To that land where hearts grow as one

A spiritual ministry

I have been on all of my life

My former husband knows this

Even though I am no longer his wife

*

How I have been told

Since I was a young child

Answers to questions

I have never asked

*

And all kinds of reasons

For why some creatures exist

Yet while others seem to be

Here only by chance

*

I’ve always pondered

Why I am so naïve

Why do I not question

That which others tell me

*

Perhaps that is the way

Of a spiritual ministry

To open one’s self to the one

Who provides the most clarity

*

Maybe it is perchance

You know what I mean

You also have been on

A spiritual ministry

*

Maybe you are like me

A spiritual minister

Though never ordained

Yet filled with infinite spirituality

*

Searching for the mate

Seeking that soul

Whose hand you can hold

And know all is right

*

And when I find that soul mate

How spectacular our ministry will be

Loving and working for all to know

That out spiritual connection makes our hearts grow

*

A great ceremony for all to see

Wearing crowns woven out of grapevine

With the greatest swarm of fireflies

Creating a magical "Soul Mates" forever sign

*

A white gown I imagine to be

Antiqued and simple and looks beautiful on me

With my soul mate wearing his boots and his hat

Holding me close as we cross that mystical track

*

Over to where all our loveliest dreams will come

Just song after song to sing and to be sung

To that land where hearts grow as one

A ministry so special the spirituality of love

I found this poem to represent my thoughts regarding my soul mate. We are one on this spiritual jouney. Blessings.

Suzette,

Any fellow should view himself luckky to have you as his soul mate.

I have also wondered if soul mates exist or were created by some hopeless romantic poet. SMILES.

Have a great weekend,

Kim

Suzette Walker from Taos, NM on November 15, 2013:

Kim, beautiful poem. We all search for that one soul mate. The one that will complete us, and love us without conditions. Do soul mates even exist? I sometimes wonder. I think I have found mine, but I don't think he is sure I'm his! LOL

ocfireflies (author) from North Carolina on October 27, 2013:

Vincent,

I think you are correct that we must never give up in our search for our soul mate. You are very wise. Thank you for reading my little poem.

Many Blessings to You Dear Writer,

Kim

Vincent Moore on October 27, 2013:

We often search a lifetime, never finding our soul mate yet one must never give up, life has its own ways of bringing two together. I've never found mine either, I now know we will not meet on this plane of existence, time has robbed me of that, however we are all on a journey, we will continue on it long after this life has ended here. Your verse was haunting, I enjoyed it very much dear writer.

RQ,

I can't decide if I like being described as a "non-conformist" or "Princess"

the best, so I will just take them both and forget the rest.

As so many times before, you have made my day BE so much more.

Wishing you a wonderful day!

Kim or is that Princess Kim? SMILES!

Romeos Quill from Lincolnshire, England on September 09, 2013:

I hope you find that completion you seek.

Warm Regards,

Thank You!

Martin,

I bet you are a great teacher.

James-wolve,

Interesting response. Maybe, there would be more souls mating if they could catch each other at the same times on the same paths.

My Dearest Max,

Thank You! Your response is so beautiful, and I can tell spoken from a heart that has healed many souls.

Blessings to one and all,

THE SACRED BEND

AN AMERICAN SONNET

We think we know what life . . . is all about,

that all our mysteries . . . are figured out,

and we know how our lives . . . will all turn out,

and nothing of importance is . . . left out.

So we indulge our harmless selves . . . in harmless whim,

and just to keep our better selves . . . in better trim,

we dive into poetic waters for . . . a summer swim,

when WHAM! We hit a rock . . . called FI-er FLIES . . . or Kim.

She tells her little stories so . . . endearingly

she draws us into seeing what . . . she thinks should be.

She makes each reader want to turn . . . into her answer,

so she will never seek or want . . . another dancer.

But as we gasp, she paints for us . . . Eternity,

a realm of love the rest of us . . . but rarely see,

and at her Ceremony she . . . invites us all to see

how beautiful can be . . . a sweet spirit-ual-ity.

While many balk, and others talk, and some have fled,

Kim sees around the Sacred Bend that's miles ahead.

That was absolutely beautiful. It is a magical union you seek in this poem, and in life, and once found it is a completion of a life-long search and so worth it. I have found my union and I am a lucky man. :) Well done my friend.
