If you guys don't know, you've contributed so much in my life journey. All the lessons are taken seriously and is highly appreciated, you all have no idea how I thank God for having you all in this adventure. Thank you!

Before we jump into Ms Brenda's prompt '' Shadow '' I'd like to share a short story about what happened in the past two weeks, I needed a tremendous patience for everything and for everyone.

And also I figured out that a heart don't need a water to drown, those silence careless sound and disguised hateful whispering; beneath those heavy stifled sound will as well serve you so much pain.

But because I'm one of those who believed that everything happen for a reason, I usually don't close my door when life hurts, for someone said it's where the hope kicks in, and that is true. Trust me I've been there.

As typhoons crossed the country our house begin to sink and our blood move like a sugar syrup, and our patience begin to dissapppoint us,

Every single person inside the house are short tempered that as if when you touch their nerves they'll turn their heads on you with vengeance on their sleepless eyes

And there are times I'm one of those too or more often lately, I also learned that sleep is as important as food, sleep deprivation is actually more quickly to affect the body and mind than hunger.

And again I am the person who believed that everything happen for a reason, so I presumed that this natural disaster might be the nature's wrath,

Maybe addressing a message? asking for mercy? Maybe help? What else on earth you're doing to help cure the nature?

There are so much! But for now we just have to have strong bones and lots of patience. And oh, the rain is still pouring

I just actually received NDRRMC's orange rainful alert, and our house? Well I haven't sleep yet my eyes is kinda falling while our dinning area is drowning

Because there is a reason behind all the happenings, I believed that God is preparing me for something bigger, but I can't hide the truth that sometimes I think I'm both right and I think I'm wrong.

But one thing I'm sure of, is that when life hurts? it isn't God's vengeance or punishment, I'm very sure He's trying to help me to be a better person in a very difficult way to the point I couldn't even egin to understand. Whatever it is, I know it's all for the best.

Shadow

The shadow of suffering

Fell across His beloved land

Sadness and gloom occupied

Every lonely souls

Like a muted city shrouded by

Lamenting cloud

Where every guilty faces

Was cloaked in shadow

Lurking darkness

To every weary and troubled

Hearts

My unbothered and fearless soul

Is now sinking in fear

No hands to hold neither

A shoulder to lay my head

My working clouded mind

Is like a four thousand wide

White canvas in a battlefield

Thirsting soul feels like in a

Desert for a thousand years

I then kneel down and begin to beg

Great is thou faithfulness

My heart and soul only thou cants

Make it clean, in you I beg

I thirst for a drink from the well

I was as if like the long time paralytic

Man in the Pool of Bethesda waiting for something

I wasn't sure of

And the long waiting of the broken

Hearts and bones

The pain that lives within will

Eventually swift away

And the shadow of darkness

Defeated witnessed by all

As my heart take joy

So as the author of my hope

The healer of broken hearts

The way maker of lost

The creator of the star above the

Darkened sky

The maker of the rainbow

Inside my lonely heart

And on my darkest days

In my fathomless pain

I know that you are good

I know you have your eyes

On me that see my sin

Who can only calm the storm within

I know that I am safe

I know that I am loved

I know my soul at war with shadows

And you know all I longed for

To my knees I fall

Shadow might prevail for in

The light I stand

In front of the gate I hold still

My lamp stream

And burning brightly as I

Pledged my heart prepared.

Here's what I stole from someone I considered as my firefly in that gloomy night

I asked for strength and

God gave me difficulties to make me strong.

I asked for wisdom and

God gave me problems to solve.

I asked for prosperity and

God gave me brawn and brains to work.

I asked for courage and

God gave me dangers to overcome.

I asked for patience and

God placed me in situations where I was forsed to wait.

I asked for love and

God gave me troubled people to help.

I asked for favors and

God gave me opportunities.

I received nothing I wanted

I received everything I needed.

My prayers have all een answered.

Who ever wrote this, thank you!

Chrish, thank you for taking the time to write this in the midst of such a terrible situation. I pray the rains ease soon and the waters flooding your home recedes. It seems “natural” disasters are increasing all over the world. I will pray for you and your family. Stay strong and keep your faith.

manatita44 from london on August 01, 2021:

Life can be cruel sometimes in your part of the world. A bit like Christchurch, but I hear they have recovered, so fingers cross, you'll be fine. You present an emotionally 'trying' picture of life at home, but you seem to be doing fairly well. Keep going! Don't look back!

BRENDA ARLEDGE from Washington Court House on July 31, 2021:

Chrish

My heart goes out to you during this struggle you are facing.

I cannot imagine how horrible it would be to watch as the rain keeps pouring.

I pray things turn around & you remain safe.

In your poem, "Shadow" you show us how everyone is filled with sadness when suffering hits the land.

As even your unbothered & fearless soul is sinking, until you kneel down and beg for the shadow to be lifted away.

As everyone witnesses the defeat of the storm, your heart is joyful.

You know he is there for you & understands your troubles.

You pledge your heart to him keeping your light burning bright.

The poem you stole is definitely awesome. It really points out how God helps us to learn along life's journey.

Great write Chrish!

I will post a link in the word prompt article.

I am sorry to hear you have had to deal with typhoons. That is scary, Chrish.

I really enjoyed reading your article and this is a good response to Brenda's prompt. I like the prayer that you posted also. Your poem is good as it starts with a tough time and ends up with such positive lines. It is very enjoyable to read. Thank you for everything you have written.
