Tomorrow Prompt From Brenda Arledge

I enjoy writing about personal experiences with my family. I am interested in traveling, any culture, ancestry relationships and animals.

Dawn

Dawn

This poem talks about working together as a team. The feelings of working as a team are also discussed, along with prevailing as a group.

To the great surprise of the team

Our goal has always been our dream,

More power to the goals of the group

Our combined effort is the scoop,

Rewards keep coming as we strive

Rowing quickly just to feel alive,

Our efforts combined as we exhale

We stand together so we prevail

"Annie" (1982) - Tomorrow

This second poem is about having so much to do that it is hard to get it done. This poem talks about working together.

Organizing everything as we can

Errands and chores are the demand,

We try to take our 10,000 steps

We run out of time with our shelps

Tomorrow is another day

Our effort is just not enough

We simply have too much stuff

We try to succeed where others failed

Our best plans have gotten derailed

Tomorrow is another day

If we want to try and succeed

We try so hard, yes indeed,

We move quickly through the day

Packing too much in, there is no way

Tomorrow is another day

Don’t worry, it’ll wait one more day

Together we will surely find a way,

Joining together as a strong group

Together we all have the scoop

Tomorrow is another day

Wonderful takes on "tomorrow", Pamela. Together we can accomplish greater things than we can alone. But, then again, there's always tomorrow!

MG Singh emge from Singapore on March 24, 2021:

Nice poem Pamela, you have picked up the gauntlet and done well.

Liz Westwood from UK on March 24, 2021:

This is a well-written selection of poetry. You made great word choices with the first. The song from Annie brings back memories of seeing it on stage as a child in London. I can really relate to your second poem.

BRENDA ARLEDGE from Washington Court House on March 24, 2021:

Fran...

Pamela didn't think she could write poetry either, but she is great.

I look forward to reading your work.

You can write a short story if you like.

Pamela Oglesby (author) from Sunny Florida on March 24, 2021:

I think am glad you think this is a good response to the challenge.

Thank you so much for your comments.

BRENDA ARLEDGE from Washington Court House on March 24, 2021:

Pamela,

Thank you for writing such an inspirational piece.

Your first poem reminds us that we do better when we work together.

Life is so much easier when we have others in our corner.

A great acrostic poem.

Your second one is so true.

I often feel like I do not have enough time...

"We run out of time with our shelps

Tomorrow is another day"

Then I feel like my efforts have went down the drain. But you are right...tomorrow is another day.

Sensational work, my friend.

John Hansen from Gondwana Land on March 24, 2021:

Hi Manatita,

I absolutely agree about leadership and team spirit. I love harmony and Oneness.

You always sound happy and at peace with life. I appreciate your comments. Blessings.

manatita44 from london on March 24, 2021:

Lovely thoughts. I have always believed in leadership. I say this, as any good conglomerate knows, team spirit follows when the leadership is excellent! Harmony is nearly everything! I saw nearly, because Oneness is Higher. Love and God both exists as one within Oneness.

I live alone, but those wise fellows are hiding in my Heart. They kiss my lips from time to time. Praise be! Lovely theme and kudos to Brenda for igniting that Light in you. Shalom!

Pamela Oglesby (author) from Sunny Florida on March 24, 2021:

You have a wonderful husband that cooks, so you are not alone. I think most people want a loved one in their life.

Peggy Woods from Houston, Texas on March 24, 2021:

I enjoyed your poems, Pamela, and the message of working together for a common goal. If everything does not get done in one day, there is always tomorrow! Like you and Bill, I relate to wanting someone by my side.

Pamela Oglesby (author) from Sunny Florida on March 24, 2021:

Hi Bill,

You picked up on my point exactly. I don't want to be alone either. I am happy when I am with my husband and my sons visit.

Thank you so much for your comments. Have a good day!

Bill Holland from Olympia, WA on March 24, 2021:

My take on these two poems: United we stand!

I hate to think of going through life alone. It's just not something that would appeal to me at all. :) Thank you for the inspirational reminder.
