Shoe Lover

I have been a shoe lover all of my life. In my opinion, you can never have too many shoes.

However, a few years ago I met someone who was more of a shoe lover than me. She had enough shoe to open her own shoe store. There were shoes everywhere in her home. I just couldn't get over it.

In memory of her, this little hub was written, filled with tongue in cheek quotes and sayings. I know she would have loved this small tribute to her favorite thing in the world, shoes.

moonlake, I used to wear the heels and such. I now stick to all kinds of flat shoes. I especially love all of the decorative flip flops they've come out with.

Enjoyed your hub very interesting. I use to wear spike heels now I wear what is comfortable. Most of the time that is my house slippers or bare foot. Voted up.

Susan Hazelton (author) from Sunny Florida on August 12, 2012:

sai, it is rapid consumerism if you buy a pair in every color.

ROVELYN JOR, thanks. I love shoes.

ROVELYN JOR on August 10, 2012:

I LOVE IT SUPER ?//

Pinkchic, I have to agree, 4 pair of shoes is a little low. I'd say it's more likely 4 pair of shoes per season. For me anyway. They did a study and they say 4 pair of shoes is all that most women admit to buying per year.

Sarah Carlsley from Minnesota on April 19, 2011:

Love it! Though I don't know how the average woman only buys 4 pairs of shoes each year. I'm a little more than that :)

Susan Hazelton (author) from Sunny Florida on April 16, 2011:

Thanks Leptirela. Thanks for the rating.

Paradise, funny isn't it how long it took them to realize how uncomfortable the shoes had to be ? Oh well, live and learn.

Peggy Woods from Houston, Texas on April 03, 2011:

Like you...I find flats or lower heeled shoes much more comfortable these days.

anglnwu on April 03, 2011:

This is thoroughly engaging. Love the quote, especially this one: Be master of your petty annoyances and conserve your energies for the big worthwhile things. It isn't the mountain ahead that wears you out - it's the grain of sand in your shoe. - Robert Service

Thanks for sharing and rating it up.

Paradise7 from Upstate New York on April 03, 2011:

Loved this hub, loved it! (Of course, I love shoes!) The one fact I got real charge out of was that it took shoemakers a WHILE to figure out they needed to make right and left shoes, not both shoes the same.

Susan Hazelton (author) from Sunny Florida on April 03, 2011:

dahoglund, I don't think I could wear those skinny toed shoes and I certainly can't wear the high heels anymore. I can't imagine why I ever did wear them. Walking in high heels is a learned art.

Susan Hazelton (author) from Sunny Florida on April 03, 2011:

Peggy, I have so many different interests I like to share them with others. I agree with you on that quote. I like that one and "If the shoe fits, buy it in every color".

Don A. Hoglund from Wisconsin Rapids on April 03, 2011:

I bought a pair of high heeld cowboy boots once.I thought the narrow toe would bother me but it didn't. However, I couldn't walk in the high heels.

Peggy Woods from Houston, Texas on April 03, 2011:

Enjoyed these quotes, facts and trivia about shoes. You certainly do come up with interesting hubs! I like this quote best: "If high heels were so wonderful, men would be wearing them." True!
