Genuine Happiness

I am a mother of three wonderful adult children, and I'm also a born-again Christian. I love to share my personal experiences.

Before You Know It

We long for it. We work for it. But every time we think we have it, it's gone - like a bubble that suddenly pops in a child's eager grasp.

Happiness can be here today and gone tomorrow. So many of us are looking for genuine happiness. We should strive to pursue Christ happiness, which can be found along the way of this journey called life.

Happiness is a mental or emotional state of well-being characterized by positive or pleasant emotions ranging from contentment to intense joy.[1] A variety of biological, psychological, religious, and philosophical approaches have striven to define happiness and identify its sources. Various research groups, including positive psychology, endeavor to apply the scientific method to answer questions about what "happiness" is, and how it might be attained. It is of such fundamental importance to the human condition that "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness" were deemed to be unalienable rights by the United States Declaration of Independence. *

I have personally come to experience that when I am least happy is when I allow worry, doubts, and fear to take preference over all of my emotions. This then steals my peace, and therefore my happiness.

Trust in God is freedom and liberty! It is the opposite of worry, doubts, and fear. Trust and Faith allows us to be free from the circumstances that surround us. If I truly understood God's love I wouldn't be walking in fear and doubt. When I take my eyes off of my Savior I lose the hope that He really does care. I lose hope that He would take care of my family, the hope that He would work it all out in the end, and make a way when there is no way.

Worry and fear is the opposite of Faith. It is doubt and distrust which steals our joy. When we have something to believe in that gives us strength knowing that we don't always have control but trusting that it will work out. Because there is a higher power out there that we can look to. It's not a crutch, it is a admission how we need someone who we can trust. Things that we ourselves don't have control over.

Even if we make a mess of things there is still that lovely word; Hope. Looking at the positive and ignoring the negative. That doesn't mean we don't take responsibility but we surrender all of our concerns. Doing our part, we are free, and happy knowing that things will work out in the end.

1 Corinthians 13:7

LOVE 7 It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

GOD has not given me the spirit
of fear; but of POWER, and of LOVE,
and of a SOUND MIND!
2 Timothy 1:7

The Quality Of Life Is Not Short Lived

Scroll to Continue

Is more than our much too short two week vacation, or even our "dream come true." Real Happiness is a quality of life, and that comes from God alone.

Happiness comes from healing with in. When you allow yourself to let go of all of your past mistakes and failures. Living for the present time and having hope for the future.

Only Jesus Christ, the Son of God, can promise true happiness.

John 10:10

"I have come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly".

Matthew 11:28

" Then Jesus said, "Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest".

Christ's offer is no false hope of a life of ease, but His power to remove your burden of sin, His presence to share the joys and trials of each day.

Through Christ's death on the cross He offers.....

Colossians 1:14

"In whom we have redemption through his blood. We are redeemed from sin. We were in bondage, but have been purchased.

Satan holds us under bondage until our sins are blotted out. The price paid is his blood"

By His resurrection He provides a new way

of living with God now and throughout eternity..

John 5:11-12 "

11-And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

12-He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life".

State Of Mind

Happiness is a state of mind or feeling characterized by contentment, love, satisfaction, pleasure, or joy.

Does my happiness depend on my wealth and all that I own? - Job 31:25

Give me happiness, O Lord, for my life depends on you. - Psalms 86:4

Make me walk along the path of your commands, for that is where my happiness is found. - Psalms 119:35

The hopes of the godly result in happiness, but the expectations of the wicked are all in vain. - Proverbs 10:28

The godly can look forward to happiness, while the wicked can expect only wrath. - Proverbs 11:23

Joyce Meyer on the word; Happiness

It is my opinion that Joyce Meyer is the most down to earth Christian woman speaker that I can relate to for the most part. She is so straight forward in her words, and she doesn't sugar coat anything. I believe that most of us that follow her teachings can relate to her. This is because she never tries to be something that she isn't, she shows us her humanness and yet her spiritual side as well. She has been a great example to me personally. If you have never heard of her messages and/or teachings, I would highly recommend you start.

Do you sincerely want to be happy?

Then set your mind and your heart upon God's love and His grace.

Happiness depends less upon our circumstances than upon our own thoughts. When we turn our thoughts to God, to His gifts, and to His glorious creation, we experience the joy that God intended for His children. But when we focus on the negative aspects of life, we tend to suffer needlessly.

The fullness of life in Christ is available to all who seek it and claim it. Count yourself among that number. Seek first the salvation that is available through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and then claim the joy, the peace, and the spiritual abundance that the Shepherd offers His sheep.

True happiness consists only in the enjoyment of God. His favor is life, and His loving-kindness is better than life. ~Arthur W. Pink

Pleasure-seeking is a barren business; happiness is never found till we have the grace to stop looking for it and to give our attention to persons and matters external to ourselves. ~J. I. Packer

No matter how hard he searches, nothing beneath the skies and nothing above the skies can make any man happy apart from God. ~C. H. Spurgeon

God has charged Himself with full responsibility for our eternal happiness and stands ready to take over the management of our lives the moment we turn in faith to Him. ~A. W. Tozer

Dear Lord, I am thankful for all of the blessings You have given me. Please let me be a happy Christian Father, as I share Your joy with friends, with family, and with the world. Amen

Happiness - by Joel Osteen

Here is also another example of a true man of God who practices what he preaches, by the way he lives. Grant it many people put these leaders down saying that they are only in it for the money. But I say there must be something to this, because they have prospered and touched many people's lives by what they teach from the Word.

I remember a line from the Psalms "happy are they who dwell in your house, they shall be ever praising thee." The quote really stuck in my head over the years, because the writer longed so much for the Temple...but we in Christ, have the Spirit dwelling with us. We have something which they, longed for. Do we take that for granted? As I thought more about the quote, I often thought of how selfish I had been. Somehow when I remembered that presense, even the air itself would seem to shine. God was with me, how could I not be happy? How could I not see miracles everyday? And became for me, something filled with miracles. Yes, true different then what we often expect in the world. But it does exist in Him.
