Thy Word: The Narrow Path
John is an actor, academic, entrepreneur, financial pundit, and writer interested in the search for truth and meaning in the world.
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Psalm 119:105
There are many Paths in creation
None without a final destination.
Most take the path of least resistance,
But a few are willing to go the distance.
God calls every man to decide
Where his soul shall forever abide.
Choose the path that leads to redemption;
It saves souls from the road to perdition
For thy word is a lamp unto my feet
And a light unto my path.
That saves from coming wrath
If I follow your plan
Its my fortress in times of distress.
Its the place where I find rest.
There is a way that to man seems right.
Yet, the right path emanates God’s light.
Oh, merciful Father, let my ears hear.
The Holy Scriptures spoken clear.
Light the path of my feet, I plea;
Open my eyes so that they see.
The light You’ve given to set me free.
So I’ll take the path that leads to Thee.
For thy word is a lamp unto my feet
And a light unto my path
That saves from coming wrath.
If I follow your plan.
Its my fortress in times of distress.
Its the place where I'll find rest.
Holy Lord, hear my supplication.
And bless me in this generation —
Keep Your hand upon me mightily
And let Your spirit flow through me.
Deliver me from the fog of uncertainty
By opening the door to life’s mystery.
Ignite a fire in me to do
Your will And give me the courage to flee evil.
For thy word is a lamp unto my feet
And a light unto my path
That saves from coming wrath
If I follow your plan,
It’s my fortress in times of distress.
It’s the place where I'll find rest.
