Happiness is for free, and accessible to all. Yet, we find or make it elusive. So what is it and more importantly, how do we find it?

Keep Yourself Occupied

The best way. to stay happy is, of course, to have nothing to ​complain about. The best way to ensure that is to keep yourself busy. Fill your calendar and make your social life as rich as possible. You'll have so many events and activities on your plate that you'll have no time to grumble about them.

Focus on the Positive

Never underestimate the power of a mindset change. Focusing on the positives replicates more of them and soothes us psychologically as well. So the next time things go south, try to think about how it made a positive difference to you.

Stop Complaining

The number one way to start accessing happiness, if only a little of it, is to stop grousing about the food, the family or that annoying friend. While there may be something to grumble about, grumbling only extenuates the situation and worsens it. What we think about often comes about in some way, shape or form, so complaining a little less when situations are untoward could prevent them from coming our way.

Don't Compare

Ambition is healthy, and aspiring to achieve what someone else has is perfectly sound. That said, a needless comparison is not healthy. It does nothing but promote negativity and an unhealthy inferiority complex. So while drawing from examples inspires us, saying that we're not as competent as someone else will only serve to make the statement bear fruit.

Life is full of peaks and falls, so we cannot expect to reach the summit all the time. That said, we'll always have little victories that are worth celebrating. Taking delight in them lets us move forward.

One way to decrease the stress over what we are experiencing is to
practice mindfulness. Being non-judgemental and accepting what we experiencing for what it is will ease our tension and allow us to put things in proper perspective.

Do What You Love

It's hard to radiate joy if you dislike your job. Being happy with your work is essential because you spend most of your waking hours on it.

Optimal situations are not easy to achieve, and we are often left to manage in circumstances that are less than apt. However, we can work to make our work situations as satisfactory to ourselves as possible.

Keep Happy Company

Those who are familiar with the law of attraction will know that what we believe or think about usually manifests itself. So, positivity is key.

Hang out with happy people. When you do, you'll find your thoughts increasingly positive.

Do something different.

Being stuck in a rut is one of the top causes of unhappiness. Being stuck in the same-old, same-old compromises a person's satisfaction with life, no matter how pleasurable their circumstances seem.

This is not an advertisement to forgo one's life situation, especially if it's satisfactory. It's just an invitation to step outside one's comfort zone once in a while. When you surprise yourself by doing what's different successfully, you're motivated to stretch your personal goals a little further.
