The Twitter Tweeting Twitching Thumb

Shyron is a retired Customer Service Rep. for Verizon. Colleges attended: Triton, Melrose Park, Illinois and Elgin, in Elgin, Illinois.

The reason for this hysterical satirical poem

I heard of Mr. Trump tweeting before during and after his Presidential campaign.

I heard Mr. Trump on the stump say he would not lie to the American people.... And then he lied. He lied about lying.

Mr. Trump said he would stop tweeting when he became President ..... And then he lied

I thought about this many months.... then when he tweeted that his tower was wire tapped by his predecessor.

A man who cannot take responsibility for his words

Should leave tweeting to the birds

The Twitter Tweeting Twitching Thumb

© by Shyron Shenko

The twitter tweeting twitching thumb

It is better on the twitter device

Than on the button of the nuclear bomb

But it is a danger either way

The Ogre who lives in a tower

Thinks everything is a game of power

As over the whole country he reigns

Bragging of things he will change

Anything goes wrong he looks for others to blame

When he was told of the larger crowd

At his predecessor’s inaugural ball

To the ogre it was bitter as gall

He began looking for ways to make his predecessor fall

His jealous streak won’t let him be

He hates anyone who’s respected more than he

Then one day the ogre heard

What a hateful old Judge on Faux News had to say

Thinking the ogre did not hear what he had to convey

From his chambers the hateful old Judge twittered away

“Was Candidate Trump Spied On?”

This left the Donald half crazed

The Ogre accused his predecessor

Of Malicious and vicious intent

Of having him wire tapped

With the FBI’s consent

The hateful old Judge

Set off a fire storm of tweets

By tossing the ogre a few treats

Knowing he would fall for anything tweeted

As the hateful old Judge insinuates If not outright states

That President Obama had Trump wire Tapped

As anything democratic he hates

And especially how President Obama Rates

As his Twitter Tweeting Twitching Thumb

Is beginning to grow numb

Let us hope he does not mistake

The buttons on his twitter device for the button on the bomb

A man who cannot take responsibility for his words

Should leave tweeting to the birds

But, maybe if he tweets it’s just as well

He still may end-up in a padded cell

President Trump's Tweet

Terrible! Just found out that Obama had me "wires tapped" in Trump Tower just before the victory. Nothing found. This is McCarthyism!

— Donald J. Trump

Guess The Donald can't give up on his tweeting. I think I heard that Biden promised that if elected he would not tweet. That might be a nice change.

Posting this to FB & AH.

Sent you a birthday card . . . hope you had a wonderful birthday and did something special. Blessings, dear friend. Stay safe.

Thank you Au fait, you are right on. Thank you for the comments and for being such a good friend.

Blessings always.

C E Clark from North Texas on May 26, 2020:

Apparently one of the main jobs of the president (when he's not playing golf) is rage-tweeting.That's about all he does. I understand they're going to start fact checking his tweets. About time.

Hope you are well and staying safe in spite of everything opening up and encouraging a second wave of the virus. Blessings dear friend . . .

C E Clark from North Texas on May 14, 2020:

I've read that Trump is one, if not Thee, most prolific tweeters in the world. He tweets hundreds of tweets daily, and more on weekends. Probably has calluses on his thumbs and/or fingers. Too bad he doesn't utilize his brain as efficiently. Then again, maybe we're lucky he's satisfied to sit tweeting and watching TV most days . . .

Posting this to AH & FB.

Hope you taking care and staying safe, dear friend . . .

C E Clark from North Texas on January 28, 2020:

Learned on YouTube from one of our news agencies (don't remember which one now), that Trump's tweet record is 181 in one day. Would think he'd have calluses on his thumbs!

Trump acts very strange for a not-guilty man. If he's innocent as he proclaims, I would think he'd welcome an investigation that would prove his innocence if that is truly the case. But instead he threatens Congress members that if they don't go along with whatever he wants their heads will be on a pike and there will be a price to pay. He refuses to allow people to testify. Sounds guilty as hell to me. I've seen/heard him on video admit to many of the things he's accused of, so I know he's guilty. The GOP members are also guilty as enablers. The whole works should all be in jail.

As Nancy says, impeachment is forever, but I think it's unlikely Trump will be removed from office much less jailed.

Shyron E Shenko (author) from Texas on October 27, 2019:

I agree with you that the republicans are as morally bankrupt as Trump is and Putin is his Idol and Trump followers are becoming Putin worshipers also. I am just hoping that he will be impeached and maybe get some jail time too.

Blessings to you always my friend.

C E Clark from North Texas on October 15, 2019:

Seems that Trump is continually tweeting up a storm. Daily, because he is so angry about his impeachment investigations. He has done so many horrible things, and now the murders of the Kurds, including even the children.

I really think Trump is evil incarnate. Republicans who support him are as morally bankrupt as he is. How else could they condone the terrible things he has done and continues to do?

Unbelievable that Trump is allowed to use an unsecured phone not only for his tweets, but even important international calls to other country's leaders -- after the ignorant things he said about Hillaries emails. Every time I think I know how stupid many people are, I discover that I have given them more credit for intelligence than they deserve.

Hope all is well with you. Blessings, dear friend . . .

C E Clark from North Texas on July 09, 2019:

Speaking of God, I saw a video on YouTube where a bunch of evangelicals, including their leaders, believe Trump is the Second Coming of Jesus. Can you believe it? To even compare Trump to Jesus has to be a terrible sin, but these people think Trump is one and the same. That he IS Jesus returned. Mind blowing!

Blessings and hugs dear friend. I hope all is well with you . . .

Shyron E Shenko (author) from Texas on September 20, 2018:

Au fait, thank you so much for the comments. I know trump and GOP senators all think he is God, talk about one rotten apple spoiling the others, and he blames all things on others.

Blessings my dear friend

Hope all is well with you

C E Clark from North Texas on August 29, 2018:

Can you believe Trump is accusing Google of purposely putting negative stories about himself ahead of the 'good things' Trump has done? First of all, what 'good thing" has Trump done? Second, Trump just can't stop himself from telling the world how stupid he is at every opportunity. He doesn't understand the first thing about algorithms. What can you expect of somebody who thinks you have to show an I.D. to buy groceries?

Blessings dear friend. Take care . . .

Shyron E Shenko (author) from Texas on August 15, 2018:

Au fait, thank you for the comment.

This president's idol /role model is putin. he wants to be America's dictator.

I know about the comments but did not get notification about them and I will have to go through each hub and answer them, but time is not on my side, today I missed an appointment, because I have no time, makes me wonder what I did when John was alive.

Hope all is well with you.

Blessings and hugs dear friend.

C E Clark from North Texas on July 24, 2018:

This has to be the most immature ridiculous presidency this country has ever had. He thinks he's being hard on Putin, so maybe his latest threat to Iran means he's going to give them everything they want and get nothing in return (like N. Korea) and then invite the head of Iran to the White House (like Putin). Better than going to war, but still ludicrous all things considered.

I've noticed over the months that you have comments on several of your articles that you haven't responded to, and not just mine, but from lots of different people -- older comments. It makes me worry that I may have some like that too. I come across one I didn't know about every once in a while and wonder why I wasn't notified that I'd gotten it. Found 3 like that last week. Hope all is well with you. Blessings dear friend . . .

Ann, I am just now seeing your comment. You are right and I don't tweet either, I guess trump tweets because his tweeter does not tweet back.

Thank you for this comment and Blessings my friend.

C E Clark from North Texas on April 24, 2018:

I think I heard that Trump sent out 25 tweets, a record for him, instead of attending Barbara Bush's funeral. Also saw Malania smiled for the first time since marrying Trump while she was in Conversation with Obama at the funeral.

Hope all is well with you. Blessings dear friend. One day at a time . . .

Linda Lum from Washington State, USA on April 07, 2018:

I don't know how I missed this when it was first published; so glad that it finally came to my attention (Ann Carr shared at as a link in one of her poems today).

How did we ever get into such a pickle? It would be laughable if not so tragic. Hopefully, the nuclear football is nowhere within reach. Thank you for helping me to chuckle about this. You said it well my dear.

Ann Carr from SW England on April 07, 2018:

Superb! I can't stand the man and that's just seeing it from across the pond. However, his excessiveness affects us too so I suppose we're equally in danger, if not the whole world. He is, in my mind, a pompous egotist, dangerous because of his impulsiveness and, as you say, a liar. I really don't understand why the American people saw fit to vote him in.

I don't do twitter as it seems to do more harm than good, though we only find out about the bad side of it I suppose.

Well done, Shyron, for this humorous look at a serious subject!

Au fait, thank you my dear friend for the comments and sticking with me through all this, with what happened to Kev and the discouraging of hp it is very disheartening.

Hope all is well with you, Blessings and hugs.

C E Clark from North Texas on November 29, 2017:

Wouldn't you think Trump's tweeter would be all tweeted out by now? In office for just over 10 months, but it feels more like 10 years to many of us. Instead of his hair going white from the pressure and weight of the duties of the president, it's our hair going white from putting up with him and his reckless attitude toward pretty much everything!

Hope all is going well and the best it can be at your house. Blessing dear friend. Take care . . .

Shyron E Shenko (author) from Texas on October 26, 2017:

Hello my dear friend, thank you for the comments. I guess you know by now they won and soon Medicare will be gone to give the filthy rich more of a tax break, the tax reform bill passed the House.

John is home from the hospital and he saw the surgeon's PA today and they wanted to start drug therapy and he would not sign for it, I think she was surprised and looked to me to convince him, but like I told him all they want is money, and I agree that he does not need any medication, his pain was gone after the surgery.

Sorry you have diabetes.

Hope everything else is well with you. Blessings my dear friend.

C E Clark from North Texas on October 21, 2017:

I still don't have a Twitter account.

Anything would seem to be possible, but I really don't expect much in the way of change so far as the presidency is concerned until the next election cycle. Pence would usher in even more discrimination against people who are not white and blue-eyed, married to someone of the opposite sex with a house in an upscale neighborhood, with 2 kids, 2 cars, and a dog. It seems more and more that Republicans hate the current Constitution which tries to guarantee everyone have equal rights and protections, but of course if the government chooses to ignore these rights and protections the Constitution becomes nothing more than a piece of paper for house-training puppies.

We are living in another rendition of the Dark Ages. As Trump would say -- sad.

Hope all is well with you, John, and Chipper. Take care dear friend, and many blessings to you all . . .

Shyron E Shenko (author) from Texas on August 06, 2017:

Au fait, thank you for the comment, and compliment. I absolutely agree with you. Pence would be worse, it is like people use to say "at least we know what we have in the WH right now, impeach him and we could and probably would get worse with Pence who would do things in secret and we would not know until we got slapped with things that we did not bargain for, and most of us (myself included) did not vote for.. I would hope the election would be overturned if it is proven that Mr. trump colluded with the Russians.

Blessings my dear friend I do hope all is well with you.

C E Clark from North Texas on August 02, 2017:

The birds might manage the presidency of the U.S. better too.

Forgot to mention that I especially like the graphic at the top, too.

Trump seems to be a president without a party. He's so insulted the other Republicans that they're starting to see him more as a liability than a benefit. I don't favor impeachment though, because I think Pence would be worse. Pence would be more presidential, yes, but he knows how to get things done and to avoid causing a constant and continual chaos. Sometimes it's better when things don't get done because they're things you don't really want to happen. With Trump in office, given his agenda and the Republican agenda, I think it's better that nothing is getting done. I'm afraid if the circus was removed that lots of bad things would start getting done.

Hope you are all enjoying our cooler weather. I know I am. It could be even cooler and I wouldn't complain. Blessings dear friend. Shared this on FB. Hope it brings some views.

Shyron E Shenko (author) from Texas on May 03, 2017:

Peg, thank you for your comment and compliment. I don't think we are as divided as it appears, I truly believe that we will all become closer as time goes on, at least I hope so.

Blessings my friend.

Peg Cole from North Dallas, Texas on May 01, 2017:

You have a true talent for satire shown here in your poetry. I agree, it is rather frivolous of a President to tweet emotional responses to situations that come up, much like the rest of us who use social media to express our feelings. He should be above that. Unfortunately for the American people, the political situation in both the current and previous administration seems to have divided us rather than united us as a country. When I read comments from people who "hate" the Trump followers, it reminds me that at least half of the voting population are among that group falling into the "hated" realm. The other day I read a comment on Facebook where a woman said she rarely uses the word "hate" but she went on to say she hated our President and all of his followers. Half of our country hates the other half. How sad. Politics has really taken a turn for the worse in general.

Shyron E Shenko (author) from Texas on April 23, 2017:

Audrey, I am so happy this made you chuckle, I don't laugh at this guy either, but I have to write this way so I will not become depressed about the state of our country.

Bless you and thank you for the comments.

Amen! This made me chuckle today--and I don't always laugh about this guy!

Shyron E Shenko (author) from Texas on April 21, 2017:

Shauna, thank you for the comment, the tweeting is not as bad as the dismantling of the EPA, Education (public schools) and all the other things that keep our country strong and safe.

Blessings and hugs dear friend.

Shauna L Bowling from Central Florida on April 19, 2017:

I think it's tacky as hell that Trump tweets in the first place. That's not presidential behavior if you ask me.

Shyron E Shenko (author) from Texas on April 13, 2017:

Linda, thank you for the comment, me too, I just keep praying for our children, their education, our environment and all the things that we worked for all our lives and this man trump will take away. I am sorry for what I said to my husband before the election, "I Almost wish trump would win so people would see what a nincompoop he is."

Blessings my friend

Chris Mills from Traverse City, MI on April 08, 2017:

Dear Martie, thank you for the comment. Trump himself said he will not tweet once he becomes president (he lied) he said it is not presidential (first truth I heard him speak.

Hope things have calmed down in your corner of the world

Dear Paula, thank you for the compliment and comments.

I love the sign also, Tweety and Sylvester too.

Trumpster should be his name

Because cheating, lying and tweeting is his game

He said and knows it is not Presidential

But, he keeps tweeting just the same

So no need to tip-toe out

It makes me happy GF anytime you give me a shout

Hugs to you too.

Lol, Shyron. The second I saw the title, I knew what your hub would be about. What a cool poem and so apropos! This man has taken lying to new heights (or should I say, lows); Politico recently published that he has lied approximately 70% of the time. When will his devout followers finally admit that their "emperor has no clothes"? And I loved the Tennessee Bird Walk video.

Martie Coetser from South Africa on March 22, 2017:

Trump, in particular, should not tweet. He is making an utter fool of himself. Or perhaps I should rather say that he is shooting himself in the foot. He is clearly not a wise man.

Suzie from Carson City on March 22, 2017:

Shy....You should get angry more often! You write great poetry when you're mad! LOL Actually, you write wonderful poems even when you're not mad. I LOVE the sign being held by the couple~~it's too cute. Makes me think of "Tweety Bird" one of my favorite cartoon characters! I had a yellow canary years ago that I named Tweety....and Yes, of course, a black & white Putty Tat I called "Sylvester!" Original, aren't I?

It's quite curious why the Trumpster doesn't seem to realize that his tweeting is foolish, annoying, un-Presidential & causing those who hate him to want to bitch-slap him. Clearly, he is unconcerned with it all. I can feel the vibes on this thread and they're none too pleasant.

Guess I'll tip-toe back outta here...like I came in....Hugs to you, GF........Paula

Au fait, thank you for the comment.

I fear you are right and that trump hates America and would sell us all out or maybe he has sold us all out.

I hope you saw the Rachel Maddow show tonight, she explained how the smear of Hillary Clinton was perpetrated and even Bernie Saunders.

It is horrid and has been going on for years. What scares me the most is that people believe the smear against Hillary.

Trump cares nothing about our soldiers or anyone else.

Blessings and hugs my dear friend

Shyron E Shenko (author) from Texas on March 21, 2017:

Flourish, thank you for the comment. Yes someone needs to take his phone away and yes trump is a disaster and the people who are going along with his insanity are just as bad.

Glad you liked my poem.

Ruby, my beautiful friend, I was just watching Rachel Maddow tonight and found out how the Russians interfered in our election, everyone should read the transcript of tonight’s show, it is a shocker, we need everybody who knows anything about computers to fight this evil.

Dear Randy, thank you for the comment, I really appreciate you, glad you enjoyed my poem.

“Twit-ler.” LOL, that is funny. Blessings always

C E Clark from North Texas on March 21, 2017:

"He hates anyone who’s respected more than he." That's all of us everywhere in the world, isn't it?

Trump did indeed tweet lies even as his lies about being wire tapped were being outed by FBI Chief Comey as he testified in the House Intelligence Committee hearing on television. Yup Trump tweeted more lies about his previous lies. The man is layered in lies. Doubt any of us have ever heard him tell the truth about anything.

Not much was made of it, but on March 9th this year Trump sent more of our troops into Syria. Can't say I agree with that. I want our people brought home. Alive.

Going to share this on FB. Really like your words:

A man who cannot take responsibility for his words

Should leave tweeting to the birds

Blessings to you and John. Take care . . .

Ruby Jean Richert from Southern Illinois on March 21, 2017:

Shy, I'm wondering how much more the American people can take before calling for impeachment? I bet his thumbs are swollen from tweeting, usually his tweeting is 2-3 in the morning. How High Is The Water Mama? White on my friend......

Randy Godwin from Southern Georgia on March 21, 2017:

Enjoyed the poem, Shyron. Many are referring to Trump as "Twitler" these days. LOL!

I have had to back off of Trump lately. He makes me so irate that I lose all touch with "my reality" the reality of everyday life.
