No more a leper!

Once upon a time, there was a man who had a skin problem. His skin problem was very severe and people did not like to be near him or touch him. Everyone would shoo him away. He was treated like scum because of his skin problem. Nobody could feel him or his pain. He felt rejected and torn from within. His name was Kodi.
One day, as Kodi was going about his everyday work in a lonely and secluded place, he overheard someone talking about a man called Jesus.
"Jesus," they said, "is God sent. He can heal any sickness; we have heard that he has been preaching and driving out demons from people in Galilee this morning. Those from whom the demons came out were even heard shouting, that he is the Son of God."
As soon as Kodi heard this, his impatience knew no bounds. He wanted to meet this Jesus urgently and as fast as He could. He wanted to be free. He wanted to live life as every other beautiful person around him did. He wanted life as it was meant to be.
While he was still lost in his reverie, some sudden noise and commotion disturbed him. There was a crowd walking on the road, and it looked like there was someone in the middle, someone whom they wanted to touch or reach. As an impulse from within, he felt that he too should go and see what was going on there. "What if it's the Jesus I had heard them talk about?" he thought.
Immediately he got on his feet and rushed towards the crowd. He had many inhibitions within, like "what if he too shoos me away?",
"will he even want to look at me?", "he may be too holy to even draw near to me." But then, his pain was too much to contain. He couldn't carry on life with such a sickness. So he made up his mind that come-what-may he would face Jesus, even if he has to beg him to be healed, he will.
After trodding a few steps towards where the crowd was, Kodi could now see Jesus. It was indeed Jesus. Kodi had never seen his photograph, video or the like, for in those days such things were non-existent. But as soon as he saw him, he knew it was to be Jesus alone. There was grace on his face, something god-like, and with so many around him, it was now quite obvious that it was him alone.
"Jesus!" screamed Kodi, and moved as fast as he could towards where Jesus was. In his heart of hearts, he felt as if Jesus had heard him already, even though he was quite far away from the crowd. Then finally when he was quite close to Jesus, and all the crowd around him had repelled - as if he were some trodden excrement - he went down on his knees and begged him, "If you are willing, you can make me clean."

How the words came out of his mouth even he couldn't understand, but they did, and then hope arose; it arose from the depth of his heart; it felt as if he had spoken words of faith and something was about to happen. When he looked at Jesus he could see love and compassion flowing out from his eyes. Such things are not tangible, but Kodi could still feel it. He could feel the compassion; and then, the unspeakable happened; nobody could have thought or perceived what they were about to witness. Jesus reached out his hand and touched Kodi. "I am willing," he said. "Be clean!"
It all happened in a matter of seconds, and before Kodi could speak a word or ponder on another issue, he realised that leprosy had left him. It was gone. Kodi could feel it, he could feel the change on his skin. The impossible had happened; the Messiah had done it. Kodi was a new man now. Kodi was transformed; but not from within, for he still had a little naughty kid inside.
Jesus sent him away at once, with a strong warning that he shouldn't tell about this supernatural healing to anyone, and that he should show himself to a priest as the law of the time dictated. But Kodi was only externally perfected, he still needed to be renewed from within. He thought in his heart, "maybe Jesus doesn't know yet, but there are some friends whom I can tell all this. I feel so happy about being healed. I can't resist my excitement. Jesus won't mind. What harm will it bring to him if I tell my closest buddies? How does it matter? It doesn't. He is too spiritual and doesn't understand the ways of the world. This will only give him some extra fame and more popularity. Who doesn't want that?"
So Kodi told his best buddies and they, in turn, told their best-buddies and they theirs. Soon the news about Kodi's healing spread far and wide, and as a result, Jesus could no longer enter a town openly but stayed outside in lonely places.

Have you ever tried to reason out when God told you not to do something, as Kodi did?
We must remember that God's knowledge is super just as his power is supernatural. He knows more! So we can take him at his word and do exactly as he has asked us to, without adding or subtracting from it. And if that's less, why not ask Jesus to enter your heart today? He will pour his Holy Spirit on you and then you will hear from him more. Not only that, you may even end up seeing him. Yes, because Jesus said that 'blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God' (Matthew 5:8).
