Rescue Me (Poetry)

Rescue Me

My universe

Space that I have chosen

Extreme somewhat

One might not care to notice

Hot summer breezes

Darkness exchanges places with light

Stale liquor morning drinks

She floated into my space

With the deadbeats and the rowdies

Intensity and sweet demore

Eyes silent as stars

A goddess demanding attention

She feeds herself to my heart

Measuring elements of flavor

I have to run-have to flee

Before fate does its part

And I am left

With another

Lonely teardrop

The Future

  1. Love is an addiction sequestered in the heart demanding satisfaction.

Assess the roads that you travel. The mental force of love liberates the soul. Good in the world is increased when your actions benefit others. Look at all matters of the heart with encouraging and compromising attitudes.

Missy Smith from Florida on January 29, 2016:

I like the exchange of words in this one. They seem to flip a different beat but bouncing off each other. I hope that makes sense? It's how I interpreted it while reading it. Very unique!
