Prefer to Inferment of Loves Germaine - Poem by Cathy Nerujen

Cathy Nerujen is a book editor, author, poet, and magazine creator. In her spare time she blogs about writing and co-runs "Webonist".

Romantic, funny and zany elements all combined into this one single poem. This is that poem. I wrote it in the style and manner of a certain Hub PagesBard”. See the short note at end of the poem for who this person is... It is comical, and straight from the theater of the absurd. Thank you Mr Beckett. And thanks for the strange cookbook from Cheeky Girl that helped inspire some very strange food combinations in this very odd and humorous poetry.

Prefer To Inferment Of Love’s Germaine

Prefer to inferment of love’s Germaine
the kisses you give - drive me insane
the heights of love that we pursue
your catching of me has just got glue
my brain has exploded from all our love
my stroke induced by your velvet glove
of the raunchiest romps that ever rocked
this palace of quaking building blocks.

Prefer to inferment of love’s Germaine
Just what in the hell do these words mane?
I’m just gone blind and my eyes are red
and my brain has frazzled in my head
when we danced and kissed, and rocked and rode
as we slid and swam - like frog and toad
then as otters – we frolicked – danced and turned
the jealous beavers, so red they turned.

With my senses cooked – now a nervous wreck
of raw emotions - rubber-necked
from turning kisses into wine
my boat is holed – I make the sign -
of “Red Alert” - and “Help Me Now” -
“I need a tow” – I need a cow -
a glass of milk won’t be enough
to quench my thirst – when you’re in the buff.

Your body keeps me up all night
I quiver now - at the merest sight
of muffins, moss and lipstick gloss
and any foods that need a toss –
like salad or pallid wettish squid
tomatoes, basil, herbs or gid -
or spicy meatballs – sloppy salmon –
why - I even write like Epigramman.

So my words they haze in a fog of soup
as my concentration gathers gloop
I can only process simple things –
I have to earn my Angel’s Wings –
your brownest eyes – your sweet desire
and your tender finger tips of fire –
I hum the song of Love’s Purdue
but what it means – I hain’t a clue.

I’ll take that latte – sugar filled –
my mocha sweet and over-spilled
with warmth and mirth at how we came
this far in love - now we’re the same
we both have overdosed in love
and yes – we thank the stars above
for sex that’s squared and ‘gasms cubed
and boobs with names – it’s almost rude.

I’ll refer to impairment of Love’s Germaine
I need a rest – cos our love’s untamed -
please calm me down – let's both attest
as bards like me - we need a rest -
Normal service will be resumed
soon as this drink is all consumed
“Your diet needs a change” - you say?
Okay – I’ll try your Crème Brullee...

About the poem

This poem and culinary delight is written in the style and manner of the poet Colin Stewart, a legendary poet in Hub Pages, also know as “Epigramman”, as a tribute and thank you for so much amazing and infectious poetry. Colin's very words can bend time-space and matter itself, and now has four books published on the Amazon Kindle. See the ad below.

My poem is warmly dedicated – with love and smiles – to Colin Stewart - "Epigramman" and to my beautiful Fehl Dungo. She is better known to Hubbers as blaise25, author of "Toss and Turn".

Fehl is the only person on earth who can decrypt this poem's very delicious cryptic references in some places. Read her wonderful poetry. Some references here are meant as humor, others are ... “Love’s Germaine”.... because what else could they mean?

Hi Colin -

Hi Mr Stewart. Thank you for checking this epi poem, or rather epic comedy of delights again. You will notice I added one of your book links to the hub, and it links to where people can buy it on Amazon Kindle now.

Oh Colin your new blog is wonderful. I like the new update in the design. I had someone design the Epigramman thing logo with the cat for you. Hehehe. It looks awesome. I read the lovely Ladies Man poem. It just bounces with your usual amazing style and humor, Colin.

According to a theory posited by Cassy, if you were to add a photo to a random hub you created, your score on Hubs would climb more for you, and that would be good. I think the world is just so happy that you have now got a quality blog and your wonderful writing talent is there for the world to see and enjoy. But no matter what you do or write, Colin, you are always full on genuine brilliant.

Oh please don't get a stain there or scald yourself with hot tea. LOL. I prefer to no injurement for your general main parts, Colin. Hehehe. :P

That is so mad funny.

This poem will always be my tribute to our great Mr Epi. Have a sweet day and look after Miss Tiffy and Mister Gabriel. The photo you posted on FB of the cat is lovely. :)

Mr. Stewart of Colin, himself on January 23, 2014:

Just home from work to see and read this honor and this entire page has been duly posted with much pride, enthusiasm and appreciation on my FB timeline. To receive this poetic flattery from a writer as wonderful as you Cathy is always a thrill, honor and delight and I obviously put your beloved Fehl in that same category. In a shameless self-promotion one of my new pieces 'Deathless consent of a ladies man' is definitely in the wild and crazy Epi style, lol , but I certainly did love going over your words again and to prove at one point that I laughed so hard that I spilled some hot tea on a spot where I might have to prescribe to Viagra now, lol lol

Hi Rose. Wow, you read my crazy zany poem ... and you survived the experience. Heh. :)

I was not kidding. Colin is top of the class in my opinion. He has a crazy and amazing imagination. I love great poets and I love poetry.

As for me and my writing, um... I could never be as bold and amazing as Colin. I just emulated some of his great writing style. I just read so many of his poems. As for my other poetry... well, they are mostly romantic, and this poem is already in my poetry book which is currently going through the printing publishing process. Thank you again Rose. I am reading more of your hubs. You write a lot about marriages and wedding planning. Keep up the great writing. :)

Hi Johnny, thank you and yes I try to um...invigorate readers... within reason. LOL.

Hi acaetnna, yes, I went off on a tangent from the usual romantic poetry here with something more funny and zany. Poetry is so awesome and flexible as a way of saying things. It's nice to try new things in my poems. Thank you for the comments.

Hy Ruby, I know you are like me, a big Epigramman fan, and I wrote this in the style of how Epi writes his poetry, and tried to do that justice. It lends this poem a sense of fun and playfulness that I always enjoy in his work. Yes, Love is beautiful and I will always be a Romantic poet. Happy to share. Thank you Ruby. I hope your weekend is great. :)

Hi Deborah, I love Crème Brullee so much, since I was introduced to it on a Holiday in France. And Crème Brullee has another meaning in this poem... but perhaps only one particular person will know of this. Heh. Thank you for the comments. :)

Hi Augustine, glad to see you checking out my new zany hub with a difference. LOL. Remain calm, okay. Have a nice weekend everyone. Thank you. :)
