Funny Quotes about Getting Older

Remember Way Back When....

Many friends have said, "just wait until you hit 40, you'll start feeling your age." Well, suffice it to say, things do seem to start changing a bit when we approach middle age, and yes 40 is around middle age, unless you are planning on living to be near one hundred.

The vision goes, joints ache, things fall out of place, and you just don't seem to care so much what other people think of you (a great perk, by the way), and it makes you an interesting conversationalist. It's also fun to embarrass your teenagers out in public, and you thought you'd never be able to get back at your parents for doing it to you.

One thing can definitely be said about aging, being that kid that lives inside of you can be fun once in a while, and it helps keep you young at heart. Enjoy Quotes on Aging and for those in the over the hill crowd , you are sure to find some that sound like someone you know...

A Prayer for Growing Old Gracefully

Lord, Thou knowest better than I myself that I am growing older and will someday be old. Keep me from the fatal habit of thinking I must say something on every subject and on every occasion.

Release me from craving to straighten out everybody's affairs. Make me thoughtful but not moody; helpful but not bossy. With my vast store of wisdom, it seems a pity not to use it all; but Thou knowest, Lord, that I want a few friends at the end. Keep my mind free from the recital of endless details; give me wings to get to the point. Seal my lips on my aches and pains; they are increasing, and love of rehearsing them is becoming sweeter as the years go by.

I dare not ask for improved memory, but for a growing humility and a lessening cock-sureness when my memory seems to clash with the memories of others. Teach me the glorious lesson that occasionally I may be mistaken.

Keep me reasonably sweet, for a sour old person is one of the crowning works of the devil. Give me the ability to see good things in unexpected places and talents in unexpected people; and give, O Lord, the grace to tell them so............................Amen.

What a wonderful job you did with the quotes about old age. You had me laughing. I have done hubs about aging and about quotes, but not half so brilliantly as you did. I'm voting up.
