Wearing Masks Are Not Always Safe, It Depends on the Situitation.

This was written to make a smile instead of frown, worrying about the C virus and lockdown in our homes.

That's when their masks got tangled.

That's when their masks got tangled.

They were restless and hunkered down

In their charming home town

They're wearing germ fighting masks

Life goes on so they must finish unfinished tasks

They wave as they pass each other in the hall

but, hubby is growing weary and wanting more than watching reruns of Cardinal baseball

He grabbed her and kissed her passionately, putting his arm's around her waist

Their masks got tangled, causing them to come face to face

She told him, " I feel dizzy and need to lie down "

He doesn't listen and continues to follow her around

She thinks, " I reckon I have no other earthly choice "

You ' gotta ' do what you ' gotta ' do when you've lost your c virus lockdown weakened voice.

Thankfully we made it to Walmart before they sold out!

Hello Audrey. I needed to laugh when I wrote this nutty piece, happy it made you smile. It is cold here in the 50's, last week it was 85. We are having crazy weather, plus housebound, it's enough to make one run outside and sing a rock n roll number and do the boogie woogie, of course the cops would put me in a straight jacket, but at least I would get to go someplace. LOL Always good to see you my friend.

Audrey Hunt from Pahrump NV on April 13, 2020:

This made me laugh! I've been so isolated. We've had constant rain and snow for 3 weeks which means I have to give up my walks, gardening and rock art. C'mon Mr. Sunshine...show me some rays!

Ruby Jean Richert (author) from Southern Illinois on April 05, 2020:

Such a clever poem, Ruby. I'm working from home, but have been donning face masks with plastic covering whenever I have to go to Cumberland Farms or get gas. And what a great photo! Toilet paper or paper towels or pretty scare these days. Stay safe, my friend. :-)

Scary times, my Sweet. I got toilet paper too and I told my story here a couple of times. God is merciful!

I like your take on the mask. We need the lightness. I believe they are stronger/safer now (Some) but when I worked, even as late as last year, there was still a need for changing them in going in and out of a room and not walking around with them in non-infected places. They also had a short shelf life once worn.

There has been a call put out for more RGN/RMN's and other key workers. I have been tempted but not strong enough right now. Stay safe, my romantic Queen.

Devika Primić from Dubrovnik, Croatia on March 22, 2020:
