"THE JOURNEY OF A BLACK WOMAN, FROM A WHISPER TO A SCREAM"

When the world gazes upon our earthly tones,
time just stands still, motionless!

Like a rhapsody articulating its own personal sound, leaving the world
breathless,
standing around,
filling the air with monumental acclaim,
that's the journey of a black woman, from a whisper to a scream.

When the world gazes upon our earthly tones,
time just stands still, motionless!
Like back in the Motherland when our ancestors spirits ran free, dancing,
leaping, wailing, in soulful jubilee,
then resting beneath the clouds until
their energy regained its glee, these are the trickling memories of life that
once held our frame,
that's the journey of a black woman, from a whisper to a scream.

When the world gazes upon our earthly tones,
time just stands still, motionless!
In wondrous delight and array, captivated by the sheer elegance only a
diamond can convey, while dancing amongst the stars in its full moon
cabaret,
that's the journey of a black woman, from a whisper to a scream.

When the world gazes upon our earthly tones,
time just stands still, motionless!
Beauty undisturbed by the passages of time, leaving shivers rippling down
our spine, as we ride upon the tips of the red sea, landing on the steps of serenity,
cultivated by the winds of omnipotence gleam,
that's the journey of a black woman, from a whisper to a scream.

Thanks, I like writing in caps, I know it suppose to mean I'm yelling & maybe I am at points in my literature but, it's really just that I enjoy writing with caps, it's no more than that well, i hope this doesn't deter you from reading a few more passages of my poetry, thanks again for taking the time...R.K./LP

Tony McGregor from South Africa on December 16, 2009:

Thanks for sharing this heartfelt piece. A question - what's with the all caps style? Personally I find it very difficult to read something written all in caps.

Love and peace

Tony
