Shed More Tears Whispered My Heart

Misbah loves writing poetry. She says poetry is what makes her heart feels warm and light.

Getting closer to You, cause I Love You

Getting closer to You, cause I Love You

You came to me in that hour of need

When I was so lost, so lonely

You came to me, took my breath away

Showed me the right way, the way to lead

You filled my heart with love

Showed me the light above

Now all I want is to be with you

— Lyrics by Sami Yusuf

Whispers Of The Heart

He reached out to me as I was sighing, and

Clutching my heart - in the dark. Hands cupped,

Eyes welling up with tears. “Shed, shed more,

Keep shedding more and more”, my Heart whispered.

I talked to Him privately in the dark, my

Room brightened up with a Light, as darkness

Vanished. “When Your lustre touches my spirit; my

Soul”, I said. “I feel like a radiant rose, so bright.”

“Your Light came in through my wounds –

Gashes with terrible scars, given by loved

Ones. This Light was never a curse, but a

Blessing, designed only to bring me closer to You”

A smile appeared as You held my hand.

“I Love You!” You whispered sweetly.

A smile that made me die to the mundane;

To Dunia. I feel Your tender touch, caressing my

Soul, as You lift this veil of sorrows. Your gleaming

Light, like a million stars, sparkling in my abyss.

I heard You voice saying: "Come closer to Me."

I moved nearer; my eyes closed. A garden

Of roses emerged as a brilliant Light. Amidst this

Scented garden, butterflies dance, urging me to

Play. I feel like a child in desperate need of my Beloved!

To receive Love, a child must cry. A child who

Later delights in smiles to Love. A child carrying

A lamp of fireflies. A child who sees the blue

Sky, and the sun, shining in the perennial heavens.

Shed more tears … still more! Sigh in private.

Make the emotions speak! He is the

Listener of Hearts, who will come closer. You

Will forget all that you have suffered, and your

Injuries will get stitched, without leaving a single mark.

(Even the very deepest ones, I promise.)

Hi Peggy,

Thank you so much for your beautiful comment. I appreciate your kind thoughts. I just googled 23rd Psalm. It reads as "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever."

That's so beautiful. Thank you for sharing this Psalm with me. That fits perfectly with the poem. Much Gratitude! God bless you! Happy Sunday!

Blessings and Love to you!

Rosina, He surely will.

There is no doubt. Allah always keeps His promises, and He has promised to heal all wounds. So there's nothing to be worried about. Right? Thank you for your kind comment. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Have a wonderful Sunday!

Many blessings and Love to you and your family.

Misbah Sheikh (author) from The World of Poets on October 03, 2021:

Thank you very much for your very kind response, John. I am happy to know you liked it. I consider myself fortunate to have you as my friend.

I feel that sometimes only a word or a simple sentence can lead us to the right direction. Manatita's thoughts on my forum, where we were discussing my so-called 'Muse,' were quite helpful for me. He said to me, "Whatever serves others will help us." It's so true.

Then, yesterday, a discussion on Brenda's forum about poem submissions piqued my interest even more. Finally, the list of Love poems did not include Love of God, which led me to question them. Chuckle!

Despite the fact that I have yet to receive an answer from them. Lol! But I believe I had a good time. Even if they'll reject my work, I've regained my inspiration. ;) So no loss. A win win situation for me, I believe. :) Have a great Sunday! Cheers!

Blessings to you and your family!!
