Word Prompts Help Creativity ~ Week 25 (Blue)

I am a writer. My passion is poetry. I feel words connect people together and help us to understand the feelings we share.

Article Summary

Word Prompts Help Creativity ~ Week 25 is an article to help inspire our creativity.

I choose a single word prompt encouaging others to write a poem, a short story, a song or any combination.

The only requirement is to relax and have fun writing.

Can I Make A Difference?

We are all on this earth together, but everyone of us is so different.

Our outlook on life differs by how we were raised, what part of the world we live in, what color our skin happens to be, and by our age.

I secretly wish we could all unite as one, but I know speaking those words outloud would fall onto death ears.

So, I'll continue to sit back and observe while writing a line or two, hoping I can make a difference.

Let's Keep Inspired

Let's keep inspired this week. Keep a notebook handy.

Write down anything that captures your attention. Maybe it's something that inspires you or makes you laugh.

Pay attention to your emotions. How do you feel when you are inspired?

Jot down a few notes. Ask yourself questions, like what senses are you using.

Do you feel mentally stimulated to do something or does a certain feeling overcome you?

Write your thoughts down. Don't worry if they make any sense. You can come back later and decipher them.

Reach deep down inside and find out what made this moment important to you.

Then write.

Word Prompt = Blue

This week for the word prompt I have chosen the word, " Blue."

Blue is considered a pigment of color like the color of the sky or the ocean.

It can also be the lady in a blue dress or a policeman's uniform.

Maybe it's that blue eyed girl or boy whose eyes mesmerize you.

Or it's that melancholy mood that has you captive.

Maybe it's the symbol of trust or a person who is loyal.

There could be a blue bird that visits your back yard or a blue flower in your flowerbeds.

Or a robin who lays blue eggs in a nest.

Maybe you have a blue collar job you drive to each day.

Or it reminds you of a song like the one I posted below, "Blue Ain't You're Collar" by Keith Urban.

The sky is the limit on this one. Let's see what everyone's muse decides to write.

Pick up those pens and jot down a few lines.

Blue is the color of sky - the limit of your imagination, the beginning of my dreams.

Highlights This Week

I so enjoyed reading everyone's writing on this week's word prompt, "Letter."

It seems we all feel like letter writing has taken a back seat to our newfound technology.

I think it is a shame because I love to look back and reread letters from the past. There is a connection with a letter that simply doesn't exist in any other form of communication.

Each and everyone of you did an excellent job on this one.

I've even been inspired by Vidya D Sagar to write a letter to my future self. You can read her wonderful idea in the link below.

John Hansen provided us with a poem that shows us someone who was not brave enough to tell his love his feelings had changed.

He couldn't say it to her face & an email seemed to cold, so he writes a letter.

Then he waits for her reply hoping they can remain friends, but he fears that will no longer be the case.

When he receives the reply, he learns a new technique.. How to write, "YELL."

To read John Hansen's writing follow the link below.

Then because of an overwhelming response to the article I wrote, I have included a link for you to read if you desire.

Manatita Describes How The Supreme Touches One's Soul

Manatita describes the mood a letter conveys in his acrostic poem.

It brings sadness or joy. Sometimes words of love or ones that make one's heart cry.

He includes a sweet sample love letter followed by the words of the master, Sri Chinmoy that shows us love sustains the universe.

In his poem, "Letter To my Heart: A poem which also spells out the word 'Letter' in six of the seven stanzas" he shows us how one can hear a gentle voice that sends a letter to your heart.

He becomes lost in her gaze as he watches the morning sunrise.

He senses her agony as she waits to shine again as she watches the sun, the moon, and the twinkling stars before her morning glory glows once more.

As he stares at this wondrous light his worries dissolve away.

He has found what he has longed for so many days.

He is no longer afraid.

He understands the beauty of the Mona Lisa as he bows in prayer.

He feels her blessings pouring upon his body.

He knows it is wrong for people to say this word is untrue.

Then he paints a picture with his words showing us a place more beautiful than a rainbow.

He was bitter until he was found. Now he has hope as he embraces the light.

Everything bad in his life dissapears, as he is surrounded by this abundant beauty of love.

Then he spends his days glorifying this light as he waits until the day God takes him home to a place more beautiful than a rainbow.

This is a wonderful poem depicting the journey of a lost soul finding the light of God.

A letter showing the communication between one's inner soul and the Supreme Being.

He includes a heart touching video at the end slong with his own video reciting his poem.

He reminds us to help someone when they are feeling sad.

Umesh Chandra Bhatt ~ Letter Writing Is Still A Powerful Medium

Umesh provides us with a wonderful introduction reminding us of a time when letter writing was the only communication.

But since then, technology has changed the mode of how we communicate in the world with instant messages, email, and online chatting.

He tells us a letter is still a powerful medium for those who find putting their words on paper easier.

In his poem, "My last letter" he tells us that in the beginning of a relationship words written inside a letter consist of love.

After time one notices the words changing. He comes across excuse & lies.

The problems escalate and discussion gets him no where.

It seems like a blind race forcing his hand to write a final letter.

One that bids his farewell for good.

In his poem, "Letter - An Acrostic poem", he tells us that we can connect with others by writing letters.

It's a time where we share our lives and feel like we have nothing to hide.

In his "Letter - A Haiku", he tells us that no matter how far a letter comes from it is a beautiful thing to receive.

Thanks for sharing another great prompt, Bredz. According to psychological point of view colors are a form of nonverbal communication. They surrounds us everywhere. Each color has its own meaning and is associated with different emotions and values. It is said that the color blue is preferred by most. When I think of blue color I think of “Life”. I like the Blue color very much.

Blessings and Love ❤️
