First Day of School

Do you remember your first day of school? I do. My first day of school was 63 years ago and I can still remember being terrified.

I can still feel the fear and the urge to cry. I know no one there and really wanted to do nothing more that go home and hide.

Fortunately my kindergarten teacher was so sweet and friendly. She went out of her way to make all of us feel comfortable.

I have never forgotten her though her name escapes me. She gave us a firm start to out school life. I can only hope I was able to do the same when I became a teacher.
