Tender Kisses

Love Poems

Tre poesie d'amore is Italian for three love poems.

In French it would read: trois poèmes d'amour.

In whatever language it is said, we all love to read love poetry. Our romantic hearts reverberate with the desire for love, and poetry sometimes fills the need. On Valentine's Day, we celebrate the love we have for the subject of our heart's desire.

Gifts of many sizes, shapes and kinds are given to the one that causes our hearts to skip a beat. Greeting card sales skyrocket--as do the price of a dozen roses! Chocolate candy disappears from the shelves of every store.

Poems are sometimes one of the gifts we give to our love. I'm sharing these tre poesie d'amore to commemorate my love for my beloved. In whatever language you say it, tell the one you love that you love them -- through love poems!

So, I share 3 More Love Poems.

Pet Names

Romantic Pet Names

Poetic images evoke different emotions centered on "The Beloved". Our significant other can be loved in many ways. Often, we have pet names for each other. This is the effect that I have tried to relate through the imagery of this poem.

And You

And you, my tender creature,

you, my pleasure, my pain.

How you are my rapture.

How you are my gain.

And you, my life’s delight,

you, my garden’s only flower.

How you are my light.

How you are my morning shower.

And you, my rainbow,

you, my leaping, graceful, doe.

How you are my gift from Cupid’s arrow.

How you are my heart’s ember’s glow.

Romantic Love

At times, waiting for one to love to come along seems to last forever. When a lover is found, the romantic love we have stored up within us seems to erupt and overwhelmingly surprise "The Beloved". We have waited and now want to show all the love we have inside.

Romantic Roses

My Lass, at Last

You my lass, at last;

patient for you, the past

is passed in favor of you.

Your face, a face I’ve faced

in dreams. In fact,

I’ve seen your smile,

a smilin’ in my soul.

Melt my heart, from the start,

In a puddle of romance, of love,

of sweetness, to savor, together.

Partake from the wealth of my love,

From waiting for you;

you my lass, at last.

Soul Mates

Romance of Nature

The feelings we experience seem so deep that Nature is called upon to help celebrate the love that is inside of our souls. Words are often not enough to express the depth of these feelings. Our romantic hearts throb along with nature. The ways we interact with nature is emphasized in this poem. Sometimes the connection with nature influences the imagery of our poetry.

O Nature, Burst Forth Her Name!

Her Name

Oh Nature, burst forth her name.

Roar her name, oh falls.

Echo her name, oh mountains.

Call her name, oh valleys.

Sing her name, oh birds and trees.

Babble, bubble her name, oh brook.

Shine her name, oh sun.

Whisper her name, oh wind.

Oh heart of mine, beat forth her name.

Your Love Poetry

Your Love Poems

Some if not most of us have tried to write a love poem, even if just re-quoting or paraphrasing "Roses are red, violets are blue." Successful love poetry is so, only when it touches the heart of your Beloved.

I'm hoping that this year you would take pen (or keyboard) in hand and memorialize your love in writing. Here, I share 3 Love Poems.

Let me know if you have success!

Maybe you could write tre poesie d'amore!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Thank you for the kind words, rajan. I've tried to capture the heart of these feelings. Yes, love can transform us; not just romantic love but love for our fellow man. The love between a man and a woman, romantic love, is what poems were made for I think. :o)

Rajan Singh Jolly from From Mumbai, presently in Jalandhar, INDIA. on February 10, 2013:

Beautiful imagery in these poems. How love can transform a person can only be felt, but you've brought out it so well in your poems.

Thanks for this treat, aj. Just awesome.

Up and beautiful.
