Sun and Shade: lovers

Dahlias are sun-lovers and need a minimum of 6 hours of sunlight per day. The more sun they get, the better they'll bloom, so it's best to plant your dahlias in the sunniest location you can. find in your garden. they are hardy plants and come in a riot of colours. dahlias have tubers and can be stored for the year next. during postings the tubers can always be carried in wooden trays filled lightly with a mixture of sand and soil. the dahlias are extremely hardy plants and if proper care taken the tubers last many seasons.

Why is it called cockscomb flower?

Why is it called cockscomb flower? Named after its resemblance to the comb on a roosters head. How do you harvest cockscomb seeds? Seed saving: Cockscomb seeds can be found in the heads, between the velvety flowers. Once the blooms dry out, cut them off and hang upside down in bunches. When the seed heads are completely dry and crisp, lightly crush them with your hands cockscomb boasts brightly-colored blooms with a unique comb-like shape.. i have always preferred growing these for my borders. the gardener who lives in the quarters at the back of my house is extremely experienced and i am still learning quite a bit. they grow in a roit of hundred different colours . sun loving and easy maintenance.

Guppies and Water Lilies

Water lilies have a number of adaptations that help them survive in water, including big leaves that float on the water's surface to attract ample sunlight for photosynthesis. The top side of the leaf is covered with a cuticle to keep it as dry as possible, and the underside has thorns to protect against predators. water lilies do well with fishes. small guppies do well with water lilies. guppies or gambusia eat mosquito larvae and thus keep the water clear.
