Your Future is Bright: Poetry and Quotes

Author:
the-future-is-bright

Every breath you take is one more step into your future. It's one more brick laid onto your foundation. Make every one count, because once a moment has passed, it dies. The good thing is that there's another moment right around the corner. So, make mistakes, but learn from them. Take chances, but always make decisions based on love. Don't look over your shoulder into the past, unless it helps you to mold your future. Be thankful for each breath, live to help others, and use your talents before they are wasted. Your future is being built right now.

"Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see."~Hebrews 11:1

Up Ahead

Twisted pathways leading to despondence,

Long, dark tunnels with no friends for correspondence,

Happy days weren't ahead, they seemed only behind,

Then a pinpoint of light awakened hopes beyond the grind,

The future is ahead, I'm not stuck in my depressing past,

Memories are just impressions, those moments don't always last,

Everyday is a new beginning, I only have to choose,

To be joyful beyond my circumstances, I've got nothing to lose!

"Let go of the past and go for the future. Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you imagined."~Henry David Thoreau

Michelle: Well, everyone can look forward to each new day; another opportunity to make their dreams and goals a reality. Personally, I know my future is in God's hands: "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

Why is ur future bright

Erin Bower (author) from Georgia on September 16, 2011:

This is true. I'll continue to look for another part time job or maybe even a full time job.

f on September 16, 2011:

Good to maintain a thankful spirit always, anyway. Glad about your job. (No need to give up your job search though.)

Blessings.

Erin Bower (author) from Georgia on September 16, 2011:

Amen :)

'In every thing give thanks' 1 Thess. 5.17, right?

Erin Bower (author) from Georgia on September 16, 2011:

I've thanked God several times since it happened. :) Good point; I hadn't thought about it in that way, but I guess you're right.

f on September 16, 2011:

PS: I suppose in the long term you are looking for a more cosmopolitan, urban or semi-urban environment where you might be able to develop sophisticated fashion and aesthetic tastes. Where there are likely to be Christian young men who appreciate quality art and fashion, etc.

Blessings.

f on September 16, 2011:

YW & great news! (Have you thanked the Lord yet?) Keep praying, thanking and hoping!

Blessings.

Yes, I don't plan to stay here forever. I'm basically just here so I can live with my parents until I get on my feet again. I didn't get a chance to tell you, but a couple of days ago I was contacted by a tutoring company. I will be tutoring students in their homes. It's only part-time, but I am extremely grateful for the opportunity. Some money is better then no money; lol. I have tutored in the past, so I'm excited to do it again. But, yes, I will move somewhere else where there are more young single people such as myself and hopefully in a bigger city. Thanks for your encouragement over the past few months. :)

f on September 16, 2011:

Think you'll move (eventually, if you get a job?)

Best to pray about it, anyway.

Blessings.

Erin Bower (author) from Georgia on September 16, 2011:

Sometimes I feel like that, because I don't have many friends here where I live.

f on September 16, 2011:

I guess you had something in mind when you wrote that line.

But anyway; your words are what you share; your thoughts are yours alone ...

Blessings.

Erin Bower (author) from Georgia on August 27, 2011:

Thanks for voting! Yes, I believe it's a pretty interesting line.

f on August 27, 2011:

Re-reading this, it's an intriguing line:

'Long, dark tunnels with no friends for correspondence'.

(Voted up, btw)

Blessings.

Our daughter leaves, in too few days, for the USA to attend university for her freshman year. Your hub is timely, helpful and oh so welcomed. Thank you ever so much for allowing us, and her, to share in the wisdom of these words.

Erin Bower (author) from Georgia on August 19, 2011:

This is true. Hebrews is a great book from the Bible. I haven't read it in awhile, but I remember it being challenging and encouraging.

f on August 19, 2011:

I love Hebrews 11, which you quote from. Gives many examples of faith to follow.

Erin Bower (author) from Georgia on August 08, 2011:

Thanks! That's one of my favorites, too. :)

Phil Plasma from Montreal, Quebec on August 08, 2011:
