Philosophy of Satisfaction

We tolerate our past to pace for
Our future knowing today is wholly
Weighing, it isn't a self help but merely
A lifes trolls of rumination

I watched people hurriedly to the odd
Where I see nothing they see everything
I've seen people born and die

They were oh so different, beautiful, hankering
Seeking and Curious

The finding perfections and acceptance

were the greatest mistake
Some was born to swim yet

you'll see them fly assuming they are birds

And some chose to swim as if they are fish
You'll see them helpless and hopelessly
Fruitless

That's what labels and perfectionism
Do to someone who seek satisfaction
But got lost in odds of perfections

I hear the mourning unrest

wandered around my wonders

They seem to seek perfections for

that's what we're told to stand on

No matter how broad
Our knowledge no matter how obvious -

seeking perfections is like catching wind

" A satisfied life is better than a

successful life. Because our success

Is measured by others. But our satisfaction

is measured by our own. Soul, mind

And heart. "

I've seen it in me and those people around me
I act and treat my life as if

I am a jury and had forgotten -

I was born
to be my own lifes defeater and detective

Mistakes and my odds of perfection
I've recognize and consider them

not dangerous nor an enemy

but a challenge to everyone

Want to be rich? Be satisfied.
Being able to breath and having

a peaceful mind a family who loves you

A dog, cat or a bird who wink

dance and sing to wake us up

early in the morning

And still able to witness the twilights
Surely is a perfect

priceless and satisfying
Life.

I guess half of humanities are Ms David. It's easy to fall into this trap

" Perfection " cause every one is doing it. being satisfied organically/what we already have

Is a practice we need to do consistently no matter what.

I'm happy it make sense to you Ms David ;-) have a great time out there and take care as well. God bless

Chrish Canosa (author) from Manila Philippines on September 28, 2020:

This is an amazing article. Like honestly, being satisfied is better than perfection. This whole time I thought I yearned for perfection but turns out I am yearning for satisfaction.

Eric Dierker from Spring Valley, CA. U.S.A. on September 27, 2020:

It is good of you to share this insightful work of your inner thoughts.

I enjoyed it. Today I shall concentrate on this quote; " A satisfied life is better than a

successful life. Because our success

Is measured by others. But our satisfaction

is measured by our own. Soul, mind

And heart. "

Ankita B on September 27, 2020:

Yes we should always be satisfied with what we have. A poem with deep meaning. Beautiful lines Chrish.

Beautiful thoughts.

Amazingly woven poem Chrish.

Loved it.

Lorna Lamon on September 27, 2020:

It's appreciating what we have and not letting go of our dreams and goals. For me the Philosophy of Satisfaction is being content with what you have, but not with who you are. Great poem Chrish - heartfelt and honest.
