Nibbling on Witch Fingers and Munching on Green Cotton Candy - Poem

Witch Fingers and Green Cotton Candy

I am Nibbling on Witch fingers and Munching on Green Cotton Candy. Do you know what I am eating?

Witch Fingers on my table

nibbling-on-witch-fingers-and-munching-on-cotton-candy-poem

Nibbling on Witch fingers and Munching on Green Cotton Candy

Nibbling on Witch Fingers and Munching on Green Cotton Candy

They are so good they are really Dandy

While searching at sprouts, up and down every isle

I thought I would hang out with the fruits for a while

Pink Ladies lying on tables, Oranges baring their navels'

And Blueberries rolling like marbles when they are able

Looking at Grapes, red, black and green and what did I see

Witch Fingers pointing at me, they were strange looking at best

I must do a taste test, they are strange looking like they're covered with dew

The cost was so high but I wanted to try something new

I did not want the whole bunch, just a few, but bags were not handy

Looking around, guess what I found? Green Cotton Candy

I bought half a bunch, thinking we would have some for lunch

Hubby thought they look strange, but he was ready to munch

On my Witch Fingers and Green Cotton Candy, he would dine

The fact that I didn't get any, he did not seem to mind

So when you want something to eat, let me repeat

Witch Fingers and Green Cotton Candy is a real treat

So, if you go to Sprouts I hope they are not sold out, hope they are still handy

Witch Fingers and Green Cotton Candy

Ordinary Grapes they are not, and if you try them you'll know

Although they look strange, they are not just for show

When you put some in a bowl on your table, folks will know they're not a fable

Because it says Witch Fingers and Green Cotton Candy on the label.

I heard it through the grapevine!

Back to post this excellent poem on AH.

Only 3 months since I was here last and now Covid-19 deaths exceed 600,000. I've read the new variant (Delta?) is spreading faster than hot cakes. I wonder if we'll ever be done with it since so many people refuse to follow recommended behavior or get vaccinated . . .

Hope posting these poems of yours on AH brings you lots of traffic. Blessings, dear friend.

C E Clark from North Texas on March 28, 2021:

Love this poem. Know I was just here a couple of weeks ago, but there is no such thing as too much of this poem.

Hope you are well and continuing to be cautious regarding Covid-19. It is picking up strength and speed again, as I figured it would, when governors across the country started opening things up way too soon IMHO.

More than 560,000 people have died from the Trump virus since its beginning, and many if not most of those deaths could have been avoided if people would just follow medical and scientific recommendations.

Blessings to you and yours, dear friend . . .

Back to post this excellent poem, one of my most favorites, on AH & FB. I hope it will bring you lots of traffic.

As the Covid slacks off a little, I hope everyone will continue to take recommended precautions -- masking, social distancing, etc., so that it doesn't come back raging again as it has previously, because people threw their cares to the wind and stopped taking safety measures. Slacking off doesn't mean over. I have read that vaccines for Covid may become a yearly thing like flu shots.

Posting this on AH & FB.

Hope you are staying well. Blessings, dear friend . . .

Yesterday at Sprouts I went to shop,

looking for witch finger

but what I found made me stop

A new name they would adopt

Witch fingers gained weight

And now they are called Moon Drops

Patricia, I did have fun writing this, I love when I get a sudden inspiration to write something like this. Green cotton candy? The grapes themselves are green, but they taste and smell like cotton candy.

Angels are cleared for landing and the ones you sent last time are cleared for takeoff on their way back to you bringing Blessings and Hugs right back to you.

Patricia Scott from North Central Florida on July 11, 2015:

What fun you must have had writing this. I will have to see if I can find some of these fingers nearby. The green cotton candy...tastes like green apples? limes? spinach? Broccoli?

Angels are headed your way this evening ps

Shyron E Shenko (author) from Texas on March 10, 2015:

Good morning Au fait, thank you for the comment, and sharing.

It went very well, the planning and zoning commission voted to approve the denial of the request 6-0, the town hall was so packed that chairs in the lobby were full and chairs around into the hallway in front of the staff offices were full and people were standing all around.

"We the people WON the battle" next Monday is all out war, we go before the town council and we believe that this will be harder to get it denied. Suing, yes it is in the 14th amendment that the state or country can be sued over a situation such as this.

I will e-mail you the link to see what happened. I think there were about 35-40 people to speak before me. I basically told the commission that if they approve this, they may as well tear-up the Master Plan, because if this is approved our Master Plan means nothing.

C E Clark from North Texas on March 09, 2015:

Love this poem as you know and decided to revisit it. I'm not sure our new friends from Squidoo have read it and they should. Going to share it again with followers.

Hope all goes well tonight. I'll be thinking of you. Once the weather improves neighborhood teams need to be out picketing. Yes, demonstrating around city hall if you have one, especially if it's in a prominent place where lots of people will see.

Consider suing the city of Flower Mound if the zoning is changed and therefore lowers your property value. I don't know if that's ever been done before, where a citizen sued a city for lowering their property value with their decisions, but it's worth a try, especially if you can find a lawyer who may want to make a name for him/herself by possibly going all the way to the SC.

Best wishes, and may God be with you tonight . . .

I was going to vote in the poll but but I could not, because the names sound familiar and I think that I have had them only I am not sure. In the back of my mind I think I picture the Witch fingers, and green cotton candy rings as some vegetable.

I thought that the poem was beautiful. I voted it up and straight across. I shared it, pinned it and I even G+ it to see what they thought.
