Why I wrote these poems?

Few months ago, I just wrote these poems during my gloomy days. Every time, I am in my gloomy days, my poetic words came out and the rest is history.

Hope the readers here will like it. Thanks for reading.

INTEGRITY

Problems are everywhere,

That every person will encounter,

However, some of them can be filter

Those problems with their own power.

To make a solution with the problem,

A barricade of negativity will solemn

Tons of questions for us to blame

Why I am here to carry the flame?

I am only a nobody,

That somewhat to be pony,

That cannot stand with homogamy

Which suffers my integrity.

Who am I to be in my position?

I am only a simple person with passion,

To surpass all the problems with friction,

That needed someone with undivided attention.

PROMISES

If I can blame everything in my life

If I can choose to hold the tie

If I can make sweeten the pie

I will make myself to win the fly.

If I can use to live somewhat

If I can choose to live in the promise path

If I can fly with the dove to the nest to hath

I will make myself my day to carry the cat.

If I can swim the river in the night

If I can touch the stars and sunlight

If I can bury the dragons from a fight

I will make myself to lose my sight.

If I can love to swallow the melting ice

If I can hold all the sweeten lice

If I can tell all the wordy lies

I will make myself to fly to the skies.

If I can hold the words

I will make myself to shake all the worlds.

COMMITMENT

Who can stand in my gloomy days?

Who can love my fashionable hays?

Who can be tough in my farthest ways?

Who can live in the sunset with promise pays?

The gloomy days keeping my faith

To reach my sadness to kill the saint

That questions my life in the paint

To lower than to knees and faint.

The fashionable hays to my glory

To reach in the ceiling with no worry

That no questions in my life to sorry

With passion in the above of masonry.

The farthest ways to hold you tight

To reach my happiness to work the fight

With no questions that I can without a sight

I can still make my day to win the light.

The promise pays with have a new day

To reach a new dream to sweet with no delay

With no questions to catch the love, I say

To pay respect to somebody without decay.

Every gloomy days, I will fashionably hays

To win the farthest ways to hit the promise pays.

About the Poet

Back in 1997, when I started my career as a comic script writer in one of the well known illustrated publishing house here in the Philippines.

During that time, I started also my career as a poetry reader. Although, I was not doing any poems that time, I just go around the Metropolis and go to different bars who used to have poetry reading session for the sake of the bar hoppers. Believe it or not, there are bars out here who became their showcase to hear different poets to read different kinds of poems (which includes me). Some poets who read wrote by themselves and some are not. That was my passion to go to those places just to read poems. I'll just go there to pay for some beer in order to read poems. Cool. We're not paid for those poetry reading talents, if you want to read poems in the stage, you have to pay Php20 that time, that's around $0.60 to $0.75 (1997-1998 currency conversion).

Until, in few months, as I became an active member of the "Association of Filipino Poets", I learned how to write poems in both English and Filipino languages. Sometimes, I used to write poems in two different languages in just one poem. We call that as mix poetry. Filipino with some English words or vice versa to make more fun.

Although, I am not doing anymore poetry reading in the bar, however, my passion of writing poetry is still continuing.

This poetry is phenomenal! Many times, our best writing happens when we are overcoming adversity. Not only did you overcome, but you overcame it with your words on paper as well. I really enjoyed reading these.

Lous. Wow I was out there. My son was freaking out that in meditation I was reading his mind. Strangest stuff. "Promises" was the pinpoint. Not what he promised others but what he promised himself.

Thanks Pamela for that wonderful comment. I appreciate. Poetry is my only source to be in strength. Even if some of my words extract with negatives because of my gloomy days.

Pamela Oglesby from Sunny Florida on November 29, 2019:

I think you expressed yourself beautifully in your poetry at time when you may have been at your lowest point. I thought the poetry was good. I never considered writing poetry in more than one language. I do not have that ability, but it sounds like you have explored many options. You are talented.

Luis G Asuncion (author) from City of San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan, Philippines on November 28, 2019:

Very often it is when we are at our lowest than inspiration comes. Your collection of poems shows this inspiration. Good luck with your writing Luis - you deserve it.
