A Poem About Love: The Light of Love

Jo has been an ITU nurse at the London North West NHS Trust for 14 years. She obtained her RN at University College London Hospital.

your-light

Light of love

In a mother's eyes, It puts the sun to shame

In the soul of a child, it's pure and bright

In a lover's smile, it melts the heart

The light of love radiates from within

From the top of the head to the tip of the toes

It's a sacred spark, linking hearts to hearts

From the moment of our birth to the day we die

We are dust of stars forever bright

So shine your light, just Let it shine

your-light
your-light

The Aureate Light

A Beauty lies within their eyes

It dazzles, dances and delights

A certain grace etches each face

Where joy and sorrow carved a place

Souls adrift in the wilderness

Yearn for a little tenderness

Ignite a spark of love divine

That fizzes and sparkles like wine

enwrapped, they view the world through dreams

Made just for them, or so it seems

In moments of epiphany

Their hearts played like a Symphony

They found their common destiny

To love in perfect harmony

Where two hearts beat the same sweet tune

And blackbirds still sing way passed June

Their love shines from sunset to dawn

They'll never wake to find it gone

Grain of sand to the perfect pearl

Two budding souls like one unfurl

And the purest light lit their eyes

Shaming the stars in the velvet skies

They surrender, like night to dawn

On velvet emerald green lawn

A child born of the sacred spark

With a lambent smile to tame the dark

Made of more than flesh and blood

Aureate love flows like a flood

And when the sun falls from the sky

And all the mighty rivers dry

When passion burns as cold as ice

Their love will still be paradise

your-light

Epi, you are much too kind. You made me smile this morning with your clever and very delightful poem, now I'm in danger of shedding a tear as I read this wonderful comment. Thank you Colin, and a big hug to you, Tiffy and Gabriel over there on the lake.

I've often think that love poetry is a natural extension of the author herself and in this supreme case it reflects the shining light in your beautiful and creative heart - hubbravo from the epi-man for showing the way and letting me into your heart because it's truly a beautiful place to be - sending you warm wishes and good energy from Colin and his cats Tiffy and Gabriel from lake erie time ontario canada 10:48am

This love poem is one of the most beautiful I've read. Such deep feelings expressed so freely and lovingly. I can feel your heart in this piece. The photo is the perfect match and hearing Whitney sing again brought me to tears. I adored her. Voted Up.

Hello Braveworrier, how lovely to see you!...I'm so glad you enjoyed the poem. I try to balance the dark or sad poems with something a little lighter now and again, but as you know it's all to do with the mood.

Imkarn, so nice to see you, sorry to hear you were none too bright. I did check to see if you had published, I'm in need of your special brand of humour. HP seems hell bent on harassing me, and I'm slowly losing patience, looking for something to help me crack a smile, so I'll be checking in soon.

Voted up and awesome. Loved this especially that spectacular ending

Until the sun falls from the sky

And the mighty rivers run dry

When fiery passion turns to ice

It'll still be worth the sacrifice

And yes, it will be worth the sacrifice indeed. True love sigh....
