Cake setting. Started with a soda bread recipe. Then decided to just modify. I melted the butter. Poured in buttermilk. Added eggs.

The instructions tell me the buttermilk and eggs need to be room temperature.

Then, had a bowl of flour. Added salt, baking soda, sugar, yeast.

Dry Ingredients:

  • sugar

At this point I remember the wet has to go in first. The dry goes on top of the wet. The paddle on the bottom will merge the two. The yeast will find the sugar and will eat it.

The yeast becomes flatulent and infuses the bread with yeast gas. The bread makes a dough balloon and then, after the bread raises, the bread machine will bake the risen concoction and soon I will be cutting a slice and eating it with butter.

Mmmmm!

It's like a soda cracker or biscuit texture. Hubby thought it would be good with a sausage gravy.

I buttered mine and sprinkled with shredded cheese.

Yummy!
