Psychic HubNuggets: HubNuggets Team Goes to the Psychic Fair

  • Author:

Elle Fredine (RedElf), photographer, published author, Elle loves seeking out new writers, and catching up with old friends

Exciting times round the HubPages - the entire HubNuggets Team has been undergoing intense training as Psychic Mediums - reading Tarot cards, tea leaves, palms, crystal balls, head bumps (Phrenology), and psychic auras; becoming proficient in casting runes, using calligraphy (for automatic writing), attuning crystals, and harnessing the powers of special candles and aromatic oils - as well as attending a workshop in dressing as gypsy fortune tellers. We're off to the Psychic Fair to predict the next eighteen nominees for HubNuggets fame and fortune. Why all the excitement? Well...

Marketing Manager Menayan contacted the whole team early last week - Friday morning, to be exact - right after the Empress Zsuzsy Bee, published her HubNuggets round-up hub. He sounded pleased and, yes, excited, as he outlined his plan for rounding up this week's nominees.

Straight from the Swami...

"There's a Psychic Fair in town. "Hubbers" from everywhere will be attending. I'm sure we can harness your team's psychic powers to uncover six nominees in each of the three chosen categories."

He continued, "Manager Maddie and Simone will begin testing each team member for psychic abilities, and make sure each is outfitted to suit your particular discipline. I foresee great things from all of you."

With that, Manager-turned-Swami Jason handed us over to Manager Maddie and Seer Simone to put his plan into action.

We spent hour after countless hour poring over palmistry charts 'til our eyes crossed and our own palms were sweaty. We cast so many runes we must have sounded like a troupe of Flamenco dancers.

We gazed into crystal balls, poised to catch the least flicker of anything. We puzzled over complicated tarot card layouts, trying to distill messages from the ancient meanings.

Within a few short days, we were all at the fair, meeting new people, reading palms, crystal balls, tarot cards, and hubs, in search of six candidates in the first category.

Enelle Lamb showed a definite flair for runic divination, poring through stacks of ancient tomes crammed with arcane knowledge, in search of answers to some musical questions...

"What was floating in the water?"

"Who sang the Disney hit, The Animal Song ?"

Enelle's research and rune casting revealed that "pets" was hot topic this week, and full of juicy, related keywords.

KoffeeKlatch Gals displayed virtuosos talent passing as a wide variety of tea leaves, from Green, Organic, Herbal, Darjeeling, and Spice, to more traditional blends, including my favorite, Earl Grey. Working undercover as TimeForTea Gals (great disguise!) with a traveling Gypsy Tea Leaf Reader, Gals saw similar results in the cups of many writers, reporting, "Six great hubs to read!"

M'ladyjane1, Tarot Card Reader and Mystic Seer, studied the Major Arcana spread she'd just laid out. Raising her eyes to the writers clustered around her table, she intoned, "The cards have spoken - casting your vote below will decide the top three HubNugget Wannabes in the Pets and Animals category."

Empress Zsuzsy Bee, "Madame Bee, Crystal Ball Gazer, par excellence ," was quickly besieged by hordes of writers seeking answers to life's serious questions:

"What should I write about?”

“Where can I find great hubs about art and design?”

Gazing deeply into her crystal ball, Madame Bee proclaimed, "The spirits of art and design are strong - I foresee great writings about them. The answers you seek are written in the hubs! Search your terms among hubs and forum topics - all will be revealed."

Patty (Psychic-P.I.) Inglish, MS, our resident psychic detective, cleverly disguised herself as part of a palmistry chart.

From her position on a sign board high above the crowds thronging the fair grounds, she could spot a tasty hub a hundred yards away - well, alright, perhaps only from as far away as the next yard, but still that was pretty far...

In no time at all, Madame Bee and Psy-PI collected six nominees for their category - Art and Design

Ripplemaker was flitting from booth to booth, her Mystic-Crystal-Mobile completely attuned to her radiant positivity. HubNugget Wannabes clustered around her wherever she settled, just to steep themselves in her soothing aura.

The technology writers were all atwitter, anxious to check their "best new high-tech product" reviews with their favorite soothsayers. "Our prognostications are all based on market analysis and years of research, but we like to triple check our forecasts of what will be "hot" before we publish them," one techno-reviewer explained.

Red(gypsy fortune-teller)Elf was kept busy reading cards for a steady stream of customers.

Shuffling her deck, the kitty announced, "Only hubbers with an author score of 75 or better, who've been on HubPages 3 months (90 days) or less, are eligible to have their hubs nominated by the HubNuggets Team members."

As the crowd gathered, she laid out the cards, saying, "The cards never lie - an eligible hub must have been written in the last seven weeks, in one of the featured categories, and have a hub-score of 55 or better."

Flipping over the final card, RedElf proclaimed, "I have foreseen this - there are six nominees to vote on in the category below!"

What were the HubNuggets?

HubNuggets Program - The HubNuggets project was a Special Program of HubPages and is explained at the HubPages Learning Center by Simone Smith, our Online Marketing Community Manager

The program was used by Hub Pages to shine a spotlight on new writers and introduce them to both the Hub Pages community and the WWW at large. Showcasing their work and encouraging members to read and comment on the new writers' hubs helped launch many new writers on this site and broaden their reader-base.

Moonmaiden, my advisor for this particular hub is a tarot reader and practitioner of energy healing. She assured me that though she takes her work very seriously, it's OK to have a sense of humor about it, just as with any calling.

Thanks so much, Genna East, and thanks for stopping by to read and vote.

Wonderful hub and beautifully creative!

I suppose this was all tongue-in-cheek, but I was really hoping it was on the topic of the hard working psychics in the world. Some of us do take metaphysics seriously.
