A Fun Day From Morning To Night
- When we get older we soon forget how much fun it was being young. We have all the responsibilities and chores that never end. Wayitis is no different than anyplace, and at the same time, it is not the same as any place else either. A merry go round is at the center of town. Any weekend to about until about ten at night you can hear the music playing. There is a constant chatter that when you listen to it close it is really a sea of laughter. Even if you are not on the merry go round you can't help but enjoy watching all the children have fun. Even though merry go rounds are for children. I have seen adults with their sons and daughters and when the parents say we have to go the children ask for one more time around the parents usually say yes. I think it is more for them than for their kids. You can see all the places to eat on either side going down the old country road. Just thinking about it makes my stomach growl. So many different smells that tease and tickle all my senses. Those were the special times that you would hope would never end. It is kind of funny how complete strangers that have never seen each other before would be friendly and very social. Sometimes in life, we forget all the good in people and just remember the bad. Too bad we all couldn't find ways to create more fun instead of getting someone upset and driving them crazy. The weather was out of this world. There were crowds but people took their time and let people walk slowly if it was an elderly person. Even kids who were running to the merry go round were careful not to knock anyone down. The downtown area was busy every weekend and if you came there during a weekday you would never say it was the same place. I loved Mrs.Arrett's hot chocolate chip and blueberry muffins right out of the oven. Then to top it off you could use as much whip cream as you wanted. The saddest part of the day is when the sun went down. You knew everyone would start packing up their stuff and one by one the cars would drive off and soon everyone but a few workers would disappear. Until next time when I hope to see you before you see me.

Lorna Lamon I bring back good memories from my childhood that stand out the best. I lived not far from the beach and when at the beach there were always great smells from all the little places to eat. From french fries, grilled sausages, pizza, and fried dough. There were big crowds on the weekends and the same place would be so lonely and quiet during a rainy day. Today with so many people dealing with the stress and sadness of the Pandemic I thought I would bring different light and try to give people a little humor. Children always find ways to have fun and adults love to be part of that too. There is nothing greater than to listen to children laugh. Combining as much as I could into a new story I thought would be fun. Thank you so much for reading and caring. Have a lovely afternoon.

I think this virus has made us stop and think of what we used to take for granted. I enjoyed your trip down memory lane Dream On and the joy that is taken in the simple pleasure of being together and enjoying life. You have captured a moment in time which is so precious.
