Mother of four teenagers, wife, housewife, freelance writer. Love traveling, watching a good movie, music, vogue, good food and good wine!
A few years ago, my son discovered an amazing book at his school´s library and brought it home. It was “The curse of the Cheese Pyramid” with a little mouse as the main character . He enjoyed it so much that ever since, he started reading almost all of his books and even make me register him in the readers club to get at home all the books before they reach the libraries.
But who is this little mouse I´m talking about? His name is Geronimo Stilton and was created by and Italian author named Elisabetta Dami who published the series in 2000 with Edizione Piemme . In Italy this is a best selling book becoming one of children´s favorites and has been translated to 35 languages. Scholastic Corporation distributes the series in the United States since 2004 and here in Spain and also in Mexico is distributed by Editorial Planeta since 2009. The books are made for kids ages 8 to 14 but even my 6 year old daughter enjoys reading her brother´s books.
Getting to know Geronimo Stilton
Geronimo Stilton is a little mouse who lives in “Mouse City” on “Mouse Island” (you will enjoy the map of the island and all the funny names of the places). He works as a journalist at “The Rodent´s Gazette” and is also a best selling author that shares all his amazing travels and adventures with his followers. He also has a younger sister called “Tea Stilton” who also has her own book series and is a favorite of my older daughter. Geronimo is a loving uncle for little Benjamin Stilton and live adventures with his cousin Trap Stilton; he also has lots of friends and family members you will get to know while you read the books. Yes!!! You may enjoy reading this books with your little ones too!!
This nervous mouse prefers living a quite and calm life but is always getting involved in a series of adventures and troubles that will make your little ones enjoy until the end.
The Book Series
Geronimo Stilton has a collection of around 48 books (and keeps publishing). What I like about these books is that they are really easy to read by the kids. While you read you will notice how the letters will change on size and format and some drawings are also included to make reading easy and funny.
There are also some special edition (my son´s favorites) with more pages to read and a different cover page. What my kids like about these special editions is that they also include special smells like violets or stinky feet!!! Along with this special editions you may find some well known novels like” Little Women” (my all time favorite and now my daughter´s favorite) or “The Treasure Island” or “The Jungle`s Book” this time with little mice as the characters. Another interesting presentation of the books is the comics, a different and colorful way to read this series. Geronimo Stilton also has a series of traveling books for kids all ages not to mention the DVDs and TV series.
The reason I made this Hub is to share my kids passion for reading and why not mention they all like the stories about this little mouse and wait every month for the Readers Club to send us a new edition of this books!!! There is also an official page called "The Rodent´s Gazette Online" where your little ones can get information about this adorable character and his new stories and adventures. This page is updated frecuently so you will always get information on the new books coming to the libraries.

Excellent book review! I've never heard of this series, but any story about a mouse has to be cute. I could picture your adorable children's faces as they wait to have the next edition in their hands!:)
