When my Beloved Sings. Monday's Inspiration 88, to the Esteemed Writer, Linda Crampton (Alicia)

Manatita is an esteemed author living in London, UK. He writes spiritual books, flash fiction and esoteric poetry, his favourite genre.

Mother Gaia in her harmony and sanctity with life

Linda Crampton (Alicia)

Linda Crampton is an exceptional writer! She's so good in fact, that while I can say that I have seen mistakes in all my hubber-friends writings, including mines, in her case, it is generally minor and even so, extremely rare!

Her articles on biology are immaculate, meticulously detailed, full of information and much Light. She is also versatile and digresses from her main field from time to time, to entertain us with different articles and stories.

Linda has a first-class honours degree in biology from Simon Fraser University in Canada. She also obtained a degree, and completed the Professional Development Program in the Faculty of Education at SFU. Consequently, she was awarded a professional teaching certificate from the British Columbia Ministry of Education.

Linda Crampton taught high school biology, chemistry, and science for many years, as well as other subjects, including Information Technology (IT), and Middle School science. She's currently a science writer, digressing to other fields when necessary. her main topics discussed are biology, nature, and the scientific basis of health and disease.

Pets have been an important part of her life since childhood. She enjoys writing about animals commonly kept as pets and discussing their care. She's also creative with and enjoys listening to music, reading fiction and non-fiction, writing stories and poetry, and examining works of art. (All but the first two and last paragraphs, are paraphrased from Linda's bio)

Linda is one of the few people I know, who can write long articles which are still so engaging and exquisite in delivery!

Solomon expressing devotion to his Beloved

When My Beloved Sings

When my Beloved sings, the Light of the

Soul emerges, as Her melodious Silence, like a

Celestial seraphim, calms my Heart, captivated

By the haunting beauty, of Her lyrical sonata.

When my Beloved sings, my breath

Becomes skillful, like an artiste's brush, its

Graceful flow, like that of an elegant swan,

Gliding across the serenity of a glistening lake.

I watch as clouds unfurl, and the indigo sky

Scroll to Continue

Peeps through, shimmering a verdant hue on

Its quietude, as the banks, filled with whistling

Willows, whisper Her sweet resonance.

When my Beloved sings, She enunciates,

Like the goddess Saraswati, the same one who

Graced the tongue of Aretha with her sweetness,

Adorned the lips of Whitney with fine wine.

I cup my hands in prayer, as She articulates so

Effortlessly, the symphonies of a Mozart in full flow,

The silky-smooth skills of Gaye and Satchmo’s rhythms,

The diction to die for, more astute than Legend … than Dillon’s.

When my Beloved sings, I hear Her mellifluous

Eloquence, like light zephyrs; like a call to weary

Mariners. My gaze fixes inwardly, like a visionary,

And I dream of Love, in the synagogue of the Heart.

The earth is the Lords and the beauty is His Light

On Truth

Snow begins to fall sometimes, like flakes,

Drifting in the atmosphere. The wind blows

Wherever Love takes it, carrying these

Divine messengers of heaven, to the pollen,

The flowers, the foliage … my stained-glass windows.

The light flakes kiss my face and hugs me intimately,

Their healing effects, sometimes exactly what I need.

In this noisy world of modern consumerism,

I am a spark of Spirit, sojourning like flakes; like zephyrs.

Indeed, since I aspire for the Highest, then perhaps

I'm their Master. Still, you would not necessarily know that.

Sometimes I'm fragile, vulnerable … susceptible to danger …

To being squashed upon, like grey mists heralding snow.

Truth is often just as delicate, requiring wisdom-light, to illuminate

Its path. O Lantern, be as wise as Solomon and as gentle as the snow.

Wisdom from Sri Chinmoy

"Love radiates the life of harmony, brightens the joy-consciousness and sharpens the sword of intuition. Love is always ready to meet man's every soulful demand. Love conquers all that is unlike God. It is, indeed, supreme over all. Love gives me my importance in the cosmic Vision of God. Nobody remembers me save my love. My sole treasure is Love."- Sri Chinmoy

You're becoming reflective in youth! The second poem will be remembered more. This is where I'm deliberately using words and images, to teach Spirituality. You seem to know that. Sweet!! Gratitude ... much!

Dora Weithers from The Caribbean on August 16, 2021:

Beautiful poem. I tried to read it imagining when Linda writes. Your second poem makes me think, "Do I prefer the hurricane season or the snow? Guess, it depends on the wind.

Yes Pamela,

I have friends here, who, bless their hearts, worry about the slightest externals. Giru ji says never worry about things you cannot change. He didn't use the word 'control.' The flower quote I happen to find and like.

Yes, Linda is an amazing writer! Thank you so much!

Bill Holland from Olympia, WA on August 16, 2021:

Oddly, I did not know that Linda had taught school. I knew her for her outstanding scientific mind and her love of all things related to biology. I should have assumed she was a teacher.

I also know her to be a supportive member of our HP community, and I am proud to call her a friend.

Bravo to you, Manatita, for this tribute, and bravo to Linda for being who she is.

Pamela Oglesby from Sunny Florida on August 16, 2021:
