A Woman's Gratitude

I pledge my sword to you

I pledge my sword to you

Life is not Important

Life is not Important

4/17/2013

Without realizing it, you are helping me

Without trying, you're setting me free

The gratitude I feel is overwhelming me

I am eager to repay the gifts that you have bestowed upon me

Because of this, I pledge my sword to you

I stand by you without judgement, offering affection that is true

Not like the fleeting, useless claims of selfish love once offered to you

My aim is not to possess or limit but to show you something new

My goal is not to trap you here or keep you by my side

I do not have the selfish wish to make up your entire life

And tho I want to earn my place within you for all of time

It doesn't mean I have the self centered need to make you solely mine

If you gave it freely, wholly, I would never cast your heart away

But its not an expectation or goal. I'm not the type to make you stay

Without condition, within me you may always have a place

Still, my caring never asks that you compromise yourself or your ways

You may never know the value of the gifts you've given me

Or the amazing role you've played or exactly what you mean

But in my life you have achieved your immortality

To thank you I'll embrace this connection and aid your quest to set you free.
