
Do you still have your mother's or grandmother's teacups or spoons that are so shapely? Bring them out, use them. Promise, it will make your home smile.
There is something about the blend of old-world charm and modern concepts. Even old furniture that carries original paint is so mystique. The whole essence seems to bring you back to old beautiful times. Lacquered mirrors, pastel pillows, or vintage paintings carry a strong touch of nostalgia that calms a part of you.
A house that owns hand-me-down furnishings puts value on something old-fashioned. It's an amazing place that reminds you of tradition. It's a kind of home that makes folks say,
Your house is so pretty, it feels like I've found my searches."
Plants are calming. No matter where they stand, outdoors or indoors, their green foliage and flowers generate happiness. They cool the eye, freshen up the air, enliven a space, and even absorb noise. Simply spend some time sitting in a place full of greens and notice how they naturally give the surrounding environment a more peaceful atmosphere.
You perhaps are too busy to connect with nature. By bringing nature into your home so you can enjoy a little scenery of a plant sanctuary, your mind will thank you for the thoughtfulness.
Pets – whether dogs, cats, birds, fish, or farm animals boost your mood. They make you smile, play, and laugh. Even watching fish in an aquarium can help slow down your thoughts and tension. Isn't it relaxing to find your pet waiting for you and all excited licking and trying to play with you when you return home?
It is believed that homes with pets help manage loneliness by providing companionship. Pets have mood-boosting benefits that promote playfulness. Children also grow up jolly, more secure, and active.
I like hiding from my dog Wufu when I come home. It's so hilarious seeing him running and looking around to find me. My perfume makes me easily tracked haha. It's a lot of fun by the time he finally finds me. I love the feeling!
There is a sense of ease when the home is environmentally friendly. A "Go Green" home infuses a practical yet stylish adventure for the whole family. It educates everyone about an entirely new way of seeing firsthand what it means to care about health and the earth.
Instead of old fabrics being thrown away, they are transformed into potholders, rags, dog towels, or given to somebody else to get further use out of. Not only it saves some cash, but a home that helps reduce waste.
A green and healthy home is where the heart is. It encourages home cooking from scratch which is healthier and cheaper. It is about food on the table that is simple but gratifying. What makes a sustainable home relaxing is its ability to contribute goodness and give back in countless ways. It's a place that shows a nurturing tradition that your kids can pass on to their own children.
A home that gives time for prayer secures the heart and mind. It's not just a dwelling place but a warm haven of comfort, peace, and love. Most of all, it teaches children about healthy relationships.
This is the best thing about a beautiful home, it is a place on earth that never puts the world before God, but rather, a home where everyone finds each other through the family. As the saying goes, "Christian family values begin at home."
A true home calms you from the world's usual busy-ness. When you're refreshed, you are happy; when you're happy, you know that you're loved, and when you know that you're being loved, you'll always spend time finding your way home. You will love the feeling of having no greater joy than coming to a beautiful home with a beautiful family.
Happy Father's Day to all fathers around the world!
