My Color Changing Salt Lamp
A friend of mine moved into an assisted care facility, and on her lamp stand was this rock. Her rock was a dark brown, like brown sugar color. It glowed slightly. I saw it and admired it, and she said it was a salt lamp. It was meant to cleanse the air, change the ions, and make a person's health better.
She also said that it was interesting to watch visitors stop by it and touch it. Some would claim they felt calmer just feeling it. Well, to each his own, and if it works, don't knock it.
At any rate, I wished to own one as well. The salt rocks in my local store were well over thirty dollars to purchase. I just couldn't bring myself to buy one.
Then, one day, they had a special shipment of color changing rocks. They were sixteen dollars, and I decided that now was the time.
I needed one.
Unpacking my Rock
They look all plain and simple fresh out of the packaging, but when you find a place to set it, and plug it in, then the show begins.
Ahhhhhhh. I feel calmer already.
There are seven different colors, due to seven different colored bulbs located in or underneath the salt.
It was calming until an hour later. I walked into the room, and it was gone. Sometimes my hubby and I differ in opinion, and I thought perhaps this was one of those moments. So, preparing for battle, I asked him where it was.
He had placed it in the curio cabinet so that the mirrors would fling the light around. They did not.
Since it is supposed to do something functional to your air quality, he did move it back to where it was. (I feel my blood pressure returning to normal now...smile)
There, doesn't that feel better? You are welcome come back and stare at my rock. It's pretty to have your own.
I'm waiting to find out if my hubby;s congestion improves having it sitting next to his chair. We will see.
