Poem – Questions
A baby was just born in her family.
Her heart was filled with joy, she knew.
An elderly person has just died in her family.
She cried, she cried, she cried,
and then,
When
she heard the terrible news story
that several young children
died all together
in a horrific accident,
she felt like her heart shattered.
It’s finally on the mend.
She did not know them personally
but she knows what mattered.
A mother’s love.
A father’s love.
Their children torn from them
It was not so long ago
that they rejoiced
that the babies were born
of them.
“The good die young”
The bad die old?
Is that how the story goes?
Or the good will be blessed
with long life?
Is that what is often told?
We do not know.
We do not know.
Only God knows.
If we do not just leave
it up to God,
we will have lots and lots
of questions.
Too many questions.
We will cry.
We will ask why.
We will have too many questions.
