A Recommendation for a Great Soil and Stain Remover for Clothes
Every once in a while , the best of us has an unfortunate spill of something; a ballpoint pen ink mark on a lovely white garment or horrors, a cut that bleeds on a best blouse, producing a nasty stain.
There are many good products out there, but I have found a great stain remover courtesy of my late mother. I had found this in her cupboard and brought it to mine where it sat for a long while. Eventually, I ran out of my usual stain remover and decided to use up the old trigger sprayer, as much to clear out the space, as to use the product. I suppose, originally I just used it on anything slightly stained so I wasn’t aware how great it was... until I ran out and I was out shopping to replace it hoping against hope the manufacturer had not altered it’s formula!
I did find it and now I have managed to determine why I love it so much. Not only is it great on just plain ordinary dirt, but it has some specific stain removing powers that wowed me.
Recommended: President's Choice Soil & Stain Laundry Stain Remover
My stain remover is "PC President’s Choice Soil and Stain Laundry Stain Remover". I found mine at No Frills, in a 650ml trigger sprayer. Even more cost effective is the 950ml refill which can be used alone since it has a push pull spot for squirting on stains.
I recommend this product simply because it removes the stains I routinely come across in daily life. While the ball point pen stains took some effort ( they did come out). Many other stain removers just do not work as effectively and require a lot more rubbing often leaving a trace stain.
Tough Stain Test:
Today, I had the chance to do an ultimate stain removal test. A tablecloth with extensive stains was dug up from storage. It is an inherited cloth that has sat in that condition for at least ten years! No one knows how it ended up being stored that way and one would assume it has already been washed after the stains were made originally. Obviously, plain laundry detergent was not enough.
I made a point of taking some photographs of the stains before pretreat, after pretreat and eventually a picture of the washed cloth. I can say that, I was not too hopeful. They could have been red wine stains or maybe gravy.
Upon applying PC stain remover the stains began to bleach and wick out. Only slight rubbing was needed to make them almost invisible. I will post these pictures now and a final picture of the renewed cloth to show the effectiveness of this stain remover! See below!

The Ultimate test: Stains on White Garments!
I wear white uniforms at work and many employees bring the uniforms home to wash even though the company has a laundry service.
It is a long story, but employees are tired of getting brand new white uniforms back with a dirty grey cast , so we decided to do our own soil and stain removal and laundering with much better results! Vanity is everything! As part of our work, we get chemical stains which we remove at work, but one of the toughest toughest stains result from ball point pens carried in our pockets all day long. Sometimes the pockets are a mess!
Well, I applied the stain remover to the stains on my garments… mind you I did have to use a nail brush to work it into the fabric and did re-apply it…but in the final wash all the ink was gone! I did not expect that! I was pleasantly surprised to find the stains gone since I have had to put up with shadows of the pen stains previously.
Tough Stains Removed!
The other stain was something I thought would never come out. Unknown to myself, I scratched a small scab and therefore never treated it immediately. On laundry day, I was dismayed to find a dried blood stain on a favourite blouse. I heaved a sigh and pretreated and left the blouse while I washed other loads of laundry. I figured, there goes a blouse to be worn only with pullovers and sweaters! When I came back to find the progress of the stain and to see if I needed to re-apply the stain remover, I could not find the stain! Not a trace!
The stain remover I recommend is " President’s Choice Soil and Stain Laundry Stain Remover". I found mine at No Frills. In a 650ml trigger sprayer. I recommend it simply because it removes the stains we routinely come across in daily life. While the ball point pen took some effort, many other stain removers just do not work as effectively and require a lot more rubbing which wears out fabrics.
So know I have a staple in my laundry room and I like it even better when it was a choice of my mother picked out.
There is nothing quite like finding a product that works.
