Why Do You Fail at Your Goals

Devika enjoys sharing her work with a friendly community. Writing opens the mind. I live in a foreign country learned a foreign language .

Accomplish goals

Your whole life you have been dreaming of what you will achieve and how you will succeed. In all of this you try to do your best, and still, fail in your attempts.

Does this make you feel good about yourself?

No, the feeling is letdown, anger, feeling sorry for yourself all of this leaving you feeling hopeless. You feel insecure to give it a second attempt and failure is not for you, as you think of it. No matter what you want to do to succeed, you must fail before you get up that step ladder.

What is failure to you?

At some point in your life, you must have failed at setting a goal or working on a project. You are not like everybody else to succeed on the first attempt. People overcome personal issues and look for more than they can cope with. A failure is what should make you feel positive to work on your mistakes.

What is the biggest cause of failure?

I know the causes of failures are financial problems, relationship problems, anxiety, issues, and a lack of confidence. In time I noticed the biggest causes of failures are money and relationships.

Individuals are not sure if they want to put that step forward to make a change in their lives. Everything they do is a risk and your toxic habits destroy your thoughts. What you believe in, abandons your goals.

Bad relationships and poor income put you in terrible situations. You are not able to have all aspects of your life in one piece.

If you have a weakness in one part of your life that affects other areas. Your conduct affects you in all aspects of life and leaves you feeling a failure. Whether you are with friends, family or co-workers you are affected by your opportunities.

Why do you fail in aspects of your life?

Push yourself to the limit and feel good. When you have reached the top you feel the change will hurt you. The approach up the ladder makes you feel awkward and insecure. You feel threatened by your actions.

Instead, you should be proud of yourself, but you tend to fear what you have achieved. You fail when you realize the spotlight is on you and what others will think of your achievements.

The moment that makes you feel afraid of standing out in the crowd. It is like you are leaving your friends behind and finding your own life and succeeding in it. Some fail and some achieve their goals. You fail when you are afraid of moving on to better opportunities.

To become yourself you need to be different from your group of friends. It is not possible to do something for yourself if you are holding on to insecure emotions. Others will think you are weird for not doing the same as they are. The boundaries you create tell you to be positive and to avoid those who are not on your side.

Get rid of the weakness in you!

Are you not persistent enough?

Do you try a new project, leave it aside and think nothing will come of it?

Sometimes you try your passion too soon. People share their hard times before sharing their successes. There is often that struggle you have before having it come your way.

Do you fail because you lack humbleness?

You credit your success and accomplish what you know is possible. Learn through your achievements and develop a skill to show others what you are capable of. Make yourself important in teamwork or on your own. Accomplish a goal and make it known to others that you are not a failure.

Do not lack pride and show your skills.

People brag about their achievements and tell you what they can do to achieve that. In the same way, you need to make yourself known to them. Some overdo it about their successes and others just want the attention of others.

Off- course you need to learn more to succeed, and failure is not a negative fact about you. The weakness you have is to learn more and gain strength to show for your skills.

In the process of working on your failures, you build strong relationships.

Do you fail because you do not take advice?

You argue and do not take advice and improving yourself becomes a struggle. In other words, you are giving up and that is what you do not see in yourself. Feedback is what makes you see your skill and your passion. Always try something new to improve yourself.

Sometimes you think arguing to be right about what is not working for you, will make you succeed. It does not work like that.

Make a change and make it work for you to succeed.

This does not indicate you must take advice from whomever you know. Accept what you hear from others, but do not take that advice.

I listen to what people say and read feedback, but do not take advice from anyone. It is up to me to decide what works best in setting my goals.

I do what makes me feel good.

It is not about who is right in an argument or who is wrong. Insecure people behave in this manner. They are intelligent people but are not secure in what they do for themselves.

People who have these issues about being right in an argument to make excuses for themselves. Using their intellect as a defence mechanism to protect their soft ego is their way of life.

Do you think distraction is a cause of failure?

Social media can put you off track. You need the self-discipline to focus on your skill.

Are you taking responsibility for what happens in your life?

You must be in control of your life and not just have power. Every problem in all aspects of your life is a disorder, you need to be responsible for everything that happens to you. There are situations that appear unfair to you. Anything could happen at any time. You are never prepared for what comes next.

The way I see it, it is easy to talk about and ignore the actual point. You fail at what you like to do when you have lost interest in that skill. Blaming yourself is often what comes to mind when you fail, but you must know that in some situations it is out of your hands.

Do you fail because you do not think it is possible?

Learn from your failures and try to fail at something if not succeed at it. Always try to do something, rather than sit all day hoping for the best to come your way.

How can you accomplish something if you do not try out a new idea?

You lose interest before you have started a project, meaning you give up on trying to succeed too soon.

Using Chronic indifference as a defence mechanism in having a low drive; is no excuse to make yourself feel better. This undermines any strengths you have to succeed. Anything you imagine doing is a failure in your eyes.

To be worthy of love, or self-worth is your poor thinking of improving yourself. In every failure you have, you learn from that and build success.

You need to believe in yourself and focus on what you are capable of doing, and do not give up. Failures build you to succeed.

Do you deserve to succeed?

You think you do not deserve what you want in your life. People who think in this way have a lack of self-esteem. They are getting it from their insecure thoughts. The idea of them having it all is a fear they can’t overcome. These thoughts can ruin what they had worked so hard for all this time.

Never give up on your goals!

MarleneB You are so right! It is up to us to continue with a passion and complete a project and to not think of failure as a negative side of us. Thank you for sharing that.

Marlene Bertrand from USA on April 16, 2021:

I am quick to get passionate about a project, then when the excitement wears off, I put it aside and fail to adequately complete the project. But these "failures" help me learn what I like and don't like. If I had not tried and failed, I might not have learned that the thing I thought I was interested in was not interesting at all.

Ravi Rajan from Mumbai on April 16, 2021:

Thanks Devika for writing a very inspirational article. I personally believe that the failure to move out of the comfort zone is the one of the main reasons why one fails in the goals. The problem with comfort zone is that it brings us to a place where we stop growing and challenging ourselves. And when that happens we are setting ourselves to failure. Thanks for sharing.

Chrish Canosa from Manila Philippines on April 16, 2021:

Nicely written. I needed this!

Denise McGill from Fresno CA on April 15, 2021:

Hi Devika,

I think what other people think of me is very important but I don't let it affect what I do if I know I'm on the right track deep inside. I have a good friend and mentor who keeps telling me to get back to "real painting" in oils or watercolor instead of all the collage I have been doing. Yet I know deep inside that the collage is different and unique, and it makes me happy. You made good points.

Nithya Venkat from Dubai on April 15, 2021:

Hi Bill Thank you for that. It is normal to feel that way, but it is not an option to give up on our failures. I appreciate your time.

Bill Holland from Olympia, WA on April 15, 2021:

Good information, Devika! The hardest thing to look at, at times, is ourselves. The truth is not always kind. :) I had to learn to be brutally honest with myself before I could learn to truly be a productive member of society. Then, suddenly, goals were attainable for me.
