My Truest Friends.

and Old Age

When birth came,

my first friend

who introduced me to life

I was stubborn and shy

for i knew nothing of my

first friends value

in my fetal curl

enjoying my

solitary existence

in the warmth

of the womb.

But a dark tunnel

awaited my expelling

as a brand new

member of Human kind

into the inevtable

process of aging

that I would come to know.

and so birth gently pushed me

through vaginal spasms,

into the embrace of infancy

There I greeted life's

mysterious gift

at first with wails

until I gazed

with eyes of wonder,

at my newest companion,

My mother

whose umbilcal cord

had nourished me

long before I got

to meet her

that cord was severed

as my first friend birth

went off to encourage

others from their wombs

but birth and my mother

left me a tiny sovieneer

a button of flesh

on my belly

that would always

remind me of my

mother's care

for months

before I existed.

When love came,

to become my

newest pal

it also brought

another friendship

that it transformed

beginning a process

that could lead to birth

my old friend

coming back around

to befriend

my future children

Love came often

sometimes unexpectedly

and brought me promising

partners to be.

often I was unsure.

and love would slip away

But eventually it led

my heart to another heart

that held many allures.

for love is always patient.

and loves gift to me

was a true blessing that

would banish

my Nemesis called loneliness

who was never my friend

and love stayed with me

with blessing to sweet

to pass up.

Warm, wet lips,

gentle fingertips,

and hours

of conversing

with life's finest offering.....

My girl.... My soulmate

and then My wife

When age comes,

he will be my oldest friend

helping me along

as I snuggle down

into the wrinkled P.J.s

of my skin,

with a toothless grin,

and rest my weary bones.

age brings those who are

needful of rest

With all my

obligations fulfilled,

With age I will

reminisce on

the lifelong bliss

of the many friendships

I have known. thanks to love

and thanks to my birth

my mother and father

all of them caring companions

I will share a fine repast

with my latest

timeworn associate,

as I wait for

one final friend

that no one cares

to mentiuon

but who really will be

welcomed when

my frail flesh

can stand no more

when my bones

no longer

can support

and cage my soul

I wil greet my death.

mankinds most faithful

friend of all,

who always waits

just around the corner

for those who manage

to grow old

when each soul

is ready for

death's benevolence.

I will welcome him

at long last,

with shaking hands

and eyes wide.

as he draws me

back into

a fetal curled position

and nudges me gently

into a tunnel

of darkness,

that leads to

the light that I

Burst into with birth

the light of

my souls rebirth,

into paradise.

then death

my darkest but

neccessary friend

will leave me there

forever to share

endless times

with my greatest

friend of all

who sent me

and is waiting

for me as well

My creator.

Then he will

welcome me back

to join all of my family

and friends

who went on before me

in the grandest reunion

where love will eternally be

a true friend to all.

It is all just passages

and friends along the way

to help guide you

from one beggining

to a long tarry

and then on to

one ending

from which you will

begin again.
